Horrible treatment of customers and mediocre wine at best. I was a patron here on 5/27/17. while i was treated well, i witnessed the treatment on another group that was awful and uncalled for so need to write a review. I know this is a higher end place, but it is right by the Katy trail so they should expect people biking. a group of people that was biking came in and said hello. the man behind the counter muttered something about them to the woman behind the counter and was visibly displeased before the group even started a tasting. if i was them, i would have left when he did this! i spoke briefly with the oldest woman in the group who was really excited for the idea of a chocolate pairing. we agreed the wine was kind of expensive but still enjoyable. it looked like they shared tastings, probably because they were biking (smart!). the most notable thing was that the woman was really excited for the ice wine and said she wanted to make sure to save a tasting to try it last as a dessert wine. the man behind the counter rolled his eyes and completely ignored her and slammed the glass on the counter in front of her (i jumped because he slammed the glass so hard!). i was appalled by how he was treating them but they kept smiling and having a good time. i didnt notice anything else until they got up to leave because even with the terrible service they still bought 2 bottles of wine! im not sure what happened because i was seated too far away to hear, but i heard the man behind the counter tell them to just leave already. they were there a very short amount of time so i dont know what he was talking about... these people were treated horribly but were courteous in return even buying wine...im so sorry they experienced that. im glad it wasnt me but ive already told my friends not to go here. P.S. the wine was fine here and some i did like, but it wasnt any better than surrounding wineries (Augusta winery was great!). it was mostly ok and definitely overpriced...

The service was absolutely awful. We rode our bikes here and were treated like we were far beneath the owner and trash. The moment we walked in before we even asked to begin a tasting the owner rolled his eyes at us and made a comment under his breath. The owner then proceeded to quite literally slam the wine glasses on the counter and ignore what we were saying. This is not to mention that the wine here was some of the least complex we had all day and despite being 10x the price of other wineries in the area, it was the least flavorful. Absolutely dont recommend going here. We bought 2 bottles of the ice wine because it was a good and unique red ice wine that we enjoyed. One of our party went to pay cash and the owner could not make change for a 20 dollar bill, he proceeded to be rude saying we should have brought smaller bills then shooed us away saying just forget the remaining $2 we owed because he couldnt break the 20 dollar bill. We are frequent wine tasters and will NEVER go back. The owner replied to his review below and I want to clarify. We bought 2 bottles of wine and tasted 10 wines. We had 5 people in our party and we all shared 2 tastings for a total of 10 samples of wine which is a common practice when you are tasting at a number of places. The 2 bottles we bought did cover that. We bought the ice wine as this isnt something you can find all over and was good. It is entirely normal at a tasting to discuss with your party which wines you like and which you dont. I was unaware that you must always like all the wine you try. Im not sure what he is referring to when he says we called the wine something... my mom did make a comment that is was a lot more expensive than other wineries in the area but then asked the owner to explain a bit and we all agreed the wine sounded intriguing so decided to do the tasting. My family quite literally doesnt curse so I really dont know what he is talking about but apologize if he misheard something.

Different than any other winery in the Agusta/Defiance area, but not in a bad way! Excellent hospitality and a fascinating story. Lonnie and his wife have crafted a beautiful place and the wines are rich and flavorful. Even if you dont drink wine it is still enjoyable with their chocolate and biscotti. I am so tickled to have found this gem and look forward to making the trip to the Holy Grail Winery for years to come!!

Excellent wine paired with excellent chocolates in a quaint setting. The owners accommodated a special request for my Moms 70th birthday so that she could enjoy the tasting with her daughters. We all really enjoyed it! This was one of 6 different wineries we visited over the weekend and the most delicious. Will do it again!

Wonderful little winery, different from any other in the area. The tastings are a great value and the chocolates that they are paired with are decadent and delicious. Although it doesnt boast the view of some other locations, the small- town feel and high- quality of the wine definitely shows and sets Holy Grail apart.

Spectacular wines! The Bordeaux is excellent, the smoothest red wine in Augusta.

Cute setting and building but the wine was simple and not worth the cost.
