SHORT REVIEW: Great haunted house! It strikes a good balance between terrifying horror and a fun atmosphere for friends. The haunted houses are really well done and the detail is very good. If you are looking for the most horrific haunted house in Indy, you may want to look elsewhere. But if you want a fun time and some really solid scares, this place is the best. Indy Scream Park is a solid haunted house experience for Indianapolis. It strikes a happy-medium between the raw terror of Necropolis and the festival atmosphere of other Halloween events. When you first walk in, you are greeted by the distant sound of screams, gunshots, and chainsaws. There is some sort of flame tower in the distance, some in my group began panicking immediately. After redeeming our online tickets (saves $$$), you enter the midway, which is great! For my girlfriend, who was beyond terrified, it was a great place to chill and lighten up. In addition to food and drinks, they have a few really nice fire pits which gave a nice bonfire feel and had top 40 music playing on the speakers. They have a few classic horror characters walking around doing a nice mix of scaring and making jokes. For instance, Jason and Michael Myers had rubber chickens and Freddy was fond of dancing to the music. The haunted houses themselves were REALLY well put together. I could go on for hours so Ill stick to short reviews. The only Haunted House I did not get to go through was Nachtmare because we got there late and the indoor haunts were closing soon. Keep in mind, I am a huge horror fan who is somewhat hard to scare, so assume it is scarier if you are easy to scare. For perspective, there were plenty of people sitting out of Haunts because they were too scared to go in. Brickmore Asylum: Really well detailed, felt a lot like an actual asylum and all the props were completely right for it. A few solid scares, but mostly a lot of atmosphere and unpleasant people screaming at you. There is a VERY impressive set piece at the end, but it is not all that scary, just impressive. It is fairly well lit, which hurt it in my opinion, but that helped bring out the insane detail they have in there. Bedlam 3D: The second half is a lot scarier than the first. The first half has a few animatronics and the trademark 3D paint, just a lot of buildup. Then the clowns come. Lots, LOTS, of clowns. There are enough props, situations, hiding places that WILL get you at least once. It is certainly a sensory experience, both visually and physically (no they wont touch you, but there are other tricks they have). Infected: In my opinion, this the the best of them all. My childhood fear of creepy cornfields did not help. Most of the haunt is made up of a surprisingly claustrophobic corn maze-ish layout. It is broken up by military tents with infected civilians and soldiers and scenes of grizzly death (dead bodies in various states of decomp and death). You can see what looks like a large house in the middle of the cornfield. Yes you do go in there and it is great. Claustrophobic in a way that I felt every other haunt was lacking. Again, the detail here is awesome. A final note, Infected told a story the best. All of the haunted houses have a large amount of story given on their website, but none of them got that across in the haunt, except for Infected. This is the best one for scares, atmosphere and detail. A+ Backwoods: This is the longest haunt and the second scariest. The haunt is not as detailed, mainly because most of it is outdoors. There are a few intentional laughs, which all hit really well, that compliment the very good surprise scares and grizzly set pieces. I was on edge at almost every part of it, thanks to hit and run tactics of some of the actors in the woods. It is a solid final haunt at Indy Scream Park.

I will NEVER go back. $40.00 to dang near be sexually assaulted is not exactly what I consider a good time. You are aware that the "actors" inside can touch you within one of the haunted houses IF you are wearing a glowing necklace which I was. Normal "touching" would be grabbing a hand or arm to pull you away from the group to interact with them..... Did those normal things happen... yes, which is okay BUT then fast forward to being pulled away from my group (Im the only female) and get pinned in a jail cell with the "actor" pinning me to the wall his chest against mine. Sad thing is the fact this guy basically got a feel of my chest wasnt the worst part..... Get pulled into another room/cell or whatever you want to call it while the guy once again has me pinned rubbing his cheek on mine telling me how good I smell (in a sexual tone, not a scary ghost like manner). Get out of there, another guy grabs me and puts me in a room.... yes, again pinning me this time with his hand on the back of my neck, rubbing telling me he "wants to make me scream. How can I make you scream" (again, not in a scary tone in any way shape or form). Just as I think Im getting the heck out of there, another guy grabs my arm (normal) to direct me out then turns me to look at him and flicks his tongue at me like hes licking a freaking blow pop. This was absolutely borderline sexual harassment. Being a very dependent 30 year old woman, I could not get out of there fast enough and all I wanted to do was go home and wash the nastiness off me. There were a few occasions of normal interaction; however, there were those few that that took the "touching and interacting" to an inappropriate level taking advantage of the situation. I will never go back and I guarantee I will be sure to share this experience with everyone. Apparently my boyfriend and his friend were pinned in a cell once...... Go back and read all my experiences and tell me there isnt a standard there.

Indy Scream Park. Well, I will start off by saying that its a nice place but not worth driving in from 3 hours away. I went with myself and 2 other people on a Saturday. When we first arrived at 8, we went straight for an attraction and only waited about 20 mins, everything else after that was a good 50 min. They do offer VIP passes where you can pass everyone; however, at $45 bucks on top of a $35 admission isnt worth it for any of the attractions you wait on. It was super packed. Lots of kids & teens. They move you through it so fast that you catch up to the group in front of you and same with the group behind you. Some actors didnt have it together where as others were fantastic. There was one actor in the chill out area, I want to call him crackhead Jesus because he had longer hair, a dirty hospital gown and was committed like no other. He was hilarious to watch walk around. ANYWAYS, my group and I still had fun, didnt really get scared except for jump scares a couple times. My favorite attraction was the Rage 3D. Black light, illusions, and neon clowns. It was trippy and pretty great to walk through. Overall, good atmosphere, friendly staff but wont make the 3 hour drive back again until it actually produces something scary and worth the waiting.
