Wonderful "beach town" with no beach in sight. We really want to like it here with a laid back atmosphere and incredible vineyard selections. Great food, awesome hikes on trails and waterfalls. Unfortunately its marred by horrible local drivers. Half the roads dont even have posted speed limits. But many of the locals, from law enforcement to local residents, the mailman, even the owners of the cabins we rented from, tailgated without any thought towards visitors simply trying to find their way. Please improve the driving experience - wed love to come back

Old court house in Dahlonega is now the gold museum. Great place to visit to learn about the amazing story of the Georgia gold rush. There is a very interesting video and historical display in the museum as well as a gift shop. While we visited, a group of men were playing the bagpipes across from the museum. Wonderful to listen to them.

Dahlonega is one of my absolute favorite places to go! The history is amazing, and the Gold Museum allows you to see all types of gold, and how it was mined. Celebrating the first gold rush, anyone interested in the subjects mentioned above should be just as delighted as I am whenever I have the pleasure of getting to go there myself!

Interesting little gem in a small friendly town. Everyone was extremely helpful and Bob (one of the volunteers at the museum) was really informative. You can learn about the mining history in the area and the history of the old courthouse the museum is in. Plenty of parking in and around the town.

This place is a must see for any soon-to-be prospector. The video was really informative. It left us wanting to know more, but also well educated. Amazing gold coin displays. I wish we wouldve stayed longer. Id recommend 2 hours for adults or teenage children.

Interesting material, good for what it is. Seemed a bit pricey considering the sparseness of what you can actually see. The video was well done though.

Great little museum that covers the gold rush in the area, local history, and actually has gold in the bricks of the historic court house.

Pricey for very little exhibit. The volunteer was trying to be too helpful and distracted me from reading and looking.
