October is my favorite time of the year. It’s a time to soak in the vibrant fall colors, cool, crisp air, and, of course, all the haunted houses. Since 2012, my friends and I have made a tradition to visit a handful of haunted houses each year during Fall. Last year we chose Legends of the Fog and were thoroughly impressed by the creativity of the artists and actors. We decided to go again this year because we genuinely had a good time last year. It was one of the most memorable nights we experienced, not just at a haunted house, but as a group activity this year! The Farewell Hotel combined a suspenseful scare factor with a maze-like design where you had to find your way out through a myriad of rooms, tunnels, and dead ends. The actors added an additional fear factor with their make up and wardrobe. They knew how to lure you into a lull and scare you when least expected. A short film sets the scene for a post apocalyptic world as you wait to enter the haunted hay ride. A selection of Metal and Rock plays in the background at each haunted stop as you near the end. The tractor unloads the audience as you descend upon a dark path with dimly lit flash lights. What lies in the woods was amazingly scary and I remember screaming several times. The creative minds behind this production took the time to be detailed to find better ways to scare you. They added several new props to the attractions since last year and they keep finding ways to re-engineer sheer terror! My only negative remark was how slow it took to get food and the limited choices their vendor of choice had. We chose French fries after finding out they didn’t have funnel cake or fried Oreos. We waited around for a while to get our fries only to find out the friar had broken. The worst part was that they chose to give the last few batches of fries to a few people that had ordered after us. If you decide to visit only one haunted house this year, make it Legends of the Fog. Note: We went in mid October when it wasn’t very crowded and bought the speed pass which enhanced the experience. I am not a paid spokesperson of LotF or, in any way, associated with them; just a lover of Fall and Halloween!

I have went to legends of the fog a couple times and thought it was entertaining and scary. This year I went yesterday on their most popular night, and the wait time was alright, but too long for the entertainment I got from the actors. The first attraction, Sinister Circus, was not scary at all. the actors were funny and didnt even try to scare me. I remembered this one as very scary years before. The second attraction, the haunted hayride was not scary at all, more relaxing actually, and had a long waiting time that was not worth it. Very few actors and let me repeat, nor scary at all. The third attraction, the cornstalkers was horrible. Not scary at all. I was attempted to be scared by two actors, which were not scary at all. As we waited in the line for cornstalkers, we contemplated leaving and taking our time and using it more wisely. Carsons Manor, or the last and 4th attraction was a short wait, but not scary at all. The actors were all children, which should be more scary, but was worse. The set was scarier than the actual actors. My experience overall was good, as I spent it with my family and I myself scared people and pretended to be apart of the crew. But I would not recommend legends of the fog to anyone. I dont know what happened this year, but I dont know if Ill go back.

This was mediocre at best. I would really give it 2.5 stars. I frequent haunted forests all over, and I would not really recommend this one unless you live nearby. Its pricey for the value. Positive: 1) I liked that it incorporated a variety of attractions into one event - corn maze, hay ride, etc. 2) It was close to where I live. 3) The circus was confusing to get through, which I actually really liked. It wasnt intuitive where to go. Made it more interesting. I also liked the room with the doors. 4) The sets were cool as were the animatronics. Negative: 1) There werent enough actors. And some of the costume choices seemed off. 2) It wasnt scary. 3) The lines were ridiculous. And the line to attraction ratio was way off. In between each attraction was another line. The attraction time would take 5 minutes and the wait time would be 20. I think in total we waited 2+ hours. We got there around 10 and it was almost 1 by the time we completed everything. 4) The corn maze should be longer. 5) You are on the Hay Ride for waaaay too long before something happens. I was in the last group on Saturday, and I thought maybe the actors thought it was over and went home. 6) In the circus, half of the compressed air tunnel wasnt working.

Ive been 3 or 4 times, and Ive been surprised each year, because of updates and changes. Came from Baltimore, but right off 95 makes it easy. Went last year during a creepy special event where they passed out flashlights in the haunted house that flickered in certain areas (intense!). The haunted hayride awesome in the fall, because it gets you outside under the stars in the October air. Its a good pace between riding and the surprising scares along the way. The scariest is the haunted house with the haunted walk/maze a close second. My favorite was actually the corn maze, though. Its almost romantic out there in the moonlit stalks (until getting hunted down by a scarer person). The circus was also good, and what struck me the most there was just how themy it was. Neat to see, but it did get a bit crowded in certain spots. Bottom line: go for the haunted hay ride, but also get surprised by how good the other haunted attractions they have. Great overall value *Tip: go on a night they have a band playing for even more value. Listening to a band play while warming up to the bon fire was so harford county and very memorable.

I go to this attraction every year but after last night i dont think I will ever go again. The first thing you go through is not scary at all. Its supposed to be a circus but all the actors just sit and look at you. They dont try to scare you at all. The second is the hayride, they made this all about a fight between two characters. There was nothing scary about this hayride at all. There were barley any actors and the ones that were there just asked you what side you were on! Inferno or Frostbite! Next is the corn stalkers, i dont know what this was supposed to be so im not going to comment. Last was Carsons Manor, this was favorite last year but this year again there were were barley any actors and the ones that were there did not try to scare you at all. They either talked to you and made jokes or just sat there and looked at you. This attraction may be good for very young kids. Its like they wanted it to be funny not scary.
