The first impression was that, "nice place, liked the feel of the venue with its leather old feel to it," but the first thing I noticed was that there was a table that was flagging down a wait or that wasnt to be found except for the one seating us. The menu is very brief, with spendy prices, and not much output. I was told that they garenteed their steaks, so I was interested in trying their top sirloin of 9 oz. We decided that I was going to split with my dad (for 6.85$!!!) To get a salad (the Caesar was great) and a side (dont got the wild rice if possible and potatoes if you dont like onions). So when the order came after a while, the server put them all out, then I never saw her again. Id say we were done for 20 minutes, after 20 of eating, before she finally came out. I saw the table next to us was interacting and laughing with the waiter and was checked on at a very appropriate schedule, but not with our group of 6 experience. And the steak, a 3 out of 10 if that, it was dry, charcoaled a bit. I will give that the meat was trying to give me as much as it could, just the way it was prepared ruined it. Overall I would not recommend it.

We were traveling with our 2 girls under 2. We reserved a King room and brought our pack n play. The girl who took our reservation, Sam, was very friendly and helpful. We had been here in the past for holiday parties and classes and thought it would be a nice place to stay based on those. We were quite unimpressed. We had to park in a small parking lot which had yet to be plowed from a snow dumping the day before. So there were 4 available spots in the 10+ lot for anyone to park. Next our entrance was apparently the employee smoking spot so we got to walk thru a cloud each time we entered with our 2 mo old and 21 mo old. The room was dingy and outdated. I had some work to do and was unable to as the wifi connection was so weak I could not even check email. Towels werent even on the bars. Pillows were old. Coffee pot wasnt even rinsed out. They did have a box fan in the room which was nice, but Im guessing by the smell in there that it was to help dry a water spill at some point. It wasnt disgusting, but we will never stay here again. Would rather go to the Country Inn or Super 8 in town.

We are staying next door and chose to have dinner from the sawmill. I am in a wheelchair and tried to wheel myself over to get our meal and back with the meal.. The owner "Chuck" was there and asked if he could help me. The staff went out of their way to make sure I had more than enough dressing and sauces for our meal and then off we went back to the hotel we are staying at. The owner was awesome...when it got difficult, due to it being uphill, for me to propel myself, he suggested I hold the meal and he push me. He took me all the way to my room door, spoke briefly to my boyfriend about the family, and to express his condolences for the loss the family has suffered (the reason we are here today) and told us if there was any problems with the meal, we were to call him and he would bring us whatever was missing. True to his word, when I found out they put onions in my meal, I called him and he brought one over without onions! Awesome, amazing, friendly and the food was so delicious, we will definitely use them again!!!!

The Sawmill Inn has excellent staff. Every last one of them that I met was very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. But this building is in drastic need of a refresh. The ceilings in the hallways, entrances/exits are peeling and falling down. The vent in our room is blowing out black dust (potentially mold). Rust was all over in the bathrooms and the wallpaper was peeling off the walls. Our room felt damp and smelled like a pool, even though I was in the furthest corner upstairs away from the pool. The televisions are from the previous century. The pool had a pleasant deep end and I got to witness plenty of children wipe out in a few unintended pools of water that surround the pool. The food was right and the price for the food was decent. Again the staff there was phenomenal. I get the feeling the owner is trying to squeeze every penny (s)he can before demolishing it/closing down.

I recently stayed here and during my stay in found out the entire hotel was closed due to BED BUG infestation. They were closed for days to get rid of the wide hotel spread. With that being said the hotel was filled with pollutants. There was such an overly amount of chemicals to kill the bed bugs. You instantly felt ill with watery eyes, heavy lungs and if you didnt have allergies, your body was fighting chemicals like you do! The hotel is out dated. Theres old ugly bed spreads, flat over used pillows, rust stains and damaged ceiling tiles on the ceiling, probably from flooded toilets above. Carpets were very dirty. Pool was dirty, hot tub was on but kids said it was warm water. Front desk while checking in were rude. Last but not least, the restaurant was very expensive for quality of food. Never will I ever stay there!

My boyfriend and I stayed last night at Sawmill Inn. We waited 10-15 Minutes just to check in, and the guy in front of us told the man behind the counter he would like a new room. Red flags went up immediately. Apparently their room was leaking, and the leak was right above their bed. They corrected the situation and all was well. We then finally got our room figured out. When we got in, the wallpaper was peeling, there was a bald spot in the ceiling, and TV was a small box. The hallways wreaked of smoke when theres no smoking allowed. Overall, not worth 100 dollars a night. Will not be returning and will let everyone who plans to travel up here be aware of this hotel.

Not for everyone... The sawmill is a gem from the era of yesteryear. With lots of exposed wood and rustic furnishings, it fits the area well, but is missing many of the finer touches found in the modern chains today. Beds are not to most comfortable, no refrigerator or microwave, ceiling tiles were dingy and the place felt worn in, but its not the end of the world for hearty travelers. Smoking and pets are allowed in some rooms. On the up side, the staff was friendly and accommodating (moved rooms on request, borrowed corkscrew), restaurant food was excellent, and the pool area was large with many tables. A decent value for the price point in the area.

We got in at 1AM hauling a custom motorcycle and didnt want it stolen. The night desk clerk let us take a reserved parking space infront of the office so he could watch it and so somebody couldnt back up to our pickup and steal the motorcycle. We always stay at budget hotels and have seen a lot of failures, the Sawmill Inn is far from a failure. It was a very nice place to crash. The room wasnt huge, but comfortable. The bathroom was nice sized and clean. The restaurant was nice and orderly and the wait staff was friendly. Very cozy atmosphere and made you feel like you were in a mountain lodge. Would definitely stay here again
