This wildlife center has taken in rescued animals from me and friends...with great results...specifically, a baby squirrel found in the neighbors garage, 2 baby ducklings whose mother was found dead, injured birds...and when released you will receive a notice that the animal is returned to nature. Only creatures unable to fend for themselves are kept in the center. Children love it! Schools love to bring the children to the exhibits. Great place...been there forever! As far as a previous old post about the facility, I find it well managed and safe - otherwise Im sure the schools would have nothing to do with it.

I was extremely disappointed and shocked to see yellow flags in areas of their nature trail that say "pesticide application, keep off." I complained to the front desk, but she had no explanation for why this was being done. My 18 month year old son and I had just visited all the injured animals at their place. Some markers on the birds explained how certain things were harming them, such as collisions with cars, powerlines, and pesticides...especially for the endangered species. What hypocrites! I will never go back there again.

Weve been watching a Cardinal nest in a tree next to our driveway for a few weeks. The nest and 5 tiny babies fell out this morning. The directions through the Willowbrook Wildlife message center were detailed, clear and easy to follow, with respect to what to do to try to save the birds. It has been about 3 hours, fingers crossed, but 5 babies and parents are back in the tree, and appear to be recovered from this mornings mayhem. Great instructions and thanks to Willowbrook!

I have been here any of times, & today I have to say I was very disappointed with the way one of the staff talked to our group. We were there on a field trip with special ed students who were have a good time looking at the animals. Its a outside place so kids should noy have to be totally quite. The staff member rudely yelled at the us to keep to keep our students quite so the the public people could hear him. Are we not public people!!! That was totally uncalled for.

We found a baby bird with a broken wing and knowing we couldnt care for it well enough, we brought it to Willow brook Center. Everyone there was VERY nice and helpful. Plus, theyre going to send us a postcard update when the bird is released. Such a wonderful place, every county should have a wildlife rescue like this one. We are very impressed, thank you.

Super sweet staff who were very informative and caring for an orphaned fox squirrel in our landscape construction project. Call their hotline for great info about how to care for overnight and transport orphaned animals to their facility.

Wonderful place! Great for families to see native animals (owls, bald eagle, raccoons, etc.) and the walking trail is gorgeous. They also care for sick/injured/orphaned wildlife behind the scenes and rerelease them back into the wild

Always enjoyable to see the diversity of wildlife at Willowbrook. Also the proximity to the animal is very appreciated for viewing. Good work by all those involved.

They rescue injured and orphaned animals! It was a bit of a hike from Orland Park, but at least I got the good karma of saving 2 orphaned baby birds.

Bring the kids! See the animal up close in the outdoor areas. Nice easy walking for young, old, and wheelchair accessible

They usually kill most animals to cut medical cost. Dont take injured wild animals there unless its a VERY minor injury.
