It was a good small museum (2 levels, 5 galleries) to spend an afternoon with my family. If you read/listen to all the info next to the artifacts, this museum can keep you entertained for around 3-4 hours. The galleries cover South America, Rome, Asia, Egypt/Middle East and Africa. When we visited today, they seemed to be expanding the the second level with some work in progress. All were good except the Africa one which was too small. Well worth for the small entry fees of 8 bucks. Groupon deal made it even cheaper. Parking was more expensive than entry fees with $9 for 4 hours!

The Carlos Museum is one of Atlantas best kept secrets. Tucked away on the beautiful Emory University campus, the Carlos Museum frequently hosts some of the worlds most coveted exhibits. There is ample guest parking available just across from the museums main entrance. The adult admission fee is a mere $8 and audio guide rentals are only $2. The permanent collections are an astonishing sight. Do yourself a favor and stop by. I guarantee that you will be amazed at what is hidden away on Emorys campus.

This is a hidden treasure on the Emory University campus. A delightful collection of Egyptian artifacts, including real mummies. The section of The Americas is also grand. Just think how many smart, dedicated, determined individuals it took to discover, protect, transport, negotiate for, and house these thousands of ancient artifacts and relics so you and I can leisurely walk through, oohing and ahing! Amazing!

Great place to visit. Not much parking unless you want to pay. I suggest arriving right before closing time and just parking in the one hour free parking on a side street and just walking the short distance their. If you move quick, you can see everything in the hour before your free parking expires. FYI, Most public libraries give a free pass to the museum for up to 6 people at no charge.

Great field trip. It reviewed Ancient Egyptian history from last year and prepared us for the Roman and Greek cultures for this coming school year. Did Groupon so the price was great. Gave us childrens flip cards on a metal ring of certain pcs in the museum with history information on the back. We will be using them during the school year. Thanks Michael Carlos Museum!

My son (14 years old) loves this place so much, we had to get a family membership. Best in Atlanta for international history. Terrific collection of south and central native American artifacts, which my son particularly enjoys. Also a wonderful display of high quality Greek, Egyptian, and Asian items. We look forward to the return of the African exhibit.

A cool little museum! Just when you think the exhibit hall ends there is another hallway of interesting artifacts (yet still a small museum)! A couple of their exhibits are currently under construction so we were slightly limited in our self-guided tour. I wish there was closer (and free) parking and more staff-guided tours. PS: The mummies are real!

What a gem! An amazing Muesum on a beautiful campus! I was blown away with the amount of ancient artifacts that are in this same Muesum. The ancient Greek sculpture to the Egyptian mummies and the African headdresses, its an awesome way to spend an afternoon. I found the staff helpful and extremely friendly. Cant wait to go again...!!!

Fantastic array of historical art across multiple eras in human history. Something for everyone: kids, teens, adults, students, lost travelers, museum hunters, art historians, and the like. My wife and I took our two teenagers here and they were intrigued for hours. This is a do not pass without experiencing type of journey.

I enjoyed our visit. A lot of neat things.. not really good to take 5 year olds.. Didnt let me read most of the info. But it was extremely informative...is not a big museum which is good... we did the exhibitions fairly quickly . after visiting the museum we went to have ice cream... it was a great day.

Ive been in Atlanta all my life and was disappointed to know this place was here and I never knew about it. Its really affordable and you can even check out a family pass (up to six people) at the library. I highly recommend this beautiful museum to any and everyone. Check out my pictures.

Its been years since Ive been to a museum and I had a great experience. Great collection of Greek, native american and Egyptian artifacts. I was so happy to see also the Rosetta stone (though a copy of course.) The gift shop is amazing and i even bought a book on the famous Rosetta stone.

Amazing small but quality museum! Well curated diverse collections and amazing architecture of the museum building itself. The only downside is lack of dedicated parking and having to park in Emory University megagarage.

Very reasonable admission and an incredible antiquities collection. I dont know why I waited so long to visit. If you go in the weekend you can park nearby on campus for free. Or at least I did and was not ticketed.
