Terrible customer service! My first time going to the filmore and definitely my LAST! I went to the filmore to see Dave Chapelle on my birthday. I purchased tickets online about a month prior for the 9pm show. Upon arriving to the venue the security told me my ticket were for the 7 pm show. He sent me to the ticket booth to see if she could help. All she told me was I made the mistake of buying the wrong ticket and there is nothing they were willing to do. 5 minutes after she told me they were sold out she offered to sell me more tickets. I requested to speak to her manager and she rudely brought out a security guard who told me the same thing....you made a mistake and its not our fault. No ticket refund or swapping out for worse seats. All they wanted was for me to leave the property. The filmore has no respect for paying customers! Thank you for ruining my birthday and making me miss my favorite comedian!!!

The name Fillmore conjures up images of the 60s, but robber barons? Todays Fillmore isnt on the East or West coast, its in Detroit. Situated in an old building, the 1890s to 1920s robber baron tycoons comes to mind. If youre interested in that depression era architecture, you might want to check it out just for that. Otherwise, its a pretty good place to see a show. Not being a musical sort, I cant vouch for the acoustics; besides bands like Motorhead are probably too loud, anyway. Generally, most of the shows Ive been too - quite a few - the sound levels have been fairly consistently the same. Parking is pretty easy on Woodward Ave. Its one of the few larger spaces left in Detroit devoted just to music. Well, they do have the occasional comedy act.

Went here for a Deadmau5 concert. This place is probably great for a Ben Folds Five concert after you drink your ovaltine for desert. You can snuggle up in a nice warm seat with your grandma while listening to the best songs of the early 90s. Qualifying statement: I travel around the world to attend concerts. About 40-50 per year including music festivals. 1. terrible layout for a stand-up or edm concert 2. bartenders are rude and incompetent 3. not enough bathrooms for a drinking crowd 4. drinks were acceptable in price and quality for a concert venue With all the vacant property in this town, is this really the best concert venue in Detroit?

LOVE the architecture. The Detroit area is in huge revival and the downtown and midtown area are booming! The new M1 rail is doing tests and soon will provide transportation along woodward. The theater is across the street from Comerica and Ford field. The new Wings stadium is being built and the pistons will soon be here. If you have the chance to see a concert or show here definitely check it out. The building is really old and it looks all original. Nice to see that they have kept it looking good. Has a nice feel to it and reminds me of how the 50s must have been even though I was born much later.

Besides the absolutely horrid and terribly expensive parking situation, the Fillmore is an excellent concert venue. Security is tight but in all the best ways that leave you comfortable in knowing youre in a safe environment. The seating was maybe a little cramped for a sold out show but once everyone was standing it was perfect. The sound was incredible and the stage was massive enough for all the audio/visuals needed. Plenty of drink stations and a well placed merch booth lead to minimal bottle-necked walking. Ive seen many concerts here from EDM to rap to hardcore, this venue is great for it all.

On July 19, 2014, my wife and I came back to the Fillmore, the place where I proposed to her in 2009, to see the Dirty Heads. From my days working in Detroit, I had the pleasure of getting to know the venues GM, Ben, and some of the staff. When they recognized us, they went above and beyond to extend the most incredibly gracious hospitality and treated us like true VIPs. The Fillmore, for us, isnt just a place to see a show, but a place thats filled with memories that will be in our hearts for as long as we live.

Also known as "the place major acts play that is actually in the city of Detroit". The Fillmore has its faults, but the size and configuration of this venue give a great "up close" feel to any show youre seeing there, and the classic theater atmosphere is awesome. Theres really nowhere you can go in the house and not enjoy the show. Staff is usually very on top of their game for both security and bar service. Oh, and ticket prices usually arent through the roof, even for big shows!

Green Day in this "cozy" of a venue is about the best thing a fan could ask for. Staff was helpful and pleasant. Large lines were handled professionally with no hiccups. I was on the floor, but I cant imagine a bad seat in the place. I live in Pittsburgh, PA so unfortunately I wont make it back often, but I would recommend it to anyone close enough to attend! Parking was even nice, as the baseball field has a clean, massive lot directly across from the concert hall. A++

I saw Lifehouse and then most recently Bone Thugs N Harmony and both experiences were amazing!!! Staff is helpful, and polite. The venue is absolutely beautiful and intimate! Besides an outdoor event, this is the only place I enjoy my space while still being amongst a large crowd, and therefore it is my favorite concert venue!! 10 stars for experience, cleanliness, beauty, and enjoyement!!! I do not know anyone who doesnt LOVE THE FILLMORE IN DETROIT, MI.!!

I was at the Filmore Detroit for the 89X dirty little Valentine concert with the Dirty Heads and could not have been more impressed with the facility and staff with how welcoming they were with myself and service dog. They were constantly making sure I was comfortable. They were very understanding of myself and current situation and I could not have asked for a better experience! Thank you so much Filmore staff! I cant wait to come back!

I went to see Luka Graham on a Tuesday night first the concert was amazing. The open standing area allowed you to choose to stand in the front to experience the band, or sit up in the mezzanine to see everything from a birds eye view. Thanks to the smaller size of the venue, no matter where you are, your view is Great! its also big enough to fit many people. Security was good, and so were the drinks. 5/5 highly recommend.

Fantastic venue for concerts. Acoustics are good, architecture is beautiful, and staff are generally friendly, helpful, and efficient. Additionally, event prices are generally lower at The Fillmore than they are next door at The Fox. Finding parking can occasionally be an issue (particularly if other events are taking place in the area), but there are a variety of lots in the area that are within easy walking distance.

Love the sound and the size of the "State" turned Fillmore. Not a bad seat in the house, but they certainly are uncomfortable. I am a short barely 5 4" and the leg room is null and void. There isnt any. My feet are falling asleep because my ankles are bent in half. Stairs are steep, architecture is beautiful. Be prepared to be amazed but uncomfortable while doing it.
