Ive been to 8x10 one time around January. I stopped in a local pub just up the street where they make homemade brew. I ended up watching a Lakers game & speaking to someone who had tickets, while there, and was invited along. I wont repeat what other users reported about seating, floor layout etc. but, the acoustics were off the hook. I believe I heard that something was done to the floor during renovation which caused it to bounce (for lack of a better word) more on the dance floor. Im not really the dancing type, but I couldnt help start rocking in this spot. Nice lighting too. On the downside, if you end up trying to have a conversation with a girl, its a dead issue unless you both are cool with screaming at the top of your lungs, but its quieter downstairs (slightly) or outside. Like most clubs they stamp your hand, and you may leave & return at whim. As far as the staff: The bar tender was good people and security seemed to be good with faces, I dont think I was asked to show my stamp once. The ghost was hot on stage and the place was jumping, so props to management. All in all - A 4.5 since Ive only been there once and I wouldnt have minded a comfortable spot where I could hear myself talk. ~They do have a third floor, but its off limits. That would probably make a good chill spot, but I think they want everyone to watch the band, plus it would take more staff to cover a third floor. It wouldnt stop me from going back in the future though, provided the bass was right.

Great venue which is clearly run by people that do it for the love of the music. When they have acts that can sell out the place it really shines. What is unfortunate, though, is that they turn to sleazy club promoters to fill the place on other nights. I get it. You have to compete with clubs that fill the place with just a cheap DJ. Promoters and the club trash girls they bring with them are part of the industry I suppose. It just seems like you could do better. I already wanted a place to go after the Darkstar show. Handing out a flyer after the show would have gotten me to your venue and cost you a lot less than whatever you paid that promoter. Basically what I am saying is ditch the sleazy promoters and find more creative ways to fill the place. People can smell the inauthenticity of the girls they bring, and it ruins your brand as a gathering place for music lovers. It turns you into just another club that is one step away from having the word strip in it. I say all that will love because this place is great.

I went to 8x10 to see Tom Principato play. Ive never been to Baltimore before and was surprised how hoppin the area is there! You will NOT find parking if you come after like 6 or 7, so you will need to find a space in a parking garage, as they say on the club website. The club itself is small but very cozy. They have bandstand on the inner end of the club and 2 floors - you can sit upstairs by the railing and watch the band from above, or you can hang out on the main floor right up to the bandstand. There are no chairs set up in front of the band, so a lot of people just stand. There are bar stools set up along the walls and along the bar - if you get there when doors open, youll guarantee a seating space. If you come 40 mins after doors open, that might be a problem and you might have to stand. Still, very nice club for hearing live music. Fun, safe atmosphere, hip, no drunkies there, clean.

Wow. This place is awful. If you can tolerate the place itself, the people working there will drive you out. We had one encounter with a woman working there, and she was the highest level of rude any human can obtain. She belittled us, and made us feel so terrible in a new place. I would highly recommend that you never give this place any business. I apologize in advance for anyone who will unknowingly step into this unwelcoming shanty they call a "venue". Completely un-relaxed and way too many rules.

Awesome venue. Two fully stocked bars on two levels. Upper level has a balcony with a nice view of the stage. Staff and owner(s) are friendly. Great venue to see jam bands, rock. They have EDM shows as well but Ive never been. Admission is usually pretty cheap, ~$15. It does get pretty crowded when more popular bands play since its not a huge club. Generally friendly and laid back crowd with plenty of regulars. One of my favorite venues in the city.

Great staff and bartenders, always a good time when I go and always a great crowd. I get happy just seeing all the other happy people vibing to good music. I appreciate all the grateful dead shows. I have suggested this place to new people coming to town that I meet through my work and they always thank me afterwards for showing them one of the chillest places in Baltimore!

Pay with cash if you go to this place and dont let them get your credit card. I hardly ever use my credit card but in this case I ran a tab with it.. The music was awesome tho and the drinks where fairly cheap (the dog food was expensive, over two hundred dollars). The acoustics where pretty good considering how small it is.

Great place in Federal Hill to see cover bands from out of town (or a few locals!). Ive been here 3 times and everytime it ends up being a gigantic sing along. there are multiple viewpoints, with my favorite being upstairs looking down on the stage. The bands are always very engaging with the crowd.

Ive seen live concerts here for 20 years... Way back when it was Eekamouse and A.A.E., most recently it was Jim from the Moon ... The music always sounds great both on the main floor and upstairs, the management is very well done, and it's always been a great venue...

Fantastic venue for a show. Very close to The stage no matter where you stand. Drink prices are reasonable, especially if you get there early for happy hour. Just saw night 2 of Cabinet and Horseshoes & Hand Grenades. Sound and lights were dialed in. Both bands kicked it.

The 8x10 is one of my favorite venues in Baltimore. The music is always incredible and the people who attend the shows are amazing human beings with so much Love in their hearts. I have never had anything less than an incredible time here.

I LOVE this venue. The staff is friendly and courteous. The owner is amazing the shows never fail to impress. Ive caught a lot of little bands who have turned into big bands. DRinks are affordable and it has a spring loaded dance floor.

Best venue in Baltimore.... or the world. Staff is so cool. You feel free from the rest of the world there. Great shows and cheap drinks. Never seen a bad show there and never had a bad time. You wont either!

The people who work at the Recher are total douches, compared to the help at 8*10, who are downright genial compared to Recher employees. Also 8*10 usually sounds better imo.
