Let me preface this by saying the theater itself was okay, popcorn was good, and the seats were comfortable. The theaters seemed clean too. If I was walking distance to here I would have probably had a better experience, like most of the reviewers. But Ill never be coming back here again. I dont live in the neighborhood and this was the closest place to us that was playing the Dallas Buyers Club. Due to the weather, we chose to drive and park in the attached garage. I am pretty sure that the lot doesnt know when it reaches capacity because the only way I found a spot was waiting for someone to leave. The building the theater in is a maze and took a bit to find the front desk so we could even buy our tickets. The theater itself is a multi level mess and the way to find your theater is to walk around (up stairs) looking for the theater number. Picture a tri-level house with 10 levels. Ya, like that. The icing on the cake is when leaving the garage is fully automated so paying at a pay box is mandatory. There are only 3 in the whole building. The building is a large shopping center, in addition to the theater. 1 is placed right at the exit of the theater area and the other two are hiding somewhere with cobwebs covering them. The line was 30 deep just to pay. Basically, if you plan on driving. Skip this place. Take transit or walk and bring a map to find your theater number.

Landmark is a reliable brand. This one doesnt get the special events the one in LA can draw, but they do some, and get movies no one else has, or has as early. It feels more personal and less corporate, although maybe Im just falling for their schtick, but whatever. Entry to the theater is on the fourth floor. The elevators dont tell you when theyre there, so keep an eye on all of them. Theyre efficient at selling tickets and getting you in, and friendly. They seem to do a decently brisk business, I guess theres not a ton of competition in the immediate area. The seats are comfortable and dont seem too grody, which is about all you can ask for in a movie theater I suppose. Actually, theyre a sort of pleather, which seems a lot easier to keep clean than nasty red or purple fabric. Theres a parking lot in the building and there are payment machines by the theater. Theres lots of bike parking near the entrance, just south. Theres also lots of good food within a few blocks (like Crisp and del Seoul).

Difficult, petty, condescending, rude, annoyed and smug are some of the positive attributes of the concessions at this theatre. Some 15 years Ive been attending this art house. The concessions attendants often were nice enough. Last visit their horrendous lack of civility was markedly beyond self righteous heights. Oddly the clean up crew (all women) dont share the manners of a barnyard pig as the concessions (all men) do. At first this opinion was solely directed to the employees. The manager seemed pleasant and amenable. However given the proximity of the manager and hearing range the manager shares direct and indirect blame. After the movie experience was ruined the visit to the bathroom after the show was the icing on the cake. A strong strong smell of urine and standing water was humorous given the previous entertainment. The chairs are comfortable.

This is a reeeealy nice theater that shows a lot of independent movies! I saw the "Wedding Plan" and it was shown in a small theater, which I prefer - not sure if all of the theaters are that size. The leather seats are wide and very comfortable (with cup holders on each arm), but a little noisy when you move around. The theater appeared to be clean and the bathrooms were clean enough. For some reason, the popcorn was just "ok" (had better at AMC and Roosevelt Collection theaters), but they have several flavored popcorn seasonings. It was easy to notice that the staff was super nice and friendly and even cracked jokes about turning cell phones off before the movie started. Overall, it was a great experience and I definitely will be back!

This is a weird theater. Actually, the theater itself is pretty standard, I guess, but its in a weird building. Its in a tiny, half-abandoned, mall-type shopping center with a spiral ramp running around the entire height and weird, transparent elevators. As of the time this review is being written, the bottom floor, which isnt even accessible, is incomplete: its just a bunch of crushed concrete. None of this has any bearing on the actual movie-watching experience, but if youre like me, youll want to be prepared for that. The theater itself is okay. Im not a fan of reserved-seating theaters, but audio/visual quality is solid and I appreciate that they show smaller films that either dont get into larger theaters or have very short runs.

Theres a lot to like about this theater, but the seats are murder on your back and the bathrooms/water fountains are pretty dingy. That always knocks down the overall enjoyment a bit. But I like the theater, above the shopping center atrium with escalators styled like Eschers stairs. Ticket prices are better than AMC ($10 adults, $8 for students M-F), and the film selection is excellent. They also host many advance screenings of films and TV show pilots here, so its worth it to be on their film club email list. The snacks are decent, but dont leave the concession area without adding some flavor to your popcorn. They have a full bar of Kernel Seasons popcorn seasonings--thats a definite highlight.

This is the best theatre in the city for Indie movies. The theatres are smaller and the seats are generally uncomfortable, but, you can find smaller movies here that you cant find anywhere else. The decor is from the 90s, but the seats really need to be upgraded. It is stadium style seating so you usually can see from any seat in the house. Food is expensive as all movie theatres, but there are some food options on the same block that can be purchased before or after the movie. The area is great to just walk around and shop in some of the boutique stores. Parking is very hard to find, so park in their lot which is discounted to $5.00 with a movie receipt. #CityExpert @GoogleLocalCHI

Recently went there to see the movie Wind River. Because of the way the screen was laid out I had to sit towards the middle in order to get a good view of the movie. Other than that, the movie was easy to view and the sound was crystal clear. The seat was relatively comfortable and I enjoyed an unobstructed view. Although I didnt buy any popcorn this time around, in the past I like to buy theirs because its a higher-quality popcorn than what you usually get at most theaters, its also fresh and best of all they give you a lot of it!

The little indie theater that could. Located in a nearly deserted mall, the Landmark Century Centre Cinema still shows all the indie films you want to see. Concessions are a bit more upscale than your typical movie theater, with their vegan cookies and fancy chocolates, but they still have good old fashioned popcorn and soda. The actual theaters havent been updated in a while, but they are stadium seating, which is good. The best part is the late 90s decorating theme, or what Id lovely refer to as "Space Jam-esque".
