I recently watched Star Wars: The Force Awakens. I just had to see the 70MM rare version. I will first start off by saying how nice it was that when you bought your ticket you also picked your own seat(s) out. Made it so much easier before the movie as no one was fighting over the seats. This, I believe, is the largest screen in Indiana. Normally this theater plays more educational movies as it is at the state museum. But I do believe that the bigger movies that play here (clearly as they played Star Wars). The concessions area is small. There is one window with one register. So for this movie it was not uncommon for people to stand in line for 15+ minutes. Now, because this is not the normal movie theater the prices are lower than what you might find at AMC or even the United Artist down the street. The seats are very outdated. Theyre narrow and uncomfortable. The arm rests are thin and well dont even think about trying to share with your neighbor. Also, the way the cup holders are is there are 1 per 2 seats...so again, dont think about sharing. The theater its self is clean and maintained well. Just needs some of the fancy updates that other theaters in the area have been seeing. Id see another movie here again...if it was cool enough. :)

First off I want to extend a giant thank you to Patrick Smith from this theater. I made an error on seat selection originally and he was able to get that handled without any hassle. Then on the night of the show (Rogue One) inclement weather caused half of my group to be unable to make it so he promptly switched those seats to another night. What I didnt know is that I had communicated my issue as if I needed all tickets changed. Somehow I ended up in line at the perfect time and ended up in his line at the concession stand. He recognized the name on my ID and was able to recall our interaction from earlier in the day. Had he not I wouldnt have known until i was at the door to walk into the theater. Pat not only saved me a ton of time he spared me the embarrassment that would have resulted from that. All I can say is that if the rest of the staff is even halfway as helpful as he was for me then this should be your go to movie theater from now on, because they definitely proved they care about the customers experience! P.S. the show was great Ill definitely be back

Dun Dunna DUNNNNN. Nothing like the movie experience taken to the max, and not just like any regular old IMAX. This IMAX is 7 stories tall and brings a new meaning to "See a movie, or be part of one." The State Museum Theater typically shows the education films, but through out the last few years they have been showing more current releases. The experience does not ring in the nostalgia of a typical theater- while you can get your popcorn fix at the concessions, it has limited options. The absolute best thing about this theater is on the major release nights you can select your seat when you buy your ticket ahead of time so you dont have to rush to the theater two hours before the show to get a center seat. The watching the movie part is great- I just prefer the traditional movie theater feel and I have no qualms with standard screen sizes.

Probably the biggest and best IMAX theater in the state. Its located inside the Indiana State Museum. It doesnt show all the popular movies but when there is a showing, I attend it. Ive seen Polar Express 3D, Interstellar, Star Wars Attack of the Clones, Star Wars Revenge of the Sith, and also Star Wars The Force Awakens there and love it. The sound system is unbelievable and most recently they allow you to buy your tickets online AND choose your seat. Always pick middle middle. If thats taken, pick middle top. Also, save your ticket stub because it validates your parking. Enjoy the show :)

Best Imax in the state of Indiana by far. Its worth the trip downtown to see your favorite big name movie here on the significantly bigger IMAX screen. But dont just come for the big movies, the 3D movies are awesome too. The National Parks movie makes you want to travel and the NASA movies are seriously the closest to being in outer space most of us will ever get. See the Polar Express 3D over Christmas! One of the only places in the world still showing it in IMAX 3D (which it was originally made for). Its an awesome experience. Our family tries to go every year

Saw "Dunkirk" here on July 22, 2017. The screen and the sound are amazing. However, a warning. If you are over 6 tall, be prepared to be uncomfortable the entire time. There is very little leg room. By the end of the movie, I just wanted it to be over with because my right knee was in a lot of pain. They cram too many people into the theatre. From a visual and audio experience, it was one of the best experiences I have ever had at a movie theatre. From a comfort perspective, it was easily the worst experience I have ever had at a movie theatre.

This is a true Imax meaning the screen is 6 stories tall, and 1 of around 15 in the country. Movies shown here include mostly educational films but blockbusters such as Star Wars and Batman v Superman have started to show here. Ordering tickets online is very easy and having assigned seating is nice. Concessions are available, including craft beer. The sound was recently upgraded and is probably the best in the state at this point. My only complaint is the uncomfortable seats that make a 2 hour movie feel much longer.

The greatest movie theater Ive been to. The screen and projection systems are stunning. The new digital projector is as good as the old film one. Its the largest screen in Indiana and it definitely shows. The sound is earth-shaking yet the surround can be so subtle. To top it off the popcorn is the best Ive had at a movie theater.

It is one of the original IMAX screens. You can purchase tickets online and lock in your seating. Seats are older and less comfortable than newer theaters. And the cup holders are just hollow holes, and the water bottles they give you fall right through. Make sure they give you the cap to you water bottle, as you will need it.

We watched Star Wars: Rogue One here in 70mm and it was FABTASTIC. Sure, youre sitting cozy with the jam packed house, but the huge screen engulfs you into the movie so you wont even care. Of course this may depend on your movie but in general, the staff was friendly, helpful, and I would go again!

Awesome theater. Been here twice in my lifetime so far and yet to be disappointed. Definitely a must to watch a movie here if you havent. Reasonable prices also for the size and experience. In think it was like 9.50 for a adult at the time of this writing.

The biggest IMAX screen in the state of Indiana. If the movie is not 3D, it will still feel completely immersive. It is by far one of my favorite movie theaters around the globe. Only downside is that the sitting could possibly give you a little vertigo.
