My son and I had an unfortunate experience with this theatre the other day. On December 26th at 4:10pm my son and husband went to go see the movie sing and unfortunately the theatre was having difficulties because 75% through the movie it shut off and they were unable to get it back up again. At the time the theatre did the right thing and gave us all vouchers to come back and enjoy another movie. Well fast forward to this past Saturday January 7th this time my son and I returned to the Chesterfield Mjr to see the movie Sing again however I had forgotten the voucher that they had given out however, I did have the ticket stubs and receipt for the previous movie. After explaining the incident to the clerk he told me know problem and he would get his manager. After waiting nearly 15 minutes the manager came out and told me that there was no reports of any movie difficulties that day...hmmm...thankfully my 5 yr old son was very obliging and corrected her by telling her what he had experienced. She then told us because I had waited over a week that there was nothing she could do...of which my response was "this is ridiculous" the manager promptly rolled her eyes at me and we were on our way. I just cant believe in his day and age when customer service is such a high priority that there are manager like this...and my 5yr old had to experience it first had. Thankfully with the emagine macomb so close my son and I were able to enjoy the movie again and I explained my story to there manager who just so happened to be greeting customers when we walked in and he gave us complimentary drinks for our trouble. Hopefully the Chesterfield MJR can learn from my experience and better treat their customer before you loose all your business to a competitor.

Everything was going great, Customer service was good (most of the time we go) Usually clean, a bit expensive for the food, but I was still going to give it a 4 star, so why a 3? Well, I was sitting down in the new chair area waiting for my 2 teens playing video games when a young man dark hair with facial hair, a bit stocky working on July 10th after the 11:20 am Minion showing came over near me with the broom and dust pan, sweeping popcorn in the dust pan and then "flicking" the dust pan up in the air near me throwing his garbage around. He proceeded to do this 3 times before I looked up at him and he said "oh sorry" in a very unsympathizing way! I am disgusted with his rude actions and would drive out of my way to another movie theatre before bringing my company to this theatre again! Word will get around due to this young mans actions!

Its clean the workers are very hospitable seats are comfortable bathrooms are very clean popcorn is good sometimes a little too salty on the bedside they do not like giving refunds on the movies do not spend your money on (comes at night) very bad ending and everybody said Rotten Tomato I dont get that one no one liked the movie and Booed It and I dont understand their computer program, they give you a reward card, but you dont get any rewards if you dont have the card with you at the time, but you can go on your phone and pay for your movies so when paying for your movies with a credit card at the counter and you go there so often why arent you there in their computers so you can get the rewards? Or give your name? Or your phone number?

This place needs to be torn down and completely rebuilt. Their theaters offer movies only in 4:3 which has been outdated for at least 8 years. They have gotten new seating, but its half-assed considering that only a few of the show rooms were upgraded. They should have spent the money they used for seating on getting better projectors. In all honesty I refuse to go to this theater that sells tickets for SD quality at the same price as partridge creeks MJR that has 1080p - 4k for all of their showrooms. Extremely disappointing and inappropriate facilities for a company that prides itself on being the most popular theater chain in michigan.

I am a rewards member at MJR and ordering tickets from my phone is quick and easy. Once we get to the theater, getting our tickets is also quick and easy using the app. I would have given them 5 stars, but unfortunately one of the recliner seats did not work and my husband could not put up the foot rest. Fortunately, no one bought a ticket for the seat on the other side of me so he used that recliner. It would be helpful for the theater to make sure all seats are in good working condition before selling tickets for the seats. I have never seen anyone come into a theater with reclining seats and not put up the foot rest.

While we have been customers at this theatre for years and have been pleased with it you this point. I cant say that anymore, every time we have taken our two year old it has been free if she did not have her own seat. Suddenly this morning Im informed thats not their policy which is either a lie or every other theater employee has been wrong. Tickets are already overpriced with no difference between a child and adult ticket. To charge a toddler full price is ludicrous. We will not be going to this theatre much if at all now that we have to pay full price for another ticket for a two year old.

I understand the upgrads, but REALLY, the reserved seating. I go in and the show had the whole upper area a vacant seats but because of this stupid assigned seating they had us sitting n the very first row. I really didnt need to be that close , or enjoy looking up and have my head tilted that far back to see a movie for a hour and a half. When I mentioned it to the ticket seller she instantly gave a refund , all I waned to know was if he show starts a 5:45 and its 5:55, can we still sit in those seats, her response was they are reserved and gave me my money back.....

Never again. Denied my ticket at the gate for no reason because the one we printed wasnt valid representation. Asked for a manager but the ticket guy, more like ticket child, would not leave his post. I keep giving this theater second chances, its already bad enough I can barely hear any of the movies I go see because of the obnoxious audience members, but never again will I bother. I can just as easily drive to Partridge Creek with better seats and more to do before and after the show at my disposal.

Movie was fine but found out the hard way last night about reserved seating. You would think that MJR would have widely broadcast such a drastic change when they started this late last year apparently. We had no idea about this change and only rows available were in front of the screen when we arrived 35 min ahead of show time. And for those who do not have a smart phone or shop online (seniors) they are likely out of luck if they decide same day or day before that they want to go to a movie.
