My SD surprised me and brought me here very recently. Two years earlier I came with a friend to Falkner Winery and saw they were building something beyond the grape vineyards. My friend and I treked over through the vineyards to get a glimpse at what I thought were houses being built. ( I wanted to get up close and personal view before anyone ) maybe to submit an offer. Low and behold which brings us to today. It was Carter Estate Winery and Resort. OMG talk about excited!!! I was like a child being told I was going to Disneyland. ( My favorite place ) Speechless, excited, in awwww when we pulled up to the resort gates. I was like this is across from Falkner! He said yes it is. So upon entering the gates with your key, it is so GORGEOUS.( Went during Christmas ) We drove up to our Chateau ( suite ) and got out. We walked up to the door and went in. Beautiful and up to my standards. FYI, Im am so picky. If its not high ranking 4 and 5 star Im not interested. I have been this way all my life. The Hotel key card controls everything and its green/environmental friendly/conserve and reserve. The room is big and the bathroom is huge. You can take a sexy shower ( fits 5 people )or bath ( fits 2 people) with or without your partner. Toilet has a door so you dont have to see or smell while its In use. Ladies the bathroom has hers and his sinks and a separate makeup and hair counter. Back to the room, comfortable king size bed, fire place, 50 inch t.v. But whos going to be watching that! Ceiling fan, couch, table and dinner table. Oh and complimentary bottle of wine. Closet space is okay, they provide robes and complimentary slippers. Now that made my evening walking over to pool and jacuzzi. Stepping outside your door to your patio once you figure out the lock is breathtaking. The vineyard is a few feet away from your door. Pool is descent and jacuzzi is a nice size. Didnt have time to eat at the restaurant which is facing pool. "" My only complaint is the wifi sucked and I was never able to connect."" My overall experience was AWESOME. I love Carter Estates and will go back.

Wow. 5 star experience at a 3 star price. Booked here for a 4 day getaway. Didnt regret it for a second. The villas are huge, the bathroom is the size of my apartment, the bath is the size of a hot-tub, the bed gave me narcolepsy every time I got in it, the pool is cute, with free cabanas and friendly waiter service, I woke up every morning to the sight of hot air balloons passing overhead, the wifi is fast and free. Didnt eat here, but there are 4 great restaurants within a 3 minute drive which we did eat at, and theres a supermarket 5 minutes down the road + a fridge in the room = plenty of scope for picnics with wine on your patio overlooking the vineyard. We also had a spa at the sister resort (south coast), who nicely gave us a pool pass for their pool area too. Temecula wines? Meh, theyre ok, but unless youre a real wine perfectionist youll find plenty to keep you interested. Overall, this basically felt like renting a villa in the south of France, at a quarter of the price, and where everything was brand new and worked. Get there now before the prices go up.

Really wish I was leaving a better rating then this, but the lady at the front desk deserves a one star rating for lack of customer service and due to her we would never return. When we checked in we werent given a bottle of wine, no big deal. I thought it was in the room, so I didnt mention it. When we got to the room later that night, we noticed it wasnt there. We called down to the office three times that night to mention it, no answer. I mentioned it upon check out and was handled rudely. I was told that because we didnt directly book through the website we didnt get one. This was clearly posted when I booked on a third party site we would get a bottle, or I wouldnt of even of known. When I mentioned this, your employee was wanting to argue with me over it and was down right rude about it. Very poorly handled and unprofessional. To pay a good price for a room and to be treated in such a manner is uncalled for. We travel a lot and this is the first time I have seen such a poorly ran place. We will be staying at another winery in the future that appreciates their customers.

My fiance and I had found a deal on one of the travel websites and spent the night at Carter Estate Winery and Resort for NYE; the stay included a free bottle of wine. The estate is located just before the roundabout, and the lodging area is past the tasting room. The bungalow we stayed at was very spacious, and had a view of the vineyard. The room had a comfortable Murphy style king sized bed, and the bathroom had both a large tub and shower area. The tub was like a mini jacuzzi; good for a hot and relaxing water jet massage. We tried out the tasting room and were provided great service by our host. Guests at the estate receive a $5 discount off the tasting price. We did not utilize any other service provided by the estate since we primarily booked it for being near other vineyards for wine tasting and a place to stay for New years. However, our stay was wonderful, and did not have any complaints or issues.

Was so nervous to stay at a new hotel with no reviews! When we opened the door to our bungalow I realized why nobody has written one yet....they dont want to give away the newest best kept secret in temecula! The rooms are HUGE and the property is truly breathtaking. The king bed I wanted to cart off the premises it was so heavenly. Im an interior designer who travels for a living and Im notorious for going to a hotel and hiding all of the ugly "stuff" in the closet- I was obsessed with the decor-truly feels like a coastal Carolina chic designer home. Stunning staff, spot on amenities, and the view of the vineyard from the patio is to die for. Ok let me wrap this up.... Pros: Literally everything. Ps theres a fireplace. Cons: I dont live there permanently. You have made me more of hotel snob. Bravo you guys nailed it!

Disappointing. I paid a premium price for a cheesy experience. The staff are fine, but the resort is lacking. You have to enter a room card to turn on the electricity, which seems ok until you accidentally turn the lights off on someone in the bathroom. There is one ice maker by the pool that is a one block walk away. There is no laundry facility; the nearest is five miles away. The tv is just hanging on a wall that is directly as you enter the room. I banged my head on it a few times.

Best hotel resort in Temecula period. Wonderful brand new casitas very high end all granite bathrooms,(larger than my entire room at the other hotel) kitchenette, luxury living, open your back patio and 20 feet away are rows of grapes and hot air balloons. Ive stayed everywhere in this town and Carter Estate Winery is the best.

Wonderfully relaxing and serene. Rooms are beautiful and spacious. Sitting outside on the patio sipping wine, just amazing. Room was more like a villa with lots of privacy. The only thing that we worried about was the Murphy bed. Dont let that fool you, one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept on at a hotel.
