. Since Boyd gaming took over this casino has gone down to near nothing and thats a fact.Many many high rollers I use to play with no longer go there,jackpots are way to far in between and everything is completely out of wack.I decided to go for a couples night out,food just wasnt what I though it would be for the price.Slots just plain horrible,you could not hit a dime.I spoke to a good bit of people playing,they were saying that things were going down for some time now and no one was hitting anything it was like donating your money at the door and go home.I did see one lady hit 1200 dollars and I told her congratulations,she said she put 650 dollars into the machine to hit 1200..wow..Another lady in the high limits hit 1600 dollars but she also said she had put a good bit of money into the machine to hit that.All in all there wasnt very many people there from what we saw,especially for a friday night.Sad to say but if people dont win a little they wont go back and that seems to be whats going on.They use to have music in the center bar,thats gone.There general manager is gone,maybe due to all the improvements that took place why no one is going.Look folks people want entertainment,some good music,food a day play some slots.Thry know that if they can play for awhile they will come back,but if slots are so tight they cant hit enough to atleast play for a little while.They will go somewhere else,in this case thats whats happening.I was a big fan of evangline but not too much these days,cant afford to go.Whether hope they can revamp whats been changed and get back to business.....

I didnt even stay more than 10 minutes. Apparently, they are having trouble with security not checking IDs at the door and a month or so ago a 19 year old got into the casino. I got in the doors and the lady checked my ID and scanned it and let me in. Then a few minutes later a security guard approached me, insisting that I was under age and to prove to him that I was 27 years old, I try to give him my ID but instead he told me to "hold on" while he talks on his walkie talkie, giving whoever my description and finally, he took my ID and started asking how old and I tell him (AGAIN) and give him my birth date. Finally he gave it back and said, "Well you look 20." So, we left pretty quickly after being harassed. If underage people are getting in because of bad security, its the Casinos problem, dont go around and harassed every 20 something person...its not fair and its discrimination. Nobody wants to have to have to be treated like a criminal because they look younger than their actual age....some people think its a blessing but sometimes it feels like a curse. Never again, will I go back.

i go to Evangeline Downs too often and it disgust me. the penny machines used to pay and play a little now it is a lost cause. you dont win anything the service is full of it. the drawings that go on i feel that is a put on. when there is something to give away everyone should have 1 ticket and put it in a hopper. As for that stupid 5 dollar crap that dont uall should be ashamed to send or give that. A lot of us (the same dummies) go give our money with nothing in return never. i go to the other casinos and they send me tickets for free rooms and free food and money sometimes they send me 50 dollars a week compairing to 5 dollars. pityful! i thing this place needs to close up and regroup. i think that is the only thing that would maybe help. The owner or the one that runs this place needs to put himself out there. get out your office and get on the floor and talk to the people feel what is going on. no ones knows you so get on the floor and see for yourself then you will know more how to change it into a better place for everyone.

The hotel was great, very friendly staff and very clean, free breakfast was good too. The buffet was horrible. Went there about 7:30 pm, for four adults and one toddler charged us about $70. Then the food was cold and was old. the white rice alone was hard and stale and the salad bar was dirty. Insisted they refund my card which didnt show up for about a week, right after putting my refund through, the girl at the register tells me ( i kid you not) "next time just ask to walk through and see the food first" The casinos alright, very friendly staff, drinks are a little pricey at the bar on the floor, but the bartenders very friendly too.

Yesterday (5/21/17) we were visiting your casino. I had left a machine to join my wife where she was playing. I left my players card in the machine I was playing . Im old and on oxygen so my mobility is rather limited. One of your floor personnel known to us as Mr. Joe, went on a search and finally brought me my card. We have known Mr. Joe since he began work at EVD and has always been helpful and courteous. This incident however exemplifies his performance and approach to customer service. He is a true professional and an asset to EVD. He is the type of peson you need to make a success of the casino.

Barely saw our server, very little on the buffet for the first trip, practically nothing was on there for trip 2. Food was cold, and eh definitely not worth the price. They close at 2 and we were not told this when we payed. Save your Money and go to McDonalds, Im sure the quality would have been better. I would not recommend this place to my worsted enemy. We were so upset with the service at the buffet that we did not stay to play the slots.

Evangeline is the last stop before the horses end up emaciated to be put on a slaughter truck. Most recent one was a TB who had just run at this track and sent to kill buyer mouth ulcers, abscesses, had been pelted with bricks. Had a twisted gut, laminitis and in severe pain. Got their last ounce out of the horse - $200.00 is going slaughter price. If you go to t his track you are subsidizing cruelty. It is well well known for its cruelty.

The staff is great very nice people but the machine take your money quick when you do get in a bonus it dont pay out hardly nothing 50 free games 84 cents really Im going back to the boats at least you can play while before losing a couple hundred but not Evangeline lost that in 25 minutes not fun. I dont care to win but I do like to play awhile without it costing a leg
