If you can get thru construction to get here you will have to valet which costs you $6. You walk into the restaurant that seems like some bouji Vegas looking place, I think they went a bit overboard on the interior. The menu has a large variety of options all which sounded really nice. We started off with the truffle mushroom flat bread and added the duck confit which was really nice very rich. Also the foie gras was unbelievable, we really could of just done a few orders of this. It is sort of pan fried with a cherry sauce. I had the rack of lamb that had a different seasoning on it. It was good but not anything special really. Husband had the scallops and shrimp with risotto that he really enjoyed. Got the truffle masked potatoes that everyone recommended and they tasted like instant ones not good at all! The meal started with a bang and fizzled out. I would go back but just for appetizers and maybe to try the kangaroo the have on the menu?!

After reading some bad reviews, we decided to at least check it out for drinks and the view. We got there early and were greeted by the manager, Chris, who immediately made us feel welcome. He showed us around the downstairs and upstairs. It is absolutely beautiful and well done with all the inlaid marble, personal wine storage units etc. Everything is top-notch, even the restrooms where done upscale. We settled for the outside heated terrace with the view of Newport Harbor. We ordered just drinks, and the waiter let us taste a variety of delicious breads with butter. We had dinner plans but decided to at least try an appetizer. It was the tenderloin bites with roasted peppers and mashed potatoes. It was fabulous and with the bread could be an entire meal. We enjoyed the sunset and ambiance. The service was outstanding. We will definitely go back and have dinner there.

Went here for the second visit in two weeks.. And came via Duffy. Their deck hand was very nice & helpful. Food is quite good. Atmosphere is "ok", but I was certainly expecting more after their full renovation.. Interiors are bland w/no artwork on the walls, not an inviting space that you want to hang out in & a bit too stale/corporate looking. However, if you want some great people watching youll definitely see some of the previous Villa Nova crowd in their hoochie finery! Service was slow and food was really backed-up and late to come out to our table. The worst part is that this restaurant is insanely LOUD and has horrible acoustics. I had to shout just to talk to the person next to me and was hoarse the next am from having to talk so loud with our table guests. Not planning on returning..Id rather dine at The Dock on the water!

All around excellent!! Con: Require to valet park for $6 The bar is great to hang out. Got a booth by the window, the night time view is not worth the wait. Every employee we interacted with was friendly, helpful and accommodating. Drinks were reasonably priced and poured fairly (first glass of wine was large but not the next two). Listen to the specials! My fiance had the venison and said it was the best hes had. I had the pasta, and I can confidently say it was the best pesto sauce Ive ever had. Only 1 vegetarian entree available. We mentioned that it was our anniversary and were treated to complimentary cheesecake AND creme brulee, they were both absolute heaven. The best part of the night was our service; we left the restaurant stuffed, buzzed and happy at 11:00pm!

They make you feel like a movie star on every visit. My husband and I have been here only about 4 - 5 times for dinner or happy hour and they blow us away every single time by knowing treating us like an honored guest. One person asks our name and yet the entire wait staff will address us personally throughout the visit. They always bring us extras like a pairing of champagne with an appetizer for free or a dessert no charge just because. Their food is amazing and its just a special treat to dine here.

My wife and I went to the Winery for a nice evening out. It turned out to be an outstanding night out, the atmosphere is amazing the wait staff was extremely quick and courteous the food was unbelievable and they have an abundant selection of wine. We will definitely recommend and will definitely be back.

Poor service and overpriced food. We were a party of four and our food came at different times and it took the waiter 20 minutes to bring water and then another 20 minutes for wine bottle. My steak was OK, veggies were cooked perfect the view is great , but the establishment did not create the view.

Always a really good experience! The food is consistently good, if a bit pricey, the service is excellent, and the atmosphere is great. Valet is friendly if a bit slow. Wish there was normal parking, but thats Newport for you.

In terms of upscale dining in Orange County, this place is a rip off. You pay good money for the view. The wine selection is uninspiring even though that is apparently their claim to fame. This place is absolutely over-rated.

Great drinks and bartender (Patrick)!!! They will close the bar early if it is not busy, even if you do have a reservation. But I would give this place a second chance to really impress me.

Expensive, but good. I got the cheapest bottle of wine for the cause and they didnt look at me like I was cheap. I hate that it had a twist top though. Lol.
