Theres no other place I know in San Diego quite like Sevilla. This is a Wonderful Spanish Tapas Restaurant I have now been to several times and am always wowed by something new with them. To start this is a three story restaurant located in the Gaslamp on 5th Ave close to the convention center. The decor of the entire restaurant is immaculately detailed with a Spanish theme. The decor and vibe you get from the restaurant alone is worth checking out Sevilla. The top floor is usually reserved for group parties with a private bar and an overall very close-knit private feel. The main floor is where one would usually sit either at a high top table, family style table and chairs, at the long bar or my favorite spot in the back at the pastry bar - where you can watch the chefs make a lot of the meals from scratch in front of you. The Basement is a decent sized salsa dancing floor with large bar. They frequently host salsa dancing parties for anyone to attend or you are able to reserve the space for a company/private party as well - BOTH ARE A LOT OF FUN! The food is BOMB - For Tapas I recommend the empanadas, AHI TUNA TARTARE, Short Rib Flatbread and QUESO FUNDIDO. But you must try any of their Paellas!!! I recommend going on a Wednesday when they have their Wine/Date night for the best deals.

I had not had Tapas in several months and Sevilla Restaurant did the job wonderfully in satisfying my Tapas craving. I was immediately impressed by the very attractive interior of the restaurant with a large bull sculpture near the ceiling, colorful banners and logos giving the place a very exciting, historic ambience...I kind of felt like I was in Spain for awhile. I was in luck that they were offering their "Bites" Menu featuring a nice variety of Tapas selections for a very reasonable price of $15.50 for 5 choices then $2.75 for each additional so I opted for 9 selections. My favorites of the 9 were the Tuna Tartare Tower(Avocado, mango, orange-tarragon); Grilled Spanish sausages(with caramelized onions) and the Manchego Cheese & Chorizo Empanada. The variety of tastes and textures was an amazing eating experience. I sat in their nice outdoor seating area which is also great for watching the activity in the Gaslamp. The Staff showed the utmost professionalism and were most welcoming to me as well as other guests I was observing. I plan to visit Sevilla Restaurant again for their later evening live music and nightclub. This is a great place for Spanish Tapas and entertainment.

I must have went o a different place than the people giving it 4 or more stars. We went to the dinner show. I have never seen flamenco before so I will have to guess that IT was good. The food on the other hand was not. I though it impossible to have seafood that was not fresh in San Diego but Sevilla found a way. They serve the Paella for a main course during the dinner show. The only piece of seafood that was ok were the shrimp. Clam, mussels, calamari were at the point were they all smelled like fish. Anyone who knows about fresh fish knows it is not supposed to smell. Generally there was little spice in the entire dish. Rice was old and hard. Obviously this was all re-heated. Not going back and will warrn anyone who asks not to. Service was likewise atrocious. Saw the waitress once when we first sat down and ordered drinks. The next time I saw her was when I had to flag her down to ask for our check. Which took 25 minutes to get. The table next to us of 4 people never did even get their main course, They left. I consider them lucky, they could get their money back. $95 for two people, another $18 for 2 drinks. They should be ashamed to put out such bad food for a ridiculous price.
