I rarely write reviews, but after trying this place four times I feel compelled to warn anyone thinking about going here. If you like being ignored and mistreated by inked-up hipsters who know nothing about food or food service, by all means, this is your place. The staff are completely unaware of whats happening on their own patio (including safety issues) and can barely be bothered to look up from their smartphones to offer you service. The "Cubano" sandwich was a soggy mess, dripping with grease and completely unlike the classic Cuban sandwich offered by The Caribbean Grill, for comparison. And this only reminds me of the so-called barbecue here, for which they charge something like $12 a pound. Its also a greasy mess. Ive eaten true barbecue all over the South and Ive never been served so much fat, gristle, and bits of bone, and never for $12 a pound. If this place wasnt one of the few to have outdoor seating in this area they wouldnt have survived a month. And lest you think I missed the point of a *beer garden*, I love beer, but all they seem to serve are extra-hoppy IPAs (bored now) and snooty beers Im supposed to drink from a snifter. No thanks. Do yourself a favor and buy a fire pit for your backyard and some decent beer from Lost Dog and enjoy yourself. Life is too short to spend another minute of it at this lamentable hole.

Great vibe, great rotating beer selection. Friendly regulars, very easy to strike up casual conversations, a plus in my book. Decent selection of wines by the glass, usually one cider on tap plus a few fruit flavored beers now and again. Check the specials board indoors for appetizers, entrées and sandwiches not on the regular menu. Like all restaurants there are a few items that are less good than others (a matter of tastes largely) but some of the dishes really stand out. As of this date, Monday is half price burger night, Tuesday tacos, 3/$10 steak or chicken, steak on Wednesday. Split a nacho platter with pulled pork, order extra (fresh) jalapeños if you are so inclined. If you have children, or enjoy watching kids be kids, the patio in nice weather is really fun. If you want a kid free experience come after 8:00. Ish. A couple of folks have downchecked this place on service. Please note that there is no table service. Order at the bar, either indoors or outside (when open) and your food will be delivered to your table. If you open a tab you can order from either bar. Friendly, affordable, and fun

This is one of Arlingtons best hidden gems. It is a local spot. Most of their customers walk from the surrounding neighborhood - and for good reason. Every day they serve up a selection of some of the best beer in Arlington. The selection rotates frequently, so the chances that youll find something new are great. The bartenders are friendly and knowledgeable, and make fantastic recommendations. They have a great selection of standard bar fare, as well as more exotic specials such as the wild burger of the week (gator, boar, camel, etc.). The atmosphere is family friendly and there is often live music playing on the patio. You will see many families with young kids as well as the occasional dog hanging out on the other side of the fence (dogs are not allowed on the patio). Westover is just slightly over a mile from the East Falls Church Metro in case you want to walk.

This place is so relaxing, and even if youre surrounded by people you dont know it still feels like youre spending time with friends. The bar inside has a large TV with high quality audio and excellent drink choices, especially for beer. If you choose to sit at a table, you still have to order from the bar. Food is always well prepared and delicious, but the website menu doesnt always match whats actually available (there are usually more options offline, including specials listed at the bar). The patio outside has a fireplace, ambient lighting, another bar, more TVs and plenty of benches, picnic tables, and smaller tables where you can sit with your dog while you eat. Free wifi is available.

Ive been here a few times for lunch and dinner with my parents. So far, my favorite has been the brat-burger (on a pretzel bun). We almost always eat outdoors, at shaded shaded picnic tables. The indoors section is smaller, but there are always people at the tables and the bars. Its attached to a grocery store with a lot of different kinds of soda, which you can buy and take to your table. Theyve often got live music, which isnt too loud. Service is generally very reasonable, although its always busy, and theres parking in the back (shared with the rest of the shops).

After hearing rave reviews from two of my friends about this place, I couldnt wait to go try it out last Friday. I was rather disappointed, though. This must be a late night place for young people because when we tried to go around 6 p.m., the place was swarming with children. Now I love kids, but when they are out of control, its not very enjoyable. We got in line for a beer, but as we waited, more and more kids started crying and we decided that if we were going to spend $8 on a fancy beer, we wanted to be somewhere we could enjoy ourselves.

This is one of those rare places where parents can go to enjoy new and different kinds of beer without feeling like they are being judged for bringing their kids along. Pass on the food if you are an adult, but it has ok offerings to keep the little ones satisfied. Youll find much better food across the street at either Lost Dog, Stray Cat, or Lebanese Taverna. So come here for a pre-dinner drink or two, leave for dinner, then maybe come back! Service is typically much better during the day than at night.

For the folks complaining about service this is essentially a self service place...you order your food and drinks from the bartenders and the servers just bring food out they dont refill drinks or get orders. Sanwhiches are big and 10 to 12 bucks...best beer selection around but most are 8 bucks or more. Solid place to chill outside and relax.

Best pub/beer garden food I have ever had! We live in the Westover neighborhood where the beer garden is located, and it is our go-to place to hang and taste some great beer with friends and real estate clients. Hole in the wall incorporated into a supermarket. Fun. Exceptional food and beer.

Great rotating beer selection, good traditional american(burgers and pie) menu (also poutine). Small indoor space, 6 stools at bar, maybe 26 seats at 2 and 4 tops. Generous outdoor seating with 3 fire pits and an outdoor tap/TVs during good weather. Dogs welcome outside of beer garden fence.

Amazing little place for its scope. Not the tidyest place but a great crew, eats served from the markets deli, and with a constantly updated menu of craft bears and hard ciders on draft. Big screen tv indoors and out. Kids are more than welcome. Not fancy at all, more like an ongoing party.

This is the best Arlington bar Ive been to. The prices are decent and the atmosphere is laid back and doesnt have that broey Clarendon vibe. If you are from Arlington youll probably run into someone you know. The fire pits outside are awesome.
