If youre looking for REAL-REAL Mexican food, then this probably isnt the place for you. Theres the typical queso dip, and fajitas and stuff, but it tastes good. The portions are nice sized and the food is actually quite tasty. Pretty much anything on the grill is good. Its kind of hard to find; its in a little outlet-thingy next to wal-mart. My friends and I go every Thursday night; its out margarita night. The margaritas are REALLY good, the smallest (16 oz) TOP SHELF margarita is only $7. You can get them frozen or on the rocks and they have good flavors too, like mango, pomegranate, raspberry, etc. OH, and Monday through Wednesday is two for one margarita night, so definitely try to check that out!!!

I USED to really like this place, even though I sometimes felt unwelcome because they liked to try to seat me in the back by the bathrooms even when there were no other patrons in the place. When I went there yesterday, the food they served was ice cold, the margaritas had a funny taste to them, and two of us became violently ill later that evening. I will never go there again. You are taking a chance with your health if you eat or drink there.

Great food and great service. Prices are reasonable portions plentiful. Everything Ive ever eaten here has been good and we eat there on a regular basis. Whoever says that taco bell is better apparently enjoys eating food out of a trash can and doesnt appreciate good quality food. Its definitely worth driving the whole family out to Central for some good food. Ive eaten at Casa Marias, Las Palmas, Cactus Cafe and El Ranchos and I prefer CALIENTES.

The food is awesome and the owner and managers are so nice! There is another mexican restaurant in Central that does nothing for the schools. Calientes provided all the teachers in Central lunch during teacher appreciation week last year. The other one did nothing and wouldnt even give a $25 gift card for a door prize. Calientes is always doing something for us! They ROCK! Will only eat mexican in Central at Calientes!

Tonight was the first time I have eaten here and I must say that I am highly impressed. Everything from the atmosphere, to the service, to the food was most enjoyable and very relaxing after a long, stressful day. I am glad to have this wonderful restaurant in Central!! So convenient to my house for an excellent meal! The price is right and the portions are definitely plentiful!! You can not go wrong with Calientes!

Just left Cinco de Mayo and I am not happy. I paid $9.50 for a medium top shelf margarita and I am not a big drinker and I am still normal. If I would have went to TJ Ribs and paid $.99 for four margaritas, I would have really felt endearing toward the Mexican/French Revolution. Im just saying. On Cinco de Mayo, you really have to bring it in the Margarita department and they didnt do it.

Caliente has amazing food. I have tried other places and no one else can come close to Caliente! It is by far my most favorite Mexican restraunt and I belive it will be for a very long time. The prices are fair for the portions you get( which is A LOT) Everything is amazing, even the margaritas :) you wont be disapointed!!! A former Employee and loyal Customer!

When Calientes in Central first opened the food was really good. The service has never impressed me at all. The past two times Ive been there lately(in the past year) food has arrived cold and not as ordered. My husband had something made with shrimp and spent a terrible night with intestinal distress. I will drive into Baton Rouge next time.

Sorry, Baton Rouge, but if you want the best mexican food within a 50 mile radius youre going to have to make it out to Central to Caliente Mexican Craving. The food is outstanding, the drinks are ice cold and delicious but the friendly service is what stands out among all else. Highly recommend!

We used to love this place years ago when it was their only location. After opening the 2nd location the prices went up and portions went down. The place needs an update as well. The mens restroom feels like a gas station toilet. Sad its gone downhill. The service was good though!

They have a new dish Chicken Rolls, its simply delicious, I never saw this kind of item in another Mexican restaurant, it become my new favorite. My family and I love this restaurant, everybody is friendly and polite is our regular stop for Sundays.

Best Mexican in Baton Rouge! The ingredients are fresh and a lot of flavor. They have a fun atmosphere with karaoke and live bands weekly.
