This is a very likeable bar! Located conveniently in the Upper Market area, the venue pays tribute to its Speakeasy roots with affordable drinks and monthly burlesque performances. For my first visit, I checked it out Bacon, Babes and Bingo Night and got the feeling that you could easily come here early in the evening, make a spot for yourself and stay all night. The staff was quick, friendly and the sound was decent. Will come back and check out some of their live music for sure.

Its a great little music venue that hosts diverse acts. Basement speakeasy feel to it, but easy to find along the Upper Market corridor. Parking is challenging but not impossible off Market St, but Id definitely recommend taking Muni light rail or bus (there are several stops within a few blcoks). I just read that theyre closing sometime in 2014 for major renovations required to bring the old building up to code (elevator, larger restrooms).

I pretty much agree with Scott Z, its a cool place when you know youre going to see a band you like or have been invited by friends. I went to see both and it was a great time but for some reason, I felt that if I didnt have someone to meet or a hot band player to stare and drool at, I probably wouldnt go..... I didnt try the food but I will next time. Intimate concerts rock as do awesome friends and there is always enough room for both.

Man this place looked like it would be overrun with D**CHEBAG hipsters, who has wears a moustache hanging down to his chin before fifty who is not trying to tell EVERYONE how cool he is? But the bartenders were straightup sweetness to me and my droogs. Hey everyone. There are cool places left in this city even if this one is 1000 years old!

ATMOSPHERE: AMONIE!!! Saw my favorite friend band Amonie here. But otherwise Ive been here before and its a very cool casual place, spacious its like a big bar butawesome to watch listen to some live bands. Plenty of tables on the side to sit and enjoy too. But ppl are mainly standing in the center to watch the performance.

I just discovered this place now and so glad that I did! So many cheap concerts and always a good price to see! I am going to see Aaron Carter (90s crush? I think yes!) just for 18$, beautiful! Its easy to get to and friendly people!

Great venue! One of San Franciscos classic music venues on Market St. The downstairs can get a but stuffy and hot but other than that the cocktails are good and the music that preforms there is fun.

Lots of great local bands play here. Ive seen 3 of my friends perform here random nights. Cover charge is usually pretty cheap and the live shows are fun. Great place to go on a random weekday.
