This review is ONLY for the restaurant for afternoons and dinnertime, and NOT for the pub and music/dancing stuff that seems to go on from 9 PM onward on most evenings. I have no interest in nightlife, so I canot offer a review of the late-night scene here at this cafe. I live about 9 miles from Frederick, and, since 2004, this is one of the very few restaurants that I have consistently find myself visiting in downtown Frederick. I have been visiting Mirage since 2004 (I believe that they opened in early 2004), and, over the years, I have brought a good number of my out-of-town guests here. I feel that that this Middle Eastern cafe is excellent. I find that the Middle Eastern food is very authentic, and I have loved every meal that I have eaten here over the years. The Middle Eastern food is exceptional, and even my friends who were born in the Middle East have been very impressed by the food. By the way,, as of about 2009, Mirage also has real pizza ovens, and their pizza has been very good the few times that I have tried it. Over the years, I had fallen in love with some of their deserts, particuarly the rice pudding, and I was a bit disappointed when they had stopped carrying the deserts in late 2010 or early 2011 because of too-low demand. So, I was very pleased to learn, during my most recent visit to Mirage on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011, that they are once again offering deserts, including rice pudding and baklava. They are also offering more menu items. Over my eight years of visiting this restaurant, I can say that I have only had very good experiences with the waitservers and the bartender(s), and have always found them to be professional, friendly and attentive, and helpful. Overall, I feel that this is a wonderful cafe to visit for snacks, or for pizza, or for dinner, particulalry if you enjoy authentic Middle Eastern food! .

I normally have a great time here but not this time. Our waiter was a trainee so I understand that mistakes happen when you are learning but when we asked the price of a drink we were told one price then given a totally different price on the check. When asked if we could have it changed we were told we could then given a new check by a different waitress that replied "are you happy now?!" Which was very rude and uncalled for. As we left the waitress that was rude told my friend "bye bitches" I know its the end of the night but this is horrible customer service and I will not be spending my money here anymore. We were polite and friendly and merely wanted the check to reflect the price we were told.

I came to the place to get Greek take out. One of the employees is sitting in the lounge staring at me and some other potential customers at the door, which is locked during their open hours. Not a major issue- simply someone not paying attention. However, the place looks dirty, my falafel were burnt, my gyro was disgusting, and the hostess long hair was in my food. I wont be going here again, nor would I recommend that anyone go here for anything besides hookah.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. When you think of a hookah bar you expect a place to chill and socialize. The music here is way too loud you have to shout to be heard. Far from chill. If they want to be a crappy music playing night club they should advertise as such instead of the misleading thought that you could relax and have a good conversation and enjoy some hookah. Worst place in Frederick I have been to by far. Save your money people!

Its ok if you like club type atmosphere. The crappy music is always blaring you cant enjoy the social aspect of hookah. The waitresses are nice but incredibly trying to get the check is an adventure all its own. The favors are ok but all of them have a molding after taste the hookahs are in awful. The only time it seems to each the company your with is early in the day when no is there and the music isnt on. Its a bar that has hookah not a hookah bar.

I just visited there for the first time last night. Its a beautiful place, the clientele were so nice, the owner is nice (and very cute!). Hes starting a belly dance show there on first and third Saturday nights. Its a long drive for me, but worth it because the place is so nice. I will be performing, and other dancers, too. Frederick is such a beautiful town.

I tried this relatively early on the weekend and there was plenty of space. The music selection was on point and it wasnt too loud to have a conversation. The later into the evening you go, the more crowded and noisy it becomes. Hookah is about as good as you can expect and the prices are at a good spot too. Friendly staff from what Ive seen.

Hookahs have been really bad lately. Theyre just dry and make you cough. The owner hangs out on the sofas. He also plays chef when he sends the chef home....he cant even cook wings. Our server was good. She just took forever to bring us drinks when it wasnt even crowded.

Nice hookah bar. The food is average and the playlist is always the same. There is pretty wide choice of hookah. The service is usually nice but dont change of table too often, they dont like it very much.

Great time, Great atmosphere, Great service. Great bang for the buck. I will visit again and again. If you havent gone there yet give it a shot. Laid back place to sit and enjoy.

Great place to let loose. Amazing atmosphere, waitresses are very friendly and humorous. New kick it spot. Open til 2 am. $2 drafts.

Some of the couches are comphy but there needs to be better service from the waiters but they are generous
