My husband and I recently had our wedding here. The venue is absolutely beautiful. We had read other reviews before deciding to go with this place and many of them stated that Mary Stover (the owner) was very abrasive and bossy. We had met with her already and didnt get that impression from her, so we went a head and booked our wedding. Mary was great and very helpful right up until our actual wedding day. I explained to her numerous times exactly how I wanted things to be set up and how I wanted the order of events to flow. She wrote down everything I said and gave her advise, but made it seem like she would make things happen just as I wanted them to. We even met with her the day before our wedding to finalize our plans and it all seemed great. The day of our wedding, however, her true colors showed! She was horrible!! Almost EVERYTHING I told her I wanted, she disregarded and did things her way! She was incredibly abrasive! For example, I told Mary I wanted the bridal party to enter the reception, then go sit down. She suggested having everyone gather around the dance floor instead. I told her thats not what I wanted. As we were all lining up to enter the reception, she was barking orders to the bridal party about how they needed to walk in and stand around the dance floor. My husband got so upset (we had had enough of her by this time), he yelled her name and told her that she knew that not what we had discussed. He then told everyone what they were to do. I gave the dj a printed schedule of how everything was to flow, with times and everything. Mary made sure to inform him how she wanted things to flow and when we noticed that the dj wasnt sticking to our schedule, I had to go to him in the middle of my reception and tell him to ignore anything Mary said to him and that I wanted him to stick to what I told him! Shes not pleasant to work with at all! She was literally pushing everyone out the door an HOUR before we had to leave because she wanted to get ready for the next wedding! She also slammed us at the end of the wedding with an outrageous bill for rented linens, which was never clearly stated to us. If you choose to battle with Mary, buy your own table cloths...its SOOOO much cheaper!! I loved the venue itself, but Mary caused A LOT of unnecessary stress for everyone involved!
While our wedding hasnt happened yet, my Fiancé and I have enjoyed working with Mr. and Mrs. Stover! They are extremely helpful for the budget friendly bride. Anytime we have had questions, they respond in a timely manner. They do not require you to use any vendors so you can seek out someone that is more in your budget, unlike most other venues in the area. The property is very well maintained and beautiful. I would recommend this place 10 times over to any bride that wants a beautiful venue for a great price!
Any position involving making a bride smile is very stressful. Heated tempers fly at the drop of a dime. Thankful I had the opportunity to work with Laura again today. Beautiful venue and great staff. Enjoyed the visit! :)

My husband and i had our wedding here last month. It was nice and they did a good job. We had our reception a few miles away at Royal Lakes. I wish we had both at Royal Lakes, would have saved some money and head aches.
My husband and i were one of the first couples to get married here it was beautiful. It was a dream wedding of a lifetime. 06-15-2002 xoxo
This is historic and perfect setup for a wedding venue! Gorgeous inside and out. Love the entire event complex!
Went to a wedding here. Renovations going on and ferns were dying.
Super nice staff and a good facility
