Played this course on Friday 4/8/2016. I want to make two parts to this review, staff and golf. So I will be reviewing the staff first, then the golf second. Staff: I booked my tee time online originally, and had to call to change the tee time because my group of 2 total decided we were going to try to do 36 in one day. This was easily taken care of by the phone call, but my afternoon round was never changed in their computer system and I almost had to pay full price for the second round of the day at the other course. We arrived about a half hour ahead of time for our first round of the day and after we had checked in no one assisted us in where to go and the guy in the pro shop just pointed us outside. After a bit of confusion (and I mean actual confusion because its not well marked as a first time visitor) we figured out where to go, and spotted a putting green that was no where near our tee box. We stopped and putted for a minute and then proceeded to the first tee box, but ended up pulling up to the tee 1 minute after our tee time. The starter was RUDE and told us "you almost missed your chance to play today". I understand its his job to keep the course on time, but no sir I did not miss my chance to play today I already paid the course you were going to get me out no matter what. What I did miss my chance to do during my first round was enjoy the first 3 holes because of how flustered and befuddled I was that a starter could be that rude. TL;DR: World woods needs to staff more polite and helpful people and have some communication between your pro shop and your players. Golf: Both courses (Pine Barrens first and Rolling Oaks second) were in great condition. There were minor spots where the grass was not growing but thats a typical Florida course (muddy spot with patchy grass). The layout of the courses was just spectacular. Ive never seen so many fantasy style holes on one course. The courses were challenging, but you could still score on them (im a 9 handicap). I preferred the Rolling Oaks course, but thats just because it was more open off of the tee. TL;DR: The courses were excellent.

My name is Troy and I have been living in Florida for about 25 years now. I have played courses all over the US, Mexico and Canada. So I am familiar with a lot of courses and their services, etc. A few friends and myself decided to go to World Woods last month (January 2017) because all of our birthdays are just a couple of weeks apart and we have been making it an annual event to visit a nice course. We have all played World Woods several times. Long story short, we played the back tees. We are big hitters and like to play the entire course. At the first tee there was a group to go behind us and they were playing the white tees. We offered to let them go ahead and the starter/ranger would not allow it. Needless to say, they began to complain to the ranger within an hour or so of teeing off. The ranger confronted us several times during our round and make the entire experience very frustrating. We confronted the Pro, Scott Wyckoff, at the end of our round and told the story. He was not as understanding as you would expect and told us that maybe we shouldnt play the back tees. That maybe we were not good enough. He did send us a complimentary round so we decided to go back. We made a tee time and headed back. A 2 HOUR DRIVE UP THERE! Upon arrival, we were charged $50.00 each as the pro shop would not honor the complimentary round. The gentleman checking us in was very uncooperative, the clubhouse lady we tried to order snacks and drinks from we all very rude or standoffish. Its a nice course but when coming that far to play, paying above average prices, you are looking for the full experience. After this, the four of us have decided never to return and plan on spreading the word about our 2 experiences. Very disappointing and not worth going back. There are a lot of nice courses in Florida and they treat you they should. If customer service, attitude and being appreciated for your patronage is not important to you, then World Woods is for you. If it is, then buyer beware.

If I could give World Woods two separate ratings they would be 5-Stars for the Golf Courses and the golf experience, and 1-star for the staff and the customer service. I have been to World Woods on three occasions during my visits to my mother-in-law who lives in Palm Harbor - so it is a bit of a drive to Brooksville. I keep thinking that I will give the staff another shot just because the golf courses are worth putting up with some inconveniences in order to play - the courses are both ABSOLUTELY worth every penny. I just would not expect the attitude and level of service to be so poor at such a world-class golf facility. I have been blessed to play some of the finest courses in the US, UK, Canada and Mexico, and these guys and gals are right at the very bottom when it comes to customer service. My experiences with each visit have been that the staff basically acts like they are doing you a favor by allowing you to spend your time and money with them. This may not be the case with the folks who are lucky enough to live close by and able to play there regularly, as I did see the staff pleasantly interacting with a few folks and appeared to know them fairly well - but if they dont recognize you as such... dont expect much and then you wont be disappointed. The golf is still DEFINITELY worth putting up with some low-class, low quality customer service - food and beverage quality included. My recommendation if you "aint no local", would be to show up full, with some beverages stashed in your golf bag, go out and enjoy some amazing golf courses and then get the hell out of there as fast as you can!

Awful! G.shop folks did not honor our compd 4some provided by the professional at WW (Scott Wyckoff), ended up having to pay $200(for 4) or drive back home 2hrs. Snack shop: Terrible service, made us feel like we were bothering them by trying to buy stuff! The pro Scott Wyckoff, is totally disconnected to what the pro shop is doing. We had a compd 4some from him (a document) from a previous round (same 4 guys) that was a terrible experience (rude employees, rushed golf, pushy marshal); when we got to the golf shop (the second time) the employees there did not honor the comp document... charged us $50/each. We paid it reluctantly because we didnt want to drive back 2 hrs... We were pissed off the whole day! The two (2) employees that were awesome were the golf club attendant, and one of the marshals (a different one than we dealt with the 1st time). If you go, prepare yourself for rude/short employees who act like they dont want to be there! We decided were never going back!. BTW, Ive lived in the TB area for 18 yrs. When I played WW in 2001 I was blown away! Since then Ive told everyone I knew how awesome it was... Now I tell everyone The golf course is great, THE EMPLOYEE EXPERIENCE IS AWFUL, I DONT GO THERE ANYMORE BECAUSE I GET TREATED RUDELY AND LIKE ITS AN INCONVENIENCE TO SERVE ME AN TAKE MY MONEY!
