While on a trip to DC with my family we enjoyed walking around about 13 miles total all day. We really wanted Hard Rock Cafe as my dad worked there for many years and we just loved the experience. After walking a committed 3 miles to the Hard Rock Cafe we were greeted by the hostess. Once we could be sat as we were walking in she then decided to mention to us that there was some renovations going on so sorry for the inconvenience. Then as we were being seated she then mentioned to us that there wad also a limited menu. As someone whose worked in customer service for quite some time in the restaurant industry she shouldve told us right away that there would be some limitations and if we would still like to dine there. We were starving and tired so we said yeah no problem(as we were already sat). We waited a couple minutes and I decided to go to the restroom(drinks still hasnt been ordered). I proceeded to ask where the restroom was and a staff member showed me where it was but the door was locked we knocked and no answer. I then walked down to the bottom floor where the larger restroom was and to my surprise there was toilet paper rolls ALL OVER THE FLOOR AND NO SOAP TO WASH MY HANDS. Then when I came back upstairs I checked the other bathroom and it was still locked! With no one in it! The server didnt even do anything about it the first time when she knew it was locked and no one was in there! Lazy! Once I got back upstairs the server was just then taking our drink order! After that he took our order and we ordered one burger (medium) a club sandwich and a Caesar salad. Not only were our drinks empty for most of the time ( until I asked to speak with a manager, but Ill be getting into that shortly) the food has not come out yet and it had been AT LEAST 30 minutes since our order was placed. I proceeded to speak with a manager and instead of taking care of the problem at hand all she did was give us excuses. The cooks are in the basement and your server is really busy running up and down. There were four tables total in his section and I know he wasnt the only server. And if that was the case then she shouldve been more on top of her servers business and helping them. THEN when we asked for refills it still took forever for her to come back with our drinks only for us to hear more excuses. We proceeded to leave as we still hadnt gotten our food and the table next to us got their food before us and they were seated after we were. Disappointed to say the least. Then heres the best part! Your MANAGER proceeded to tell me she was sorry I ASSUMED that she wasnt going to take care of us. She said that to a paying GUEST! If Pete still owned hard rock and he walked in and saw that everyone wouldve been FIRED. As people go to Hard Rock Cafe for the experience. There was a limited menu all night there should be no excuse as to why a burger salad and sandwich should take more than 15-20 minutes. By the time we were walking out she came with the food mind you this was 40 minutes after placing our order. Long story short instead of making me ASSUME she shouldve accommodated us right then and there and all there was were excuses. This will be going to corporate as I felt very disrespected and unsatisfied with the way the whole experience was from the bathroom to our drinks being empty. Unacceptable.

It is a tourist trap, stay far away unless you like tourist traps....and I normally love the Hard Rock, but I will not recommend this one to anyone going to DC. First off I was coming here for a PaintNite with a friend during a stay in DC, figured we would grab dinner before our evening....well they cancelled the PaintNite because of the weather. I call BS on that, while having dinner we watched upwards of 100 kids be led upstairs around 7:00pm, where and when our PaintNite was suppose to be. We had a reservation there so we decided just to keep instead of trying to find some place else on a Friday night. Strike one. Strike two, it was rainy out (cant blame the weather on them). We were given a table right by the entryway and an aisle, every time someone walked by I would get hit by peoples umbrellas or them shaking off their coats, which maybe I cant blame HardRock but I do, just for the pure fact that shouldnt have sat anyone there. Strike three, I thought our waiter had a chance...he made the experience that much worse. He was getting our drinks, he was unsure of my friends order but came back and confirmed, which I thought "yay, instead of bringing the wrong thing he checked." That was the only good thing he did all night. It took fifteen minutes to get our drinks afterwards. We ordered our food and after a good half hour wait our server returned and told us we could get up and look at the memorabilia and go to the gift shop....thanks I just wanted my dinner. When my dinner did arrive after another twenty minutes, it was brought out by another server and both burgers were lukewarm, I had a deep fried pepper on top and it was soggy....how long had it been ready? We finished our meal, and waited and waited and waited for our server to return and check in, my friend finally caught his eye and just handed him the credit card instead of waiting for the check. I guess I wouldnt have been as bothered if the other tables surrounding us experienced the same horrible service but they did not, people who sat down fifteen plus minutes after us had their food well before us, they had had dessert before we had even had a chance to finish our meal. Anyways, unless you want an awful meal, with awful service and crappy memorabilia, dont go here.

For starters we waited a good thirty minutes, which was to be expected as the place was well known, usually packed and we had a total of nine people with us, so it wasnt unheard of. However, what made me mad was the fact that when we went in and said that we were a party of nine the lady working front station looked at us like we were crazy before preceeding to tell us that we would have a thirty minute wait time and giving us a pager. We then looked through the gift shop full of outrageously overpriced t-shirts and apparel. The only good part was one of the staff running the store helped us find a good deal. After shopping, our pager finally went off and then we went to get our table only to find that the table we had been given was open all along and we had waited for no apparent reason other than them to push the tables together within the timespan of 30 minutes! So we are seated and look at the menus which didnt honestly over excite me to begin with. All the choices were soaked in calories and the value couldnt be seen. We ordered drinks from our waitress who seemed like she was on something and waited probably 20 minutes before recieving those and placing our main food order. From there we waited a good 40-50 minutes to recieve our food. One of our party members food was forgotten and had to be refetched. And when asking for refills our waitress forgot what we had ordered and brought us the wrong drink with someone elses straw (as they take the whole glass with them to refill instead of bringing pitchers or simply another glass to prevent this mishap)!!! I ordered the Club Sandwich which included chicken, bacon, lettuce, tomato, maya and sourdough bread. It was not good!!! My companions tried the Twisted Mac, Legendary Burger, Dry Wings and Ceasar Salad and they were all less than par. We had to wait another 30 minites just to recieve our check and pay. By this point we had spent a good two hours waiting around on this venue only to be served food that we did not enjoy by non exceptional service. Wasnt impressed, wouldnt recommend.
