My grandchildren, who live in Walton, KY, NEVER miss a chance to start barking, "Lets stop at "the farm", no matter what day of the year it is and regardless of weather conditions. Im 60 years old and was raised in West Virginia with farm after farm literally out my back door. I know the excitement of being a child and chasing (and be chased by farm animals. With the number of farms and the size of farms rapidly shrinking, our children dont have the chance to see what a working farm with a family running it for several generations is like. My grandchildren literally shake with excitement when they get to pet the goat or milk the cow. And the pumpkin on their front porch has been grown at the Benton Farm for the last 5 years. The amazement you can see on their face as someone from the Benton family explains how chores on a farm are done is worth the drive and getting blown with than cool autumn that often has mist or rain mixed with it. If you have children or grandchildren, or if youve never had a chance to "go down on the farm", I highly recommend going to the Benton Family Farm during the times it is open. The hour or two youll spend walking or riding the horse pulled wagon will be some of the most relaxing and fun time you can have on an autumn afternoon. Most of all, the "thank yous" and "I love you mommy and daddy" (or nonna and pappap). I highly recommend seeing this local treasure with your family whenever you can.

Benton Farms is a very nice place to take your children expecially on a field trip they teach the children a lot about how a working farm really works its very important for children to know some of the basics in life such as where does milk come from or how chickens lay eggs..the kids had fun it was a little chilly weather but besides that a nice place.

Left much to be desired at the family outing. Egg hunt didnt have enough eggs and many kids went without. As well it wasnt well organized either, could have been done better.
