First off I want to start by saying that the website for the campground is incorrect. It shows a map of a Lake, however it is a pond. Secondly the staff is rude and hard to get a hold of at any part of day or night. We had to buy fire wood their because of the wood ban. We spent almost all morning trying to get a hold of someone. Thirdly the campsites suck. They are all cramped next to each other in an open area next to the road. They had a few select sites that were more set back and secluded but we were placed right out in the open and we were the only campers(tent). Fourth the fire pits are dinky, they are either sewer structures or truck rims on top of rocks. Neither one allows an adequate fire. Fifth they had a wedding party all weekend that was noisy back and forth for three days. The party throughout most of the afternoon and evening would drive several times back and fourth to the pond to fish or swim. Very annoying especially since the campgrounds are not very big or spread out. They then would drink and play music loud all night. Sixth on the website they said there were showers and restrooms. This is inaccurate, they have two showers placed inside the banquet hall where the wedding was at. Inside the bathroom door is engraved Banquet Hall Guests only. We had a porajohn directly accross the road that was filthy and looked like it was knocked over several times(had never been cleaned out and bugs EVERYWHERE) Seventh the trails were very shoddy. The best ones are all the way across the northeast part of the pond where its most secluded. Eighth someone had at one point had a party right up the hill from our "campsite" and had clothes trash and empty alcohol bottles everywhere and none of the workers had at anypoint made an attempt to clean up or dispose (even though when you sign and pay they warn you about a $20 clean up fee). Ninth they have "cabins". They are just shacks made out of reused materials.Very shabby. Tenth people staying there and living there(workers) left their dogs off leashes. Several times we had to fight of dogs from out own dog. The rule stated online and there is all pets on leashes. It appeared no one had common courtesy or a brain (children were allowed to wonder in front of vehicles and roads without adult supervision.(as said not secluded everything is right of a main gravel road) In conclusion this place was trashy, half assed about everything and to put the least not welcoming in several ways from natural beauty to people.Best if for a huge frat party or employee retreat but not for true outdoors people. All I can say is we wont be back.

I used to live in Brown County for about 8 years. I absolutely love the Valley branch retreat. Nashville is one of the closest places to go to enjoy the outdoors and shopping. But I do caution you. As a former local of Brown County, I can tell you that during the spring and fall, Nashville draws quite the amount of tourism. Many of these individuals come from the city and as bad as I hate to say it, SOME city folks dont get the gist of what it means to keep the grounds clean. So yes, many people will come to the valley branch in torrents of people, playing music, being loud, leaving trash, etc. However, this is not how it is all of the time and the staff at the retreat do an excellent job in having to juggle keeping the cabins clean, roads clean, trails clean, pond/lake clean, cutting firewood, checking in campers, and this doesnt include taking the groups to the miles of zip lines they offer throughout the park and the paintball field they maintain. The staff stay very busy and I commend them for all the hard work they do in trying to keep the place up and going despite the mess that many people leave behind. Valley branch offers many campgrounds to put a tent, and from experience we requested different camping sites so we could have a wooded atmosphere or out in the open, or cabin. They gladly obliged. There are many hiking and biking trails, paintball, fishing, canoeing. All in all, valley branch is an excellent place to go. Just call in advance to your trip to make sure there are no large (frat) parties scheduled, just because Nashville is the place to go for things like this. Drinking and being outdoors goes together. The staff is wonderful and I love everything they have to offer. Keep up the good work you guys.

WILD and PURE FUN! Firstly, every time I have been here there are NOT many cars that pass the area. Also, i would like to say that the staff is VERY polite even if people are RUDE to them, I have watched it with MY OWN EYES MANY TIMES! The staff is usually found in one of 3 places; CLEANING THE CABINS, out with another group to help them enjoy their stay, or in the office. Personally, i believe the bad reviews come from people that are looking for a hotel service with a maid. This place is AMAZING and lets people ENJOY the outdoors. The people here are like my second family. I enjoy their humor and their ability to make outside fun. I suggest this place to anyone that is looking for something fun to do. I return here every time I am in Indiana because it is truly the definition of FUN. The amount of things they have to offer to make your adventure fun, no matter who the person is, is unbelievable. If I had two wishes I would wish there was a place like this where I live, and that every person looking for a fun time would go here.

I liked none of this. My sister had her wedding this past weekend there and it was total crap. First my sister wanted her wedding on June 6 and they told her they didnt wanna double book. Yet they double booked it with a beer party. Total bull crap. Secondly during her reception 2 random people came in the bathroom and started having sex, then the girl of the 2 tried to go after my sister. As my sister was crying at this point because of just this. Its suppose to be her special day. Third, Gary one of the owners come in during her reception and started screaming *Get the F*** out, party is over" and then proceed to turn off all the lights. Let me remind you we rented this venue for 2 days, so the next morning at noon. Is when we would no longer be renting the venue. The next morning he awoke my sister and tried kissing her ass. Excuse my language. But this is total bullshit. I wouldnt advise any one to go to this place for a wedding.

We chose this place because we were told it was a quiet and secluded campground. The first night there was a 200 person frat party at the main building that kept us up til 4:30am. We couldnt even get out to go get charcoal (that we needed due to the burn ban that we were not told about being likely BEFORE our groups 6 hour drive) thanks to the TONS of cars coming in for the frat party. We wanted to stop the line long enough to let us out and the manager woman yelled at our friend to get back in our car and we can just get a refund if we dont like it... nice considering we were all set up already. The next night we had a 50-60 person frat party 2 sites down from us. This is NOT the location for you if you want quiet or seclusion. Also, the fire pits in the primitive spots were these large concrete sewer type things that kept ALL the heat in... not good on a cold evening.
