First day I went was on a Monday. I stood around for like 15mins before anyone helped me. No one was manning the cashier/shoe rental booth when I entered, but after someone showed up eventually. I enjoyed my self upstairs with my beautiful sever by the name of Roslyn. She was cute :) I went back on a following Sunday 2/2/2013, and there were 5-7 workers just standing and talking by the cashier/shoe rental. They were friendly. I arrived at 11pm, and when I asked to bowl they said they closed all the lanes down stairs, but told me I can go upstairs.. Mind you the place says it closes at 1am on Sunday. So, I said thats cool and I went to go bowl upstairs, but once I got there no one was manning the desk. So, I came back downstairs, and they told me they closed all the lane upstairs. Mind you they just told me to go upstairs...smh.... So, they opened a lane downstairs for me which was cool, but I rather been upstairs. The server I had wasnt that great and really pestered me the entire time I was there by continually asking me was I ready to go and I am ready to pay the bill...smh....As soon, and I mean as soon as my game ended they cut the music off...LMAO! I felt like they were telling me to hurry and get out. Nice looking place, I love the décor, but they need a mature staff. I dont mind being served by young people, but there has to be a mature person on staff to guide them or else you going to have them goofing off like they were when I was there. This place could be potentially a great place. But, the service has to match the quality of technology and beautiful décor. I love how its laid out. It looks beautiful. I dont bowl at all, the beauty of it drew me. I was hoping this could be a little past time for me to escape a little bit....Until management improves the quality of service...I wont be back.

This place is very disappointing. For starters the bowling isnt amazing, but they charge you as if it were. The food is gross and overly expensive. However, what really gets me is the age discrimination. This place has been so successful because its in the middle of soccer mom land. Theres no where for these middle aged adults to flock. So they go to the bowling alley. Knowing there are limited places for adults they restrict the entire second floor to people of the age 21 or older. No big deal, except the majority of the entertainment is upstairs..... They dont even have pool tables downstairs.... I tried taking my brothers up there to play pool and they refused to let us in. Like a bartender would be dumb enough to serve alcohol to some 10 year old..... If they really have to restrict the second floor off because their bartenders cant be bothered to ID check, maybe there is another outlining problem here...... Screw this place, king pin lane believes everyone should be able to play pool, and is 20x cheaper than this over glorified bowling ally. Like seriously. someone please open up a club or something in Midlothian. Im so tired of hearing "Were going to go turn up at Uptown" Like wtf???? Theres literally nothing else that people have to party at a damn bowling alley.... Its kind of sad. Thats why this place is so successful because its essentially cornered the market for weekend entertainment of people 21+ which is a shame. I live 5 minutes away from uptown but would rather drive down to Richmond for a good time and go to an actual club or bar....

Sad part of this whole experience is Ive been going here for a couple years and the service has been declining, this was the worst. While waiting for the rest of our party tried to go into the downstairs bar was told we couldnt sit there because it was closed, at 7pm, when I asked why the girl just shrugged and said she didnt know. Went upstairs to get a drink, asked the bartender there and he was just as surprised. Started bowling, waitress comes over with menus says shell be right back...20 minutes later and asking 4 different people walking by for service she finally comes back, by now we are in the 7th frame. By the time the food came we were done with our first game and part way through the second. It the 7th frame of our second game it stops and have to go to the desk. So I asked for 2 games for 2 people, instead he gave me some "deal" where I ended up getting 2 $5 video game cards I didnt want or need and only a game and a half. Was told that that was cheaper and included the shoes... First rule of sales, dont sell out of your wallet, I asked for 2 games for 2 people not some deal.

Uptown Alley landed in Midlothian with a splash, or should we say "strike?" The massive new bowling and entertainment facility is definitely a step up in the category of local bowling alleys. The two story complex includes a games arcade, a family friendly restaurant, and bowling lanes downstairs, with more lanes and an adult bar with space for bands to play frequent concerts on the upper level. The decor and facilities are top notch with a nod to a "Vegas" styling. While there have been murmurs of service issues, our experience has been great and we have to assume that the complaints are from start-up glitches with new staff. The food has been very good (still in the okay range rather than gourmet), but perfectly suited for the style of venue. The lines get long on weekends and whenever a local band is playing, which seems to be frequently, but we see that as a strong vote from the community that this is a welcome addition to Midlothian and Chesterfield.

I went a slow monday so i cant speak for all the others who went on the weekend. anyways me and my group of 6 went bowling there for the first time and had a great time. the special that night was a 28oz Shock Top for $5. so not too bad. i did the downstairs bowling (didnt get a chance to see upstairs) i was expecting a little bit more variety for the bowling balls, but they werent too bad. theres like 5 standard sized balls ?? honestly the good time was probably because of my friends and the memories we made. we had a fun time, and no one minded that we were somewhat loud. not obnoxiously loud (the music is blasting in the background anyways) but you know... it was fun. ass for the staff i see everyone complaining about. we had a mid 20s guy and he was fast and attentive. brought us our food and was friendly and respectful. we gave him a fat ass tip.

Fun place to bowl, but their concept of adding restaurants suffers by a lack of good service and a slow kitchen during off hours. It took 20 minutes to get a plate of cheese fries. During peak hours, the place is packed beyond capacity, and waits for lanes can run very very long. Game room is fun, and run like a high-tech chuck-e-cheese. You get a card and put money on it, then use the card to play the games. "Tickets" won are saved to the card and can be redeemed at present or future visits. If you time your visit right, and even keep an eye out for specials, this is a great place to go bowl. TVs are great, lanes are clean, and bumpers can be selected for kids. If this is your one stop for a date night, expect long lines friday and saturday night and crummy slow service from the kitchens at other times.
