I came for my food tasting, will be getting married here soon. I was expecting the usual mediocre wedding fare. The food was amazing. I didnt like everything (Im the pickiest person in the world) but the flavours mixed so well with each other, the food quality was excellent, the textures and sauces were perfect, the meat was cooked exactly as it should be, I dont eat seafood but the others were very impressed with that as well. Vegetables werent overcooked, good mix of everything on each plate, and the best of all was that the portion sizes were huge. It wasnt that silly thing where the chef tries so hard to make the plate look nice that he forgets to put any food on it. The chef is superb and the other staff were all so helpful and friendly and polite. (Also organized, which helps with wedding planning because I suck.) I cant wait to be back.

Loved it! My wife and I went for a dinner and a movie. They sit your party down with other parties to share a table (assuming you dont fill a table to yourself.) Bring you your salad / soup, main dish / dessert then the movie starts. It was a great experience and a classic Boston atmosphere. We could see the Boston Gardens from the second floor windows. I had the steak - very tasty. We enjoyed the people we sat with. Looking around, it seemed that most people had the same experience. Mostly this gets the 5 stars because it was great fun. Id go back.

Came here for an event, dont get me wrong. This is a classy old school New England establishment. If you are coming here for the environment you will be very happy. The food we had on the other hand wasnt all that great. I had some decent coconut chicken and a few other passed apps that were Ok. I dont know what an event costs here but it cant be cheap. There was also a pasta station, it looked cool but the pasta itself in the cream sauce was just alright as well. Service however was excellent.

I am extremely grateful to Michelle Reid and her staff at the Hampshire House. They gave us a wedding and wedding reception beyond our dreams! Everything from the food, the decor and atmosphere were perfection. The wait staff, bartenders and support team were personable, kind and professional. One month out and our guests are still talking about the Hampshire House and our wedding. I really cannot say enough how fondly I will remember my experience there.

Attended a wedding reception here recently, and was impressed. Very good food and impeccable decor like a throwback to Colonial times -- built-in oak bookcases floor to ceiling, period chandeliers, grand piano in a corner, fireplace, etc., and two blocks from the Charles River in historic Beacon Hill. Highly recommended, especially for special occasions.

Great spot for a baby shower- beautiful place full of history and charm with awesome food buffet! They do it all, just sit back and enjoy your venue! The staff was very helpful bringing gifts out after the party for loading and leaving, and the valet parking was also a bonus in such a busy part of town.
