Positive: Amazing interiors by Renzo Piano and an interesting collection of works. Very Negative: Extremely rude guards (staff) who tell you off for no reason. Power tripping maybe? Black and old-ish female guard on Level 3 told me not to stand too close to the glass to view the Moon Jar (when I was obviously just viewing normally). Why would I want to put my face in the glass? Also saw her tell another Asian lady off---- "You cannot carry your handbag this way (slung on the shoulder towards the back). It has to be on the side". REALLY!!!??? She was standing in the middle of the room!!!! A definite must visit if you enjoy having your museum experience ruined! They should just close the museum altogether if they really dislike people visiting! Take a page or two from the British Museum!! Nasty!

The building is gorgeous and the collection is is outstanding. However, the guards were very rude to me and my children. Ive been to museums all over the world, and this is the first time Ive ever felt unwanted or talked down to. My children are very well behaved, and if they ever do act up, we leave. They were sitting on a bench calmly admiring a display and a staff member ran up and intervened because he didnt want them to fall and get hurt. Someone else had just told my wife she needed to get a picture because they were being so cute sitting next to each other. Similar incidents happened a few more times before we decided to simply leave.

Surprisingly good, has very nice collection. However, one of the guards there was so rude and yelled at us dont touch the glass which we didnt touch at all. Then she stared at us and tried to see if she can catch any other chances. Also, the admission tags are so easy to lose on clothing. Need to improve their management.

I was surprised at the quality and quantity of art here. Beautiful art that includes Picasso, Renoir, Miro, Etc... The museum is free if you live in Cambridge - dont forget to bring proof of residency. Its also free on Saturdays from 10am-noon for Massachusetts residents. Highly recommended. Its a short walk from the T.

This reopened recently and it is now a beautiful and powerful museum. You could even sit at a table and study in the lobby for a bit, or read a book. It is nice. I would recommend going twice if you want to see the entire collection. If youre a Harvard student, admission is free, if I remember correctly. Way to go!

Did you know BU students get in to Harvard Art Museums for free? Well they do! This is a great set of museums all packed into basically one building, with many religious pieces and a fantastic array of Persian and Japanese art. A great way to spend a couple hours if you are somehow bored in Cambridge.

Surprisingly good collection and the rooms seemed to keep appearing, which was great. Wouldve given 5 stars had it not been for the security guards. We were told (almost yelled, actually) we were to close to a map, even though it was protected by the glass.

You can see a wide variety of art objects, historical marks, get an insight into many epochs. Not deep, scientific insight, but a glance at the art as a whole, at its diversity and extent. Art learning is a never ending process, isnt it?

Collections are strong and diverse, but it feels as though pieces are presented to check off boxes in a textbook. The galleries make it all feel a bit sterile. Worth seeing but quite expensive and Harvard isnt really hurting for money

World class collection in Cambridges oldest little schoolhouse down the road. The new building housing the collection is remarkable in and of itself. There are usually events and tours going on, so be sure to check out the website.

This is a very good museum. Lots of interesting art from all kinds of periods and places. They have some great guest exhibits too. In addition, the building itself is pretty cool, and the cafe is decent.

Good art, however I felt policed by security. They followed me from room to room when I didnt get to close to the artwork and was just casually walking around. Ruined the visit.

I was there for Wolfgang Tillsmans work. I have been charged $10 for admission, and later asked to leave after I lost my tag, which is very easy to lose. It was a sad day.
