Im a little older than the typical patron (59) but happen to love metal. Last night was my first time at the Palladium. I injured my knee a month before the show and I was worried about the SRO policy. I called and they were very helpful, providing me a chair with a great view in the upper balcony (I was in the smaller upstairs venue). I saw four bands and the sound was very good for three of the four.Im not from Mass but had no problems finding the venue and parking was directly across the street. My son and I saw Insomnium and Omnium Gatherum with two good local bands as openers. Beer was a little on the high side but it was a small price to pay for 4 hours of music for such a small ticket price. The mens room was fine. You do what you need to do and you leave, I dont see what peoples problems were. This place is definitely worth the money. I want to thank Joy and Kim for help with the chair.....but all the staff were professional and helpful.

The venue is located in the heart of downtown Worcester. The parking is ok and close to the building. This place was once a grand theater with lots of history. Though it has not seen any major renovations in decades and it shows. The bathrooms are gross. The seats on the mezzanine level are worn out. I saw a show in December and there was no heat in the building during the show, even the bands made comments on the cold. The security is a bit overzealous but they at least seem friendly enough. The worst aspect is the sound. It was so loud and distorted that I could only make out some of the songs. It is easiest, the worst sound I have heard in any venue. Unfortunately this is the only major venue in New England that consistently hosts all types of extreme music from small garage to large international touring bands.

Simply put, its my favorite place to check out death metal. Where else am I going to catch Nile, Behemoth or Animals as Leaders under the same roof? I guess probably somewhere else, but the first place theyll be billed will most assuredly be at the Palladium. Honestly, who gives a crap about the employees and delusional bartenders there. Actually, you know what, screw those chicks - they have no talent in distinguishing sincerity from bullsh!t, and that right there, is bullflop. Nevermind about those slags, the place is awesome if you want to be surrounded by long haired dirt balls who dig the good stuff. See ya at Meshuggah. Ill be the one at the bar not getting ANY FRIGGIN SERVECIECEKECLI!:L:LKLK

This place should be torn down. I cannot believe how unsafe, dirty, rundown it is. How about letting people know when buying tickets half of the balcony is closed. No air circulation whatsoever. I was so looking forward to Sevendust last night for 20th anniversary tour and couldnt enjoy myself due to how hot it was, no where to see, sit or stand comfortably. My husbands first Sevendust show and a gift for my best friend!!!!Only one bathroom open, they closed down selling water upstairs at 10:25 when people were practically passing out from the heat. Extremely disappointed! Worst concert Ive ever been to ever! Ive been to hundreds. Unless this place gets redone and fixed I will NEVER go back!!!!!!!

Ive been here two times, the first time I thought alright security and the staff are just uptight. Then I went again, what a mistake, this venue does know how to respect its guests at all. They are a complete and utter joke. Not only is the venue older than the hills, the personnel who run it are trying to run a pre-school. This place should be demolished and the name should be forgotten. I dont know who these people are below me leaving good reviews. But I have been to over 120 concerts at more than 75 venues around the U.S. I would recommend saving your money to this waste of time. Great place for moms and dads to watch their kids play. Bad place if your an experienced concert go-er.

The Palladium is basically the only place in MA that I know of that supports Heavy Metal. The tickets are always cheap / reasonable which is a breath of fresh air compared to the outrageous prices of the garden in Boston. Never used the restrooms in the Palladium, and I dont even dare to. I really enjoy the small / intimate setting of the Palladium, it feels like a more personal experience. Rather than going to the garden to see a bunch of ants play. The only thing that really sucks about the Palladium is the location. Im in the north shore and driving 1 1/2 hours each way its brutal. It would be nice to see more venues like the Palladium closer to Boston.

Only place to see metal in NE and it always sounds awful so Im not sure what the point is. Yeah its run down and not air-conditioned, but who cares if you can actually see your favorite bands. The staff are polite and its not hard to find a good spot or seat usually. Unfortunately you can hardly tell whos playing, let alone what song they are playing, and the volume tends to be high enough to cause intense pain and permanent hearing loss. After they managed to transform Mastodon from intricate virtuosity into an ordeal (Im pretty sure the kick drum wasnt the only instrument on stage, but thats what it sounded like), I probably wont be back.

such place I understand plays music of the devil, but anyways is good and well! all good people who go here, though beautiful, I must caution you for your actions/choices which God may like or dislike for approval! you eternal soul is in your face and hands and how you treat it up to you, but please consider how it ends up! hint you burn forever, very not fun and much unlike fun world music which though pleasurable Wil cause extinction of eternal life! remember that rhesus christ are lord is with us always, and we must not turn away from his live! Jesus love you always friend, take with you this hint and ticket to forever!

The Mecca of the New England metal & hardcore scene. The building is admittedly outdated. The bathrooms are barely usable if at all. They also have a no re-entry policy after a certain time for most shows (bad for smokers). That said, the staff is excellent: Despite the rough crowds theyre polite and take every measure to assure concert-goers safety, even diving into the pit themselves to pull people out. Refreshments are expensive, but there are a wide variety of bars, pubs, resteraunts, and convenience stores nearby as well as ample parking on and off street. A must-see for any fan of heavy music in the area.

Not "the worst," but pretty damn close. Ive seen more shows than I can remember here. Sound is good when its not the house sound... the acoustics are some of the worst Ive ever heard and their staff seems to believe that "cranking it" will make everything better. Actual professionals can pull off miracles here (Medeski, Martin & Wood was fantastic here, years ago), but nowadays its all metal all the time. Avoid this place if you can & go see the band youre interested in at another venue. The staff is rude, the building is in need of renovation, only go if theres no other option.

Perfect metal venue. A once beautiful theatre, a little run down and creepy now. General admission, so you pick where in the theatre you want to plant yourself. Most of the seating on the first floor has been stripped away to make more standing room, but the tiered floors still exist, letting us less Viking-like metal fans get close to the stage, too. Seating space upstairs for those who want or need it, and a bar inside the venue itself so you dont have to step away from the music. All in all a great experience! Will definitely be following whos coming in next.
