Miserable experience at Phantom of the Opera. The audience was packed in like sardines and were audibly complaining about the lack of space and leg room. I had to leave at intermission because the sweaty, overweight man next to me poured halfway into my seat. When I asked the woman at the door if there was any way to change seats she barely acknowledged me. I tried to stick it out, but the layout of the venue ensures an uncomfortable experience. No wonder their tickets state "no refunds or exchanges." Honestly, it would be a beautiful venue otherwise.

Ive attended several different performances at the hall. If you get seats in the mezzanine or balcony you may have better experience if you bring theater glasses. The seating can be cramped depending on your size. These are not Celebration Cinema seats. There is a coat check available, but I have not used it and I assume there is a fee. I am most disappointed with their choice of using Ticketmaster for ticket purchase processing. Know that you will pay "service" fees in addition to the base cost of a ticket for any show.

Excellent atmosphere for this theater. A fine mixture of contemporary and classical elements make the DeVos Performance Hall feel high class without feeling exclusive. Id have preferred a snack selection as robust as that of the alcohol, but I didnt go here to drink. The workers are helpful and the building easily laid out. It does not feel crowded anywhere from the seats to lobbies to the aisles. If you like the theater, this is worth the money.

Make sure to get good seating. We had great seats but the spots in the back can be real nose bleeds. Friendly staff and does not let people walk into their seats between songs. Good beer choices available. Exit signs are somewhat bright, almost too bright when you sit near them. Venue sounded great and is close to some great food. Anything from $10 a plate to $100. Options for everyone.

Consistently one of the best venues in Grand Rapids. Symphony, Ballet, Broadway, this facility holds them all and creates a wonderful environment. Plus my family and I can have a wonderful meal, and enjoy a show all while parked out of the weather - no rain or no snow! No jacket required! Highly Recommend!

This venue was great. The seats seemed to all have an adequate view of the stage and werent too uncomfortable, like they are many places. My only complaints were that it was somewhat difficult to navigate around the inside of the building and there are not sufficient restrooms for the size of the venue.

I saw the live at night Free Beer and Hot Wings show here and it was incredible! Im going every year now. They have a place for smokers right outside which was nice. It was clean, comfy seating, not to hard to see from anywhere. Its a great place to see a show

This past year I got the privilege of seeing the Blue Man Group here as well as Cris Angels magicians and really enjoyed both performances here. It is a more intimate setting that offers you great seats no matter where you are at. Beautiful Performance Hall

Stunning hall. We went to see the nutcracker and had seats in the mezzanine, the view was perfect and the show was incredible! We saw the nutcracker in Nashville last year but GR Ballet blew them out of the water! Highly recommend.

Great variety of shows to see here for all age groups. The hall itself is beautiful. I didnt have any trouble listening comfortably from the balcony, and the seats are raised enough that you can see everything from anywhere.

Beautiful facility. Easy parking in structure across the street. Full house but never felt crowded. Post performance exit moved right along. No bottlenecks. Comfortable seating allowed you to relax and enjoy the performance.

Love this theater to see musical performances. Acoustics are exceptional no matter where you are seated. Small enough venue so you can see the performers on stage. Plus adjoins to the best hotel in downtown GR.

The performance hall was impressive, clean, and seats are comfortable. There is parking across the road, but its worth your time to park a block away and avoid the rush after the show.
