THERES ONLY ONE GOLF COURSE IN THE WORLD that has each hole conceived by a different designer. Its Crosswinds Golf Club in Greenville, South Carolina and the reason youve never heard of it is because its an 18-hole par-3 course. Yes, its a gimmick, but its a gimmick that works. What otherwise might have been just another fun-to-play but quickly forgetable par-3 layout is instead both fun-to-play and rather memorable. The holes stick in your brain long after you leave. You can instantly remember the Dye hole, or the Jones one or the Cupp one, and while you might have to think a minute about who designed some of the other holes (using the scorecard as a cheat sheet), you certainly can recall the salient features of each hole, because each is distictive and different. A Really fun par-3 course with enough variety to hold everyones interest. -Ron Whittan Architectural Editor Golf Digest

Do not go here if you have the option. Not only do you overpay for a crappy course, but you will be treated like dirt. Staff was extremely rude to us from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. Once they take your money, your on your own. You must fight to find a tee off spot and have no guarantee of even a decently paced round of golf. My buddy says they have always been this way! Also the location and layout is horrible. Every green is within 40 yards of the next tee box so you must constantly keep your head up for stray balls coming at you. The course is next to a major highway and airport, so expect a lot of noise and interruption. MUST AVOID!!

This place is horrible! Ive Been a couple of times and each time Ive had an issue with customer service. First time back in the summer I showed up at around 8 oclock and I was told I couldnt play because it would cost too much to keep the lights on. Then the last time my buddy brought his 5 year old son along to enjoy the day and walk with us. The douche at the club house told him that he had to pay for his son because they "only allow golfers". So he was charged full adult price for his 5 year old to walk with us, which by the way was ready to go home after hole 10. WILL NEVER BE BACK AND ENCOURAGE OTHERS NOT TO GO!!!!!!!!!

The website said they were open until 10:30 and I showed up there to play nine holes at 9:20 and the guy that worked there told me that they were closed. I told him that their website said they close at 10:30. He proceeded to tell me that they dont allow anyone to tee off after 9:00. I told him I only wanted to play 9 holes. He rudely said they were closed and I couldnt. If you do not allow anyone to tee off after 9:00 then you should state that on your website. I drove twenty miles to get there. This time of year it is nice to play somewhere at night due to the heat during the day. Very disappointed!!

Left at the 10th hole.My group was keeping perfect pace and the person behind us was hitting right at us while we were still on the green 2 holes in a row and almost struck me in the head. The clubhouse did not have a problem with that person doing that and insisted we let them play ahead if we do not want to get hit with a ball. Told them I would leave a review about this and the owner just said "Go ahead". Save your money for somewhere that cares about your safety and golf etiquette.

A neatly maintained and thoughtfully constructed Par Three. Crosswinds is nestled in the crook of Haywood and Pelham roads just beside the downtown airport. All of the fairways are straight and the greens are large and forgiving. Three of the holes on the back nine are very challenging. Be careful out there but more importantly, have fun! 4/5 stars because I would like to see some more water there. Maybe even a waterfall?

Was skeptical based on some of the previous reviews, but all in all this is an awesome course. The staff I encountered was very friendly and explained the entire course layout since I was a first time player. The course is in decent condition but overall its very nice. A little pricey for a par 3 course at $18 for 18 holes but a fun experience and change of pace from typical courses. Will certainly be back.

Very disappointing when you show up at 8:30, the website says it closes 10:30, and the employee turns you away and says they close early. This is the 3rd time this has happened to me. It is false advertising that they stay open til 10:30. There were people playing on the course when we got there and he still turned us away most likely because he wants to get home early.

The website says it closes at 10:30, so my buds and I showed up at 8:30 to play and the man working said he just finished up closing and claimed that at this time of year they close early, even though it is a warm spring night. Two other groups were playing and he said they were just finishing up. This has happened multiple times and something needs to be done.

Played for the first time the other day - in all honesty- for what you pay and what this course is, it can not be beat. Had no problem with the employees and where else can you get in your iron practice for $15? Finished in 2 hours with a buddy and will be back there again at least once a week. Id take playing here over going to the driving range any day!

A beautiful par-3 course squeezed into a small parcel, but utilized 18 different designers (one per hole) so there is a lot of variation and plenty of difficulty from the back tees. Friendly staff and the course itself is in impeccable shape. Lots of elevation changes result in a good amount of exercise too. Great value at this somewhat hidden gem.

If a company advertises that they stay open until 10pm....they should stay open until 10pm! My family and I went there to "play under the lights" like their ad says but as soon as we stepped out of our car, we were turned away. This not only happened once, not twice but THREE FREAKIN TIMES!!! Awful management! Rude and unfriendly!

Terrible service!!! 5 times I have show up at 8:30 and the course is supposed to stay open till 10:30, the man working says we cant play because there is only one other person on the course, the man just doesnt want to stay out late working and thinks he is getting lucky because little people are playing

Awful! Got there and it took 20 minutes just to get to the counter to pay...then got there and you have to have your own set of clubs. I have never played in my life and was going to use my husbands clubs and the man at the counter said no. We walked out and we will never do business there again.

Crosswinds is a great place for golfers of any skill level. The staff ensures that speed of play is continuous so you never get stuck behind slow players, and the price is unbeatable for a course of this quality. You may even catch a beautiful sunset to end your day!

Crosswinds has some of the best greens around!!! The Course is close to downtown greenville and well lighted for night play. I would highly recommend it. If your looking for a game, they have a Wednesday dogfight that starts around 6 and is a ton of fun...
