Horrible experience!! This place ruined my daughter 3rd birthday celebration. They have you pre pay in advance for everything which is fine, however what they did not mention that they share parking with other festivities that can take place as well! When we arrive for my childs party there was no where to park for Any of my 21 guest. I had to carry her birthday cake 3 blocks not to mention the mile it took to walk thru a street fest with a 3 year old. There was no private entrance for birthday partys. We had to wait in line for another 45 minutes with the general public with caused us to be late be for my childs reserved table time. Customer service was poor, the unlimited rides I paid for in advance the closed them at 4pm so none of the kids got to ride. Our party hostess was no where to be found! This was a very disappointing experience I wouldnt recommend to any of my friends. For the amount of money Ive spent the experience was HORRIBLE!!!!!!! SO MONDAY I CALL TO SPEAK WITH ASHLEY WHO RSVP MY CHILDS PARTY EXPRESSED MY CONCERNS THERE WAS NO SYMPATHY WHAT SO TO MY HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE ALL SHE SAID "THERES NOTHING I CAN DO" IM THE ONE ONE WHOSE OUT OF $712.76!! SHE THEN TRANSFER ME TO HER MANAGER WHO BASICALLY TOLD ME "FIRST COME FIRST SERVE AND WE SHOULD HAVE ARRIVED AN HR EARLY" FIRST OF ALL WE WERE AN HR AND HALF EARLY, WHAT GIVES HER THE RIGHT! WE EXITED THE HWY AT 12PM IT TOOK AN 40 MINS TO FIND PARKING!!! AND ANOTHER 30 MINUTES TO WALK 3 BLOCKS WITH 3 SMALL CHILDREN AND A BIRTHDAY CAKE, THEN TO WALK IN LINE WITH GENERAL ADMISSION CUSTOMER!!! MY CHILDD PARTY WAS 1:15 TO 2:45. THERE WAS NO ONE DIRECTING US TO THE PRIVATE AREA!! I AM BEYOND DISAPPOINTED MY FAMILY WILL NEVER COME BACK!

Got in with the city pass and that was great! Was told we could buy tickets for the elephant feeding at the elephant exhibit.... Circled around for an hour and 45 minutes finally saw some one across the elephant pit and they said tickets were sold out. I had called at 1:00 to see where they were and the lady said it was 1:45 and I could get tickets there. 2 people said there were open spaces and guess what hours wasted 3 carousel rides later and we didnt feed elephants. All they had to do was check for open spots and not tell me there was when there wasnt and we could have at least fed the turtles but we missed that waiting around for the elephants. The lady I delt with via phone(not in person) didnt seem to care and her sorry s sounded fake. She did nothing to make this better or offer anything for all the screw ups HER people made. Then a zoo volunteer who heard everything that happened followed me outside and said how sorry she was and how messed up the lady was. She then offered to walk us around and tell us all about the animals. We said we appreciated it but we were in a bit of a hurry now and she went on her way. 20 minutes later she found us with some one who worked there and said this lady was great and she wanted to make things better as best she could. So she took us to a spot had us sit and brought out the cutest bunny (my girls didnt wanna touch a snake or lizard) so she found a bunny named pumpernickle. Things got better after that. I just wish we hadnt wasted hours because we could have been to our hotel before 10:00 and my girls could have gone swimming.

Fun zoo! My kids loved it. A bit exhausting but all of us had a good time. Definitely worth spending a day at the zoo. The only negative part which I hope the zoo authorities would read and try and implement this change. No first aid kit at the Wild Planet Cafe which is at the farthest end of the park. My child scraped and bruised both her knees after a fall. I washed her wounds immediately and went inside the cafe to ask if they had a first aid kit? The manager came and said that they dont have a first aid kit and I will have to go to the security desk at the front of the park to get one!? Knowing that zoo caters to mostly kids - wouldnt the zoo authorities at least keep first aid kit in multiple locations? I did manage to find couple of band-aids in my wifes purse after my interactions with the cafe manager and apply it on my daughters knees. Towards the end I also made it a point to complain at the security desk at the entrance of the zoo. However the security personnel told me that the cafe manager should have radioed in for help and the security would have come out to the cafe in a golf cart with the kit! Doesnt this seem silly? You have to get someone to come all the way from the front of the park to the farthest end of the park just to bring a first aid kit? Parents - make sure you carry a small first aid kit in case of an emergency - This zoo only has one which is in a safe (pun intended!) at the entrance of the park! Note: My 1 star is for the unavailability of medical kit (bad management) and not for the wonderful animals at the zoo!

While on our family vacation the zoo was a must for us . Having two kids plus we love to see different animals its a nice place. Then our family had to become part of something that is happening in this world today. One of the works there was just plan out wrong for the way he acted towards me while holding my two year old parking the stroller in the area for them the train had came to a stop and everyone was unloading my wife and son had already took their seat as I turned around the worker told me to get back in line since I didnt wait for the train to stop and the lady behind me did the same thing. nothing was said to her . as I stood back in line where no-one was waiting to get on i asked if I could park the stroller and get on then he started using works kids should not hear from anyone working rides I asked him not to say words like that in front of my kids and then he got in my face while holding my two year old acting if I had done something wrong which I had not. the others on the train was trying to help out but it only made matters worse. we didnt get to ride the train and I did let them know what had happened . I was asked if we seen all the animals I told them no. They then told me they would give back the money we paid to ride the rides which was never put back on my card. the trip to the zoo was not a fun filled day like we had hoped it would be. if ever back in Atlanta our family will not ever go back. reason nothing was done to fix what happened to us while there for a family vacation from a different state.

I have been to numerous zoos around the United states and this one hurt to see. I felt terrible for all the animals here. People in jail have more freedom than the animals that people pay to see here. Alot of the exhibits were closed and it wasnt even a really hot day . The zoo was more focused on human comfort rather than being more of an experience where you can go into there habitat more. At some of the zoos I have been to they have walkways across the exhibits and have alot more room for people to watch the animals in bigger play areas where the giraffes or rhinos could get a decent gallop in and truly enjoy their time in captivity and let zoo goers see them in a more natural state. Even a place where the bigger birds could glide from the top to the bottom of their exhibit. Some of the exhibits had pretty open areas where people were letting there kids hang off the bars and stand on the arm rail that overhangs the animals where they could easily fall in. The electric fence as a deterrent for the gorillas and orangutans seemed extreme compared to other safer designs that could have been explored for safety of the patrons and the animals. It was small and for the price I felt pretty ripped off when I can walk across the whole zoo in a matter of minutes. I did like the reptile area I liked that It seemed appropriate and acceptable for the animals there.
