"Inappropriate self-touching incident at Parkway not resolved by management" I was at Pepitos Parkway Parkway Theater on Thursday 9/15 and a theater patron began inappropriately touching himself while seated next to my girlfriend. The patron was an adult, perhaps 30 years old, and was wheelchair-bound. When I informed management, they smiled and did nothing, seeming to assume that I was joking (or something?) and reacted very slowly and disorganized, not sure who to talk to. By the time the management finally arrived down at my seats a few minutes later -- after me -- the patron was just moving himself to somewhere else in the theater when he saw me returning. I should simply have called the police, but I assumed that Pepitos Parkway Theater could and would handle situations like this professionally. In the end, the patron was *not* questioned or ejected, but was in fact moved closer to the stage. When my girlfriend called the following day to talk about the situation with the owner, Joe the owner actually yelled at her (!) for saying that the patron was "creepy". The fact that the patron was in a wheelchair was not what was creepy about him (that is neither here nor there and I am myself disabled) it was that he was inappropriately touching himself in a public place and making me and my girlfriend feel uncomfortable and unsafe, and that the theater did NOTHING. Joe the owner and Pepitos Parkway seem to put the complete burden of proof on women in case of any accusations of inappropriate behavior. I do not feel safe (for me or my girlfriend) at Pepitos Parkway Theater, and you should not either. They clearly have no plan or system in place in case of situations like this, based on their disorganized and machismo-filled handling of it this unfortunate situation that should have been: a) swiftly looked into and dealt with at the time, and, b) apologized-for later. Simple business 101. I am sad to be steering people away from what *could* be a good restaurant and theater, if managed well. They appear to be so afraid of lawsuits on one hand that they are overlooking the possibility of lawsuits on the other.

I love coming here. This place is in a great location on 48th & chicago ave near Turtle bread bakery. Which is also a great place to eat. Anyways I came here for a showing of Fear & loathing in Las Vegas, One of my most favourite Movies, I love hunter S. Thompson & Johnny Depp for that matter so I was really excited that I was able to see the movie on a big screen. Me & my boyfriend Always eat at Pepitos Mexican restaurant which is attached to the theater & pretty sure both owned by the same owner. They have a door attaching the two, I would recommend eating here before the movie cuz it really hits the spot. I love the Fajitas & burritos here, Great & authentic. Anyways The movie theater itself is an older one but it has a great Mexican vintage feel to it from the inside, The ticket prices are very cheap, up to a $3 to $5 :) They offer typical movie theater snacks & popcorn & they even offer beer in bottles or cans! Heres the awesome part, They only have one theater! Its a huge screen & they have regular stadium seating seats, They also have couches to sit on & tray tables for ur snacks & drinks. There bathroom is located on the second floor up the staircase & has a vintage feel to it & over all most of the entire establishment is clean. No other movie theater is like this, Hands down the only one of its kind that I have come across. The staff are friendly & courteous & the atmosphere is just great.

The "Inappropriate self-touching" man in question was not only disabled, but is paralyzed from the waist down, has a catheter and bag hooked up to his "junk", and believed that you could not see down his pants, but acknowledged doing his check before god and everyone. He was questioned and moved from you. Within the crazy hub-bub that this event was; even during the brief intermission that provided the opportunity for you to lodge your complaint, our assessment and actions that were taken all transpired in less than ten minutes, in a room packed to the rafters with a live performance and 400 people. I am not sure of what occurred during your phone conversation, but the owner is acquainted with said patron from years in the neighborhood. But I suppose youre rather set on the purvey-crippled-guy-and-the-evil-theater-enablers-whos-apathy-empowers-suchs-evil-displays-of-piddle-paddle paradigm.

this is a great way to spend an evening in a lovely part of minneapolis. the parkway theater is worth the drive in if you live in the burbs. admission reasonable, snacks good, sofas to watch the movie and there is a restaurant connected for great food before, during or after the show. saw LA VIEN ROSE, and enjoyed the whole evening experience not just the movie. give it a try, you will be glad you did.

Brilliant date spot. The first several rows of seats are all loveseats with tables next to them, where you can set your drink. I dont know of anywhere else in the Twin Cities where you can go to see a movie on a huge screen, while cuddled up with your sweetheart on a couch, holding a big, tasty margarita. If thats not a recipe for a great evening, I dont know what is.

They have a wonderful selection of films... ambiance is great & so are the love sofas in the front few rows of the theater - very fun(ny) and as comfortable as moms house! give it a whirl - this is one minneapolis experience that shouldnt be missed!

Fun, inexpensive (or free) movies and other entertainment in a fairly nice neighborhood theater. You can easily order food and drink from the neighboring Pepitos from the concessions counter, and enjoy it with your movie. It could use better air conditioning - it can get a bit stuffy in the theater.

This is a great place to see live music. I celebrated New Years Eve at the Parkway and had a good time watching and listening to Rhinestone Diplomats, and the wonderful Thunderheads. Parkway does a good job with sound, have added tables up front, and make a wicked Jack and soda!

Very fun for the free Doctor Who Meetups that happen monthly! (Twin Cities Doctor Who Meetup) Havent attended other events here but looks like they have other quirky, fun oddities of sci-fi etc on offer.

A neighborhood institution, great way to see local performers at a fair price. And the movies are exceptional too! Grab a meal at next door Pepitos and your evening is complete.

The concert we saw (Ty Stones James Brown Experience) was AMAZING. The Parkway Theater has good potential but needs a deep clean. Its good for nostalgic charm.

I love the Parkway. It was a bit chilly last night, but the staff are awesome and Billy McLaughlin and Simple Gifts were AMAZING!

Yuck. Falling apart at the seams. Not even adequately heated... However, it does have a little bit of retro coolness to it...

Quirky and filthy. If that is your thing, go for it. Great stage for bands and movies but needs some major revamping...
