Id like to preface this review by saying I never write reviews unless something is either exceptionally good or completely awful. That being said, The Escape in Des Moines is the former. I actually had "escaped" the other rooms in Des Moines before this place opened. They were okay, but what they lacked, The Escape made up for. First, The Escapes rooms are incredibly well written. You go into each one knowing your motivation and what your goal is. The rest is revealed through a series of complex riddles and puzzles, each testing your wit and problem-solving skills. Secondly, the technology is far superior to any escape room Ive done elsewhere. I wont give anything away about the rooms, but each one is very inventive and full of surprises, using puzzles that often take teamwork. From a design perspective, these rooms were crafted with incredible attention to detail, making for a very immersive experience. Finally, the staff at this place is the best. I got an opportunity to meet the owner, and you can tell he is committed to making sure you and your team have a great experience. From what I was told, they are constantly adding and changing rooms, so this place is worth revisiting. Whether it is just your family or your sales team, you really ought to give this place a try. Its a ton of fun.

I have always wanted to do one of these and I finally had the chance to visit The Escape yesterday. I went with my dad, brother-in-law and sister and we did the "Psych Ward" room. All I can say is that we had a great time doing this! What a great team-building exercise! The Psych Ward was challenging and we almost didnt get out in time, but we were lucky enough to get out with three minutes to spare, thanks in part to our very friendly guide. He did a great job of explaining how it worked, getting us started, giving us clues if we got stuck and just making the experience a great one! I would definitely recommend doing this and am going to be back to try another room sometime in the near future! Thanks for the fun day!

Great experience! The staff was super friendly and helpful. We did the room called the informant and it was complex but fun. The staff took the time to design each room in such a way where you spend your time solving the clues rather than spending your time trying to figure out how to operate the locks and the other equipment. We were able to solve the room with about 5 minutes left on the clock. Weve also tried an escape room at a competing business downtown, but The Escape was far better in comparison! 5 stars highly recommended!

Having experienced a handful of escape rooms, The Escape by far exceeds them all. The staff were exceptional. The design of the rooms themselves and the puzzles necessary to escape are entertaining and get your blood pumping with excitement as you feel a part of the story. I will be returning to experience all the rooms they have to offer.

We just completed the Psych room and it was fantastic. I have been a fan of the Escape Chambers so my expectations were a little high. This place has lived up to those expectations. The room was fun and challenging. Everybody had to participate in order for us to solve the clues and escape. I highly recommend this place.

4.5/5 -- The Escape had great employees and a wonderful escape room. It had lots of clues and hidden gems in the room to increase curiosity and debate in the room. I went in a group of 5 and we completed the room, and had a blast. The wait was about 10 minutes from our scheduled time but then it was totally worth it.

Awesome experience! The staff and owner were helpful and very accommodating.We did two rooms, The Informant and Phantom, absolutely LOVED both. Awesome, amazing place. Cant say enough good things!!! Recommend to everyone looking for a challenge, great time or a a great bonding experience!
