The collection in this museum is Stunning! They Have EVERYTHING! Look at the virtual tour on the web site for detailed information. One thing is you can Handle a lot of this stuff. We were allowed to actually encode a message and then decode ON A WORLD WAR 2 ENIGMA MACHINE! Are you kidding? Hands on, Marvelous. Most of the weapons (except handguns) can be picked right up and tried on for size, you can actually get an idea of what an Sturmgewehr 44, assault rifle 44 felt like. That is considered the first assault rifle made. Same goes for Thompson submachine gun, M1 Garrand, just about any long gun from the war. Although you cannot pick them up, the 50 caliber, 30 caliber machine guns are displayed in the open on tripods, you get an idea of how they actually felt.... and we have not even mentioned the sherman tank, private papers of FDR, Churchill, Hitler.... A collection that has to be seen! This place is the BEST!!! I am GOING BACK SOON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am going to enjoy the virtual tour and put on my wish list after retirement. I am a Navy brat, did a little work years ago for the Navy, and particularly missed hearing out on the speaker on the USS Phenakite. I am pretty sure the Art Foundation with the Raise the Sachem Campaign would really, really love to hear from anyone who served on board.( The ship is a mess but still exists...now 113 years old. It escaped from the ship breaker before they could cut her up. Check out Madonnas "Poppa Dont You Preach" video) Anyone know where to find parts for 1936 Packard diesels?

This is an astonishingly good museum - already one of the most interesting places in the Boston area, but destined to be in the first rank of all American museums. This is so not only because the collection is both comprehensive and intelligent, but also because the subject matter is so compelling. The Museum of World War II is a case of making a truly great story of humanity overcoming the forces of darkness come to life in an indelible way.

This collection is absolutely unmatched. The significance and history behind many of the pieces is amazing. I am still dumbfounded by how the owner was able to get his hands on much of this throughout the years. This is by far the most interesting museum Ive ever been to and the most interactive. Not sure of any other museum where you can hold an original MP44 without being a VIP. This museum is a must for any WWII or history buff.

Highly suggest this place, incredibly personal experience, you are allowed to pick up the guns (with trigger locks) and some of the small artifacts, it is small in size but huge in personality and true representation.

If you have any interest in ww2 this is a must see museum. Superb collection. Unique artifacts. Make sure you allow enough time to visit. If you get out in less than three hours youll feel rushed.
