Think carefully about joining Columbia Museum of Art. For the last five years, at least, one has tried to sustain a membership (Weve been a member for years, but something went wrong several years ago.) but the museum really doesnt seem to care unless youre a massive donor or something. One sends in a check, no response, no cards, no communication. One calls and gets a voicemail, no response, no communication. We belong to the High. We get constant communication: regular magazine, etc. You cant get one from CMA anymore; its supposed to come monthly on-line, to peons. Alas, no. For the past year, weve used our High card, which has better reciprocity, anyway. This year we relented and tried to renew-- really because we wanted access to the Columbia Design League which unfortunately has aligned its membership with CMA. We sent in our membership a month ago. Again, no response, no cards. These people really dont seem to care. Go to the High, The Mint, but think twice or more before trying to join CMA.

The CMA is a great local spot to visit of you are coming in from out of town. They have different spotlight artist shows that you can check out and they have a great assortment of other pieces of art upstairs. You can have a guide walk you through the exhibits or you can opt for an electronic guide and wear headphones... Or you can just interpret it all for yourself. I like the variety and the many options that they have.

This is a humble, smaller museum, but it is of excellent quality and certainly deserves a few hours! I really appreciated its compact size that was actually able to be conquered in an afternoon. The permanent collection is expertly laid out in a way that takes the viewer on a progressive journey through time across different regions and styles of painting.

Our two girls (age 4 and 6) love coming to the Columbia Museum of Art for the Passport to Art and Gladys Gang programs (both of which are free to the community). Were excited about the opportunity to expose them to art early on in life. Its not the largest art museum, but its well presented, and its a great community resource for the Columbia area.

Great day activity for the partner or family. The Museum of Art is reasonably priced and provides entertainment for a solid afternoon. Not the largest museum but definitely worth a look if youre looking for something different. Located in the heart of Main Street, you may as well park and walk to it!

My family are regular patrons here. As Columbia resident, I enjoy taking my children to the Museum on a regular basis. We learn something new every time we visit. The gift shop is an adventure in itself! Cannot forget to mention, the Cola Museum hosts wonderful after hours events for adults.

A great place to take the family to check out down art in Columbia. Conveniently located right downtown in the heart of the action. Plenty of local businesses within walking distance and lots of parking. Go museum go.

The art museum collection is rather small, but a good size considering Columbia is not well known for its art. I prefer realism and most of the collection is not my taste. Go on Sunday when its free.

It is a small museum but they have filled the space generously. Each room is broken into periods and is easy to navigate art through time. We enjoyed the Warhol exhibit a great deal.

Im used to going to LACMA. This is as close as I can get in the area. Makes a great date if youre into fine art. Really solid collection.
