this has to be the grossest movie theater i have ever been to. we went on opening weekend to see man of steel in 3D. my fiance, 7 year old son and myself went and we went into the theater and as soon as we walk in there was an overwhelming smell of mold and mildew. there was only 1 additional person in the theater when we walked in, more people came later. the smell was so bad my 7 year old asked if someone died in there. it smelled like it had been flooded and it hasnt been cleaned. i dont know if the ceiling was leaking from all the rain we experienced that day or not but it was foul. we went to go get popcorn and the popcorn tasted stale and old. during the previews my nose still hadnt got used to the foul smell of mold, and to be frank, i shouldnt have to get used to it when i pay almost 14.00 a person to see this movie. i took my 7 year old to the bathroom with me and im not exaggerating, i checked 10 stalls and there was pee and poop and toilet seat covers all over the toilet seat. wjem i finally found a toilet that didnt have pee on it, i had to squat over the seat to pee because there were no toilet seat covers in any of the stalls to use, all empty. it looked like the bathroom hadnt been cleaned in weeks. i finally was so grossed out i went and talked to the manager on duty. she was very nice dont get me wrong but her response when i told her about the smell was " maybe its a person in the theater." it wasnt a gross person smell it was a mold smell. she also stated that since the movie was already starting she couldnt send anyone in there to clean it. i told her it was unacceptable and she did give me 3 passes for another 3d movie at another date. that was very nice, and i will be calling to make sure later on this can be used at another regal theater because i will never be going back to this one again!!!!!

My recent visit at Regal Cinema located in Kansas City, MO was not as I had expected. This theater needs updating. Went into the theater and as soon as we walked in, there was an overwhelming smell of mold and mildew. It was literally hard to breathe in there. The overall cleanliness was not good at all. The restrooms were disgusting. The manager on duty was very nonchalant about the issues I had brought to his attention. I asked him if others have complained of the mold and mildew smell. His response was, "Yes, we do have professional cleaners come in once a year to help with the problem". Left before the movie started because the smell caused me an instant headache and feeling nauseous. I did receive a refund. Shared my experience with family and friends and was told the problem has been ongoing for over three years that they knew from their past unacceptable experience at this theater. No wonder they are never that busy!!!! Honestly, I cant believe they are still in business.....The place is so dirty in general, it makes me wonder if they only clean anything but once a year!!!!! If the owners are not going to take care of the cinema.... then my suggestion is...make it a $1 show movie theater..with cheaper popcorn, soda ....etc...so that I can have some money left over to buy Tylenol for the free instant headache they cause by allowing mold, mildew to continue....I put a call into the health dept. Not sure what good it will do but hopefully it will save the next person from a BIG HEADACHE!!!!!!! Still wondering how much Regal would pay me to write a GOOD review????? Too many good reviews for such a run down... expensive place to watch a movie in my opinion....

As retirees, my husband and I appreciate the Regal card discount and half price popcorn or $2 Nathan hot dogs, or $2 nachos on Tuesdays. We have received offers from Regal to redeem points we have earned with use our Regal card. The restrooms can be a long walk if you go to a show located in one of the further theaters. They have always been clean. Although the theater seats are older, they are comfortable enough for a show. Most times there are only a handful of people in the theater, so seat selection is not an issue. The one seat we did find that was broken, we reported to the manager. We do NOT like that AMC changed their seats, require choosing your seat electronically to some shows and refuse straddling the middle seats even if you arrive early. Staff at the Regal have always been friendly. Several staff members call us regulars and talk to our grandson whenever we bring him with us. The Regal is the theater of our choice when we plan a movie date. We cant justify the price of going to other theaters with newer seats as they charge a lot more.

Heres the deal...I have twin boys that are visually impaired. We have gone to other theaters that offer descriptive video, but we were disappointed on more than one occasion. Most theaters offer very, very limited descriptive video, and it is only offered in a limited amount of their auditoriums. It is next to impossible to determine if a movie is offered in the descriptive video at a given time. We have called in advance on at least two occasions and found out we had been misinformed when we arrived. Now for Regal....they offer descriptive video in every auditorium, for almost every movie. Their web site provides the information that we need, but we can confidently go to the theater and know that when we get their my boys will get the best movie experience that can be offered. The other amenities are ok, but we go to watch the movie and because they offer the descriptive video we dont even bother to consider other theaters. We even went to a Regal Cinema when we were in St. Louis with the same results.

The only thing that prevents Regal 18 from getting 5 stars is because its rundown. The decor needs an update for sure, and the seats inside the theaters REALLY need to be replaced. We do not go there for the decor and seats though. We go there (out of our way) because the service is more friendly than AMC, its more reasonably priced, and Regals Rewards Program is far more exceptional and with way better benefits then AMC! Above all its QUIET! Being inside a casino prevents the younger and noisier crowd from disrupting the movie. The theaters are generally occupied by an older/retired crowd that is much more respectful. This is my theater of choice in Kansas City for sure!

If like to start by saying my wife love coming to this theater. Its got some really big screens and theres never a huge crowd so you can enjoy your experience in peace. The staff is generally very nice though theres only ever minimal interaction, which is fine. I only gave three stars because my last visit. The theater has a moldy, old carnival water ride smell that is a sign that maintenance is severely needed. Yes, its true the seating is claustrophobic and needs updating. And for being in a casino youd think consessions would be reasonably priced. Not the case. So to the owners I say please Update your theater before it becomes a health hazard. Thank you.
