We were at the Murat Center on July 5th 2015 to see John Fogerty. The concert itself was fantastic. The Murat Center was the biggest disappointment weve ever been to. First of all it took a lot of determination on my part to even get tickets. We are both handicapped and since my husband has only got 1/4 of a lung I needed to be sure of the accommodations. Live Nation had nothing on that and attempting to get through to a live person at the venue was insane. Eventually, after several days & numerous messages left, I managed to get a call back. I was assured their handicapped seating was above and beyond what we would need. This was no more then an out and out bold lie. First there are no restrooms on the main floor. You either walked or took a make shift elevator to get to them. We were told by a person that attempted to use it with his wheelchair bound wife that they could not get in it properly. We did not try. Our seats were anything BUT handicapped. We sat in a regular row with the end seat missing. I have extreme damage to one leg and needed to protect it. I sat in the last regular seat and my husband sat in a metal chair they put at the end of the row with his oxygen tank. We had to sit and stand numerous times not only to try to get a glimpse of the show but to let others in and out of the row. One lady was upset with me because she tripped over my cane which I had to use to balance myself. My husbands oxygen tank was knocked over 3 times. At the end of the show we had no choice but to try to leave with the rest of the crowd. We attempted to stay seated but we were being hurt setting there. Once we tried to walk with the crowd it was worse. I was beyond scared that he would be able to breathe in that mass of people & I would get out of there without breaking my leg back open. Once we did get out the doors the staff was lined wanting to know how everyone liked the show. Or so they pretended. I immediately began voicing my opinion and asking for help to get a seat for my husband. Not ONE person helped him. Another concert goer saw a chair and pointed it out to him. The staff totally turned their backs to me and greeted others instead. There was one woman in the staff line that spoke harshly and instead of any concern for our health argued with me. She said it was an old building and what did we expect. I told her we have been doing concerts for over 40 years and NEVER WENT TO A PLACE SO HORRIBLE. Once we became handicapped just a few years ago we still do our best to enjoy concert going as much as possible. We have never had to put up with such of an uncaring venue as this place. SAVE YOURSELF A LOT OF PROBLEMS.... GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. YOUVE BEEN WARNED.

We were in the Egyptian Room to see the Last Comic Standing Tour. Show was great (for the most part), but this is the worst venue I have EVER been to. The sound was OK but the seating was horrible. The seating consists of a whole bunch of small chairs (more narrow even than a folding chair) in rows. They are zip tied together so there is no space between them and so you cannot move them. They are so narrow that any average size person, will be touching the person next to them. Any even slightly heavy person, or woman with wider hips, will be taking up more than their seat. Both fortunately and unfortunately for me, I was on the end. Up side was I didnt have to deal with being totally confined / surrounded. Down side is I was only sitting on half a chair. My left leg was having to support my whole left side through the show. Felt like I was half sitting half crouching through the whole thing. Also, throughout the show, the row in front of us somehow was moving backward towards us, so the point the 3 inches of space between their knees and chairs that they did have was gone and they had chairs digging into their knees (one guy near me finally got fed up and pushed the chair in front of him forward, totally freaking that person out). So be aware, if you are going to see a show where you will be sitting the whole time, either find a different venue, or be prepared to extremely uncomfortable. This is a venue where they found the cheapest possible way to get as many chairs into a room as possible.

Ive been to many many venues all across the US and this venue is by far the worst venue Ive ever been to. Even a dilapidated brick building in the middle of nowhere was a better venue than this place. First off, the security are all confused about what their job entails. The lines of people outside were confused about where to go and security was no help at all. They are rude and impatient. They even opened the doors fifteen minutes late. Inside, they are no better. Girls were fainting and dropping like flies and security just stood there as if it were an everyday thing. They were more preoccupied with a guy recording on his phone than girls passed out on the floor. Next, people push and shove which is normal at a concert, but when the only source of ventilation is one vent at the very back of the room, it can get quite hot and unpleasant. So what did security do about the constant shoving? Absolutely nothing. They didnt move a muscle. At the very least they could have made sure people were all right but no they couldnt be bothered. Lastly, dont sell a priority pass if there are no rules or guidelines about where to line up because then, people just show up an hour before the show and create their own line and then people who have been waiting all day, get screwed out of their front row spot. There are some artists that I would like to see, but because its at this venue, I refuse to go and be miserable. Get it together National Centre!

I rarely leave a negative review for any venue, store, or restaurant, always giving the employees the benefit of the doubt. As Ive worked in custome service and it can be rough. However, I attended a show here tonight and I am so appalled by the experience I had that I HAD to post immediately. From the second I arrived things were bad. I pre-paid $10 for parking, we get there and its $5... Then went inside to very politely ask when and where were to line up- because no where on the tickets or outside the venue does it give an instruction- and the girls working security were extremely rude, stating that I needed to walk back outside and wait, I was not allowed inside until "doors". I bought priority entry and asked when we would be let in and she tells me we will go in when "doors open". We PAID EXTRA to be let in early and went in literally no more than 30 seconds before everyone else. The "Deluxe Room" had HORRIBLE acoustics. And on the way out the same awful security girl was still at the doors. I barely stepped a foot over the threshold of the doors and turned around because I had to use the restroom before leaving and she says to me "youre not allowed back inside after youve exited"... I doubt I will ever go back. For ANYTHING. Thanks for the great night Old National Center.
