Everything I need to get my gaming fix. This place is great. They get 5 stars because theyre constantly improving their operation in order to provide a great environment for gaming. My first impression of GameSync, several months ago, was that it suited my needs but could use some work in certain areas. Ive been back several times since then and like it more every time. For the sake of fairness, Id like to address the few negative reviews Ive seen, which I feel are overstated and misleading. First... Cleanliness. When its busy it can become a little untidy sometimes but Ive seen filthy LAN centers (Ive visited many other LAN centers around the US)... GameSync is usually pretty clean and when its not, it still is not bad at all. Second... Customer service. The place is staffed mostly by younger people. This is true for every single successful LAN center Ive visited except for an asian billiards/LAN center in Vegas and a tabletop gaming place south of Chicago. It makes sense to use kids. This is many young peoples dream job. So theyre not always the best when it comes to customer service. Sometimes you have to expend a little effort to get their attention, is all. The owner is apparently working on addressing that too! HOWEVER they are all friendly and happy to help you out once youve got their attention. If you ever have any issues that cost you time, such as a game requiring an update... They will happily reimburse you the lost time. No big deal. Just let them know. Third... Small space. Well, theres no arguing that. GameSync is currently operating in a pretty small room. BUT they make great use of the space theyve got, have plenty of stations and, best of all... Theyre working on finding larger digs. At some point in the near future they will be moving to a better spot. This is also why there hasnt been any new construction at their current location. Last point, and the most important in my opinion... Ive recently learned that the owner really cares about running a great establishment. He pays attention to customer feedback and addresses issues immediately. This place is his baby and I was SO PUMPED to learn that. Hes constantly planning for the future and implementing new ideas, such as becoming a major player in the e-sports scene by having house teams and staff writers/commentators as well as the aforementioned plans to move to more spacious quarters. To summarize this rather long-winded review: Whether youre like me and just need a place to occasionally game on some good hardware and fast internet, or youre super into the modern gaming scene and want to fully immerse yourself in it, this is the best place to go in San Diego and I strongly advise checking it out. If you like it, you should also ask about opportunities to become more involved with them. Apparently the owner is always looking for new talent (gamers, steamers, writers, etc).

we walked in on a weekend night .. 1. filthy (word dirty is an under-statement) place, it seemed it has not seen a cleanup since opening 2. no customer desk - we stood there waiting for sometime while few of the staff whispered to each other who should help (yeah we could hear you) 3. their card reader didnt work and he demanded cash - BUT had no cash in-hand (not even a dollar) for the difference, so we ended up agreeing on more game-time than we had asked for. 4. They are not responsible if PC crashed, or game is loaded with pre-existing binds/settings, figuring out the whole setup for first-timers, non-working MIC, or 10fps/500 ping during game, etc 6. Thus out of 2 hours (and 10mins) we had paid for, we only got ~45 mins worth of time as rest of the time one or the other issue kept creeping up 7. Website is misleading - dont believe the BS of 1 free hour of play for sign-up or gaming glasses (the company has apparently withdrew the sponsorship and I could see why), etc. None of it is true anymore. 8. We never got the game-time for the extra cash (nice way to spam) and also at that point we were more happy to leave this place than to play another minute there 9. If you are cannot tolerate passive smoking then this is NOT for you - boys running the place were smoking right at the door and coming back and forth 10. Did I already mention about IMMATURE and IRRESPONSIBLE staff (kids) in-charge .. they are more interested in getting back to their game rather than actually helping customers. 11. The desk I was seated on - didnt have adjustable chair or monitor and the PC tower was right smack onto my knee, so the ~45min of game-play was in a very awkward position (not fun at all) .. 12. There is absolutely NO regard or professional in this place - foul language, shouting across the room .. you get the idea .. is the name of the game. I dont understand how someone would be comfortable with their girlfriend here. go chuck-e-cheese but JUST AVOID THIS PLACE

Just avoid this place. Like other reviewers have said: It is FILTHY. The staff are like if you hired kids. They dont care about the customer period. The website is obviously outdated and so are the computers. Not all the games are available and if they are expect to spend 1/3 of your time installing updates. 1. Filthy 2. No air conditioning. Imagine being in a room with sweaty guys yelling at each other. 3. It smells. 4. Staff are near worthless. Especially sleeping staff who wont help. And the snoring. Just give me my money back. 5. Not all games as advertised. 6. Did I mention the filth. The staff that are awake dont clean or anything. Just play their games. I spent an hour going through nearly 10 computers trying to just play Battlefield 1. After paying them $4.00 to update their stuff for them, the computers graphics drivers were outdated. JUST AVOID...seriously annoyed. This place is just bad.

During hot weather, the place gets ridiculously hot and becomes an uncomfortable environment for gaming, and starts to wreak in the gaming room. The gaming room itself is super small as well. The service isnt good, and the pricing is fairly expensive. I feel like the management for the LAN center isnt well managed and organized at all either and needs work. Its a shame I wasted money and hours and didnt have the desire to go back to the center any time in the future to play because the place lacked so many true characteristics of a LAN center. Its a place to have fun with friends on occasion, but horrible if you are trying to focus on becoming better at a game. My opinion: If you dont have the money for a good gaming PC and need a good PC to play on, perhaps invest time and money on building one. Because wasting time and money at GameSync to play games isnt worth it what so ever.

Im a huge video game fan and I really love the idea of a place like this. However, the guy working there, named John ruined the experience for me and my wife. He oggled her in a creepy and obvious manner as soon as we walked in. Frankly, it was disgusting. Due to this and Johns annoyance when I asked for assistance with logging into my station, Ill never go back here again. Nor will I recommend this place to anyone I know. Hopefully another place like this opens in San Diego. 2 Response from the owner9 months ago John was fired promptly after your review and no longer works at GameSync. We apologize for any inconvenience and wed be happy to load up your account with free time on us. Just contact us to arrange the hookup! The owner lied. John still works there and still ogles women when they come in, myself included.
