The boat was beautiful but our experience was not good. We went for the Belles 100th anniversary cruise last weekend and the boat was very full. You would think there would be plans in place to host a large crowd, right? Evidently not. The staff was very rude and literally forced friends at our table to sit somewhere else and plunked down people at our table we didnt know. The staff person who did this was loud, angry and in our faces as well as our friends faces. She kept saying it was open seating - if that was so, why couldnt we sit where we wanted? The food ran out almost immediately (if you could even get to the food table in the crowd) and the staff was once again uncaring and unhelpful. One of our friends is gluten free and diabetic - she had called ahead to make sure there would be food for her, but there wasnt. We loved the boat itself and highly appreciated the engineers taking the time to explain the machinery to the guys. But the rudeness of the staff and shortage of food made the whole trip unenjoyable for us, especially since it was supposed to have been our present to my grandparents for their 60th anniversary. No one had much fun.

I thought online info was confusing so I called - lovely ladies helping and solid recommendations. We opted for the tour with no dinner, grabbed a bite in town beforehand. Good selection of drinks with branded alcohol, and bartenders are great. But get your souvenir drink / glass early, as they sell out. :( Also - super loud music - kind of ridiculous in a cabin when most people are on the upper deck. Plenty of snacks on board, and branded tchotchkes if you want to buy them. They offer a group photo as you board, only $6/photo so not v expensive, and well done.

She is the oldest operating steamboat in the world. Where can you ride up and down the river on a paddle wheeler and see such beautiful scenery? The Belle now has air conditioning, and a buffet is served if you want to go the expense. My grandkids loved the experience. The weather even rained at first. So, we had this wonderful mist blowing in the wind for awhile. It does have stairs you must climb, so you must be physically able to do this. You got to see the engine room what makes the paddles turn Wonderful experience turned out a great day.

I LOVE sailing on the Belle. I am a homeschooling mom. We took two groups of homeschoolers to sail on the Belle. The cost was great the sail was great. The only complaint I have isle were there when the YMCA kids were there. For those field trips they hire a DJ to play music. Some of the music was fine BUT, some of the music was SO inappropriate. Considering the DJ is playing for children, one would think there would be some thought to lyrics. Id steer clear of a field trip over the summer if a DJ will be present...

We did the dinner cruise. The buffet was not bad, certainly plenty available. We expected a more interesting description of history along the way. It was more of a dj party with the mc spinning anything from 50s tunes to hip hop. And making lame jokes. The bluegrass music would have been appropriate quiet in the background so the disjoint tunes were just annoying. We sat on top and enjoyed the ride. Weather was great. I am sure kids would be bored.

We had a wonderful dinner cruise on a Thursday night. Not a ton of people so it was easier to move around. Dj tom was a wonderful tour guide. I would suggest day cruise times for children or make sure they are well behaved. Someones little girl last night was annoying and kept coming over to our table while we were eating. Some people need to learn to control their children better. Other than the annoying child, the night was absolutely wonderful!

I think this place is expensive for what you get. Unless your having supper your nothing. You have to book supper reservations 3 days in advance even if they are not sold out. Rude people. They play music point out about 2 or 3 things on the river. $106 for 2 kids 2 Adults and 2 seniors. I will noir waste my money again.

Great childhood memories of this boat cruise with the Belle of Louisville. Whenever I have friends visiting from out of town, this is one of the treats to take them too. Nothing like being on a steamboat going down the Ohio river. No matter what time of day, the view is awesome. I prefer the sunset time range myself.

Belle of Louisville is a historical steamer that you should visit. The boat was built by "James Rees & Sons" Company of Pittsburgh in 1914. It operates from the city of Louisville in Kentucky and it was called IDLEWILD in the beginning. I f you want to know more, if you like discovering, just go ahead and visit it.

VERY pricey my friends and I. We did not have a good time onboard. We went in late July which might have been why. It was uncomfortably warm and there was not much sightseeing as had been advertised. The 3 times the captain used the speaker to point things out, we could not hear at all. I would not do this again.

We attended a craft beer tasting and this was amazing. Only 20 a piece and my husband and I attended 10 tickets each for us and it was plenty. Great service at the ticket office, staff on boat, and so beautiful. It had been years since I had been there and very clean. Cruise was amazing

Some of the worst most flavorless food Ive ever had the displeasure of eating. They use different cateres, our was United Catering so if your going to book, make sure they are not the ones catering your trip. Truelly awful food. No wonder its all you can eat.. ..

A fun ride with an engaged crew. Well cared for truly historic vessel. Beautiful weather helped, but weve been on the Belle many times over the years and it is always fun. Food keeps this from 5 stars, its standard touristy food.

When I first moved in to Louisville, I took this cruise and learned about history of this town and the Ohio river in one hour. I loved that view. No matter you are a tourist or a local you should take a ride. Its fun.

Fun ride, get to see downtown from a unique point of view. Didnt try food or drink. Historical gem. DJ was too loud, should have nice music on deck and leave indoor area for loud current music.
