Hello, I am writing this to make you aware of my experience at Orpheum last night (03/23/13). I went there with my husband and our best guy friend for sink or swim. $12 is a great deal so we figured it would definitely be worth it. We spread the word and ended up meeting some other friends there. The first thing I realize is that the $12 doesnt cover premium drinks. Completely understandable for liquors, but the only beer it includes is PBR? I decide to stick with well vodka and cranberry. The second thing I notice is the bartender (female, dark hair, attempting to have a pin up look to her) is waiving dollar bills in the air asking for tips. I worked in the restaurant industry. I frequent bars often. I think we all know she is working for tips. Her waiving bills in the air was unnecessary. She had absolutely no spedd behind the bar either. Now let me add that I am a small girl, it definitely doesnt take more than a couple drinks for me to have a buzz. I drank 7 vodka and cranberry drinks and did not have a slight tipsyness. Either youre bartender is adding water to the liquor bottles or shes just not putting any liquor in the drinks. I decided Im going to Coyote Ugly with my girlfriend who had met us out. My husband and our friend decides to stay and drink since its already paid for. Our friend had 15 drinks and did not have a buzz. 15. Thats rediculous. When ordering his next drink the bartender, the same one mentioned above, says shes not going to serve him because he hasnt tipped. He tells her its all you can drink and orders another drink. She refuses. So him and my husband leave. They had actually already tipped her $2.00 and when leaving they were going to just put a $20 on the bar. Do you tip your waitress everytime she brings you a drink? Do you tip your buffet server everytime she brings you a plate? No. You tip at the end. This bartender literally refused them what had already been paid for. I am irate. I will never be a vistor at Orpheum again, and I will tell everyone I know. Thank You for the lesson learned.

Im not understanding all the bad reviews about this place when my friends & I have been going for the past few years. Never have I been treated unfairly by anyone there especially by any of the bartenders. If anything the service I get from there, especially by the one who was mentioned previously, is top notch! Her side is the busiest out of all sides & she still manages to get everyones orders in a timely manner. For the comment about the staff filming girls under their skirts...how is that possible? Especially when theyre busy walking around on the dance floor, or upstairs or even on the stage?? Are you suggesting theyre on their hands & knees? Kinda hard when the place is always super busy. In my opinion, the negative comments are coming from people who mustve acted up at the place & were asked to leave & put up a fight. & in that case I appreciate the staff in taking charge & escorting the nuisance out. Thats what I love about the place...people who know how to act in the right way & when you dont....theres the door! Also, the drug comment is outrageous.....a lot of people that work there are anti-drug. Get your facts straight! Better yet take your juvenile behavior somewhere else. Thanks!!!

Every place you go has its ups and downs. But this place is just low class and trashy. I went this past Saturday 7/25/15 for the sink or swim. The bartender was rude (dark hair, I think I heard someone call her Laura). She was also so far beyond drunk it was sickening. I cant believe an establishment would allow an employee to get that drunk and still be behind the bar. She was rude to me, took her far to long to even take my order. When she finally did she could hardly keep her eyes open. She was hanging onto the bar for balance. I watched her repeatedly spill, knock over drinks she was attempting to make. She also didnt even put any liquor in the drink, she was pouring it onto the bar. So I went to the other bartender. She was nicer but still rude. Clearly liked male customers better. Not as drunk as the other girl but you could still tell she had a few too many shots. The bartenders here should clean up or management should clean house.

What an awful experience. The staff was overly agressive and were video taping girls as they were dancing, without their knowledge. Specifically under their skirts. Following this event the bouncers kicked two different kids out into the street and proceded to punch and choke them after they were already outside. If you want your life threatened then by all means take a trip down to the Orpheum. Honestly if the service and bad service was the only reason to write a negative review I wouldnt have taken the time. The real reason you dont want to go here is because the under the table paid staff is super agressive and just want any chance they can to beat up the kids that go there. If you value your safety please dont go to this bar.

The Orpheum could be the best place for live music if the owners took care of it. The floors and walls are pretty sticky, the bathroom was gross, the bartenders are snobs and the staff members who maintained the door were not doing their job correctly. Went to a concert there the other night and the large stage left speaker overhead was blown and the crackling static was very disrupting. Yes, I understand that its s high traffic venue with lots of people that go through there but hire a cleaning service, or have a staff member swifter wetjet the floor, take a rag and at least wipe down the walls or something. I most likely wont be returning.

The Orpheum is a dive bar. The floors are generally sticky, restrooms have no doors, furnishings are practically non existent and decor is minimal. So why do I give the place 5 stars? Because it is also a great place to catch live music. The stage is small but positioned well and elevated enough we can always find a fairly good vantage place. The drinks are fairly reasonable, the sound system is pretty good, and the staff are laid back. Many of our favorite bands stop here, so we make the two hour drive several times a year. As long as you set your expectations correctly, The Orpheum is a great place to catch a concert.

The only reason I was going to this place was to see Union Sky play. Nice to know that the security staff was very unprofessional and rude. At 540pm when nobody is even there they have to be on a power trip and not helpful for set up to probably the nicest band ever. I wont be attempting to go back ever and will be passing info along to other bands considering on playing there. Alcohol or any other issue was not even present in this situation so its appalling that they would treat talent this way. AVOID this place and the headache!!!

Ive been going to this club for years (5 to be exact) and its always been my favorite. On average Id say I go once a month and Ive NEVER seen anybody assaulted or beaten up by the bouncer, unless the person was seriously tweaking out on drugs, and even then it took alot of people to convince the workers to remove them. Other than the over-reacting reviews, this has always been my go to club in Ybor on a Saturday night. Always a great music line up, always places to sit and rest up or just chill and next to always a different crowd.
