Went there to see Tommy Castro. They had us going in through the out door. Out through the in door. Had two singns that said you have to have a stamp to get back in after smoking of course the signs are on the opposite Dam door than there giving stamps. They knew we had been in there. They have us on video. There poor management and there uneducated pathetic employees And there smart mouth punk a** little security boys would not let us back in. They care nothing about there customers. Its no wonder they dont make any money and proly will not be around very much longer. They worst management i ever saw and i will never go back again. The place is beautiful its a crying shame the place has to be run by a bunch of brain less pathetic hillbillys. I have to say the what i believe to be the owner called us and made my wife feel much better. she was very professional and did the best you could do and I really appreciate that we do feel better about the State Theater now. I still believe the management that they have there is not very good and I believe that the security is rude but Ive owned a business myself and I know how hard it is to get good people. but Stephanie we do appreciate the phone call and your effort to make it right thank you very much.

My fiancé and I adore every concert we attend at the Kalamazoo State Theatre. We have sat in the front row for a concert, and the very last row in the balcony, and everywhere in between. There are truly no bad seats. The ambiance makes even our most loved artists become that much more magical. Who doesnt want to feel like a character out of Shakespeare sitting beneath twinkling stars while soaking in the live sounds of a favorite band? No one. Celebrate the coziness, incredible acoustics, and the beauty that is this theatre! Fox Theatre has got nothing on you, you gem!

I attended the J.Cole Concert and I was very impressed with his skills and look forward to seeing him again. The rating for the theater goes as follows: It was completely trashed when I first entered the building, the members of the security team were rude and very impolite. I was also shocked to find that the manager, Lisa or Betty, was so disrespectful and unprofessional. The customer service on even end was just terrible and disappointing. This was a first and last time I will ever go to the Kalamazoo State Theater.

Love going here for shows so pumped about the show tonight!!! Highly recommend the bar next door called harveys we always go there before and after to get our drinks on. The security is a bit overblown though at the state and can be real jerks at times. One friend was kicked out because he tripped over a womens purse on the ground and they said he was too drunk ...

First time going to the State and most definitely will be back. Kinda has the appearance of being a little run down but for someone like me it just gives me the feeling a lot of history has happened there. Little on the small side but never felt crowded, even after the show ended and everyone was trying to leave. Awesome venue.

The concert was supposed to start at 7pm on a Saturday, but because they dont post the door time anywhere everyone thought the concert started at 8pm. Very disappointed in the lack of professionalism and attention to detail. Ended up waiting over an hour and a half while people kept slowly showing up.

Saw BB King here several years ago with the Bihlman Brothers. Best show ever. Also saw Buddy Guy in October 2015. Too many others to count! Great place for a concert. Old but solid building. Downtown Kalamazoo is a great atmosphere.

Great place to see a show!! Needs a coat check though. Bummer waiting in line outside in the rain for a rock show and having to leave coat in your vehicle. Very helpful staff and a friendly atmosphere.

Great place to see a show, not a bad seat in the house. No air conditioning, so think seriously about a summer show. We nearly died of heat exhaustion during a Ted Nugent show.

Beautiful theatre. All kinds of old molding and decoration. Cool remodeling use for a cocert! And yes it has seats. But you just stand up anyway for concerts.
