Ok let me give you guys a little view on Fluxx from a foreigner (German) who lived in SD for over a year ! 1. First of all, its pricey, yes, but come on .... its ONE OF THE SPOTS to go to in down town and yes ... you are in down town San Diego people, there is a reason, thousands of people go there every single weekend ! If you want something cozy and cheap, go to one of the bars in PB or Misson Beach. There is plenty and yes, they are good too ! If you find me a place like Fluxx with a 3$ Vodka-Redbull in San Diego, please let me know, Im gonna move back tomorrow ;) 2. I always found the staff very friendly, helpful and fair ! They are very hard working people and Ive seen nothing than professional bar tenders there. Of course the security staff sometimes is a little strict or even seems rude but com on, everybody wants to have a good time and not to deal with super drunk or agressive people in theis place, you want safety and organisation so you can party and have fun without having to think about anybody starting a fight or a bad crowd to be in there. I even became freinds with some of the people there and its a really tough job I never wanted to do, but im glad, they are doing it the best they can ! 3. The music : you are in down town San Diego and complain about not getting the music you want ? Well I sometimes asked the dj to play a song I like and a couple times he did. Its hip hop, its EDM - what else do you expect ? Check the homepage for events and you know ;) I was there at a Snoop Dogg concert and he just killed it !!! always worth to go to live performances ! Ill be back in SD for some vacation and FLUXX is definitely on my to-do-list at least one night :)

Pros: Good music, Trendy decor, Drinks good+kinda pricey, Cons: Racist. Yes. i pulled the race card, and im white. My friends are ethnic (Latino, Middle eastern, Asian, and Black) and were not in the bouncers and managements best interest to step foot in the club. Guys, be ready to pay even if you are in the guest list. Heres my story, We (5 girls) on guest-list. Check in girl knew girls that were behind us and she got them in. We confronted her and she promised to get back at us quickly. She disappeared. Soon after, they made everyone on the guest-list line to the regular admission. After we waited in line again. I talked to one of the bouncers and he admitted that "you have to know people in this place, I can only let my family in for free" i replied, "so youre telling me that all of those white girls the check in girl let in before us were all her family"? Its not a bad club at all, its the management, employees. I only have one suggestion. Be fair to everyone no matter what they look like. Everyone is just there to have a good time. Would i go to club Fluxx again.....definitely no. Im done with club Fluxx and its unfair employees.

The place could get better reviews however the things people are writing are kind of true lol. As for the creepy rude boucers looking for a fight -yeah, I saw a little bit of that, they are walking around pushing other guys or shouldering them, and if the guys says excuse me -they start a fight... I guess its not a customer service oriented place lol -oh and it was funny at the counter -2 people kept asking questions the hostess selling tickets, and she was just yelling back move it move!!! then it was my turn -I paid for my wife and I 10 and 10 so should be $20, but I gave her $50 and am waiting for my change -and she yells again move it -keep moving next, so I am asking -excuse me maam my change , -mooovvve moove now neext!!! uhm excuse me...so the boucers quicky react and whats your problem what;s your problem....... oh well I kept moving, but again no management nowhere to complain, its just law of the jungle there and coruption lol.... lost only $50 bucks,,,not too bad compared to the other reviews :) lol

WORST-SERVICE-EVER! Got some tickets online for Martin Sloveig. Everyone in my party experienced horrible service. We would not recommend it. I have served in the industry, as a bartender and security/doorman. These employees dont know what service is. If youre paying minimum $12 per drink, you had better EARN your business with outstanding service. *Terrible Bartenders *Terrible Staff *Terrible Doormen *5 bucks for a coat check. per item. We checked two at $10 *Im surprised they didnt charge me to leave the place. *I wish I could rate this place ZERO stars. As stated in a previous review Its the management, employees and exorbitant prices. Be fair to everyone no matter what they look like. Everyone is there to have a good time. Would I go to club Fluxx again.....definitely not.

Went there on last Saturday (March the 3rd) for the third time after two great nights within the last month. I really liked the club all in all: great lighting system and great sound system combined with a solid mixture of popular songs and club music, entertained by high class dancers. But last Saturday, it was the most horrible music mixture I have ever had in a nightclub in the U.S. (I know what I’m talking about, because I’m a DJ in Europe). Additionally they had raised the cover from $20 to $30 at that day. The DJ had absolutely no sense of the crowd’s needs and always played the wrong track at the wrong time. I’m not sure, if I will go there again, because that night was a disaster. I hope that the people in charge read this review and will draw the conclusions.

We got there around 10 last night and there was no line, we didnt have any problems getting in. The cashier seemed jaded and was actually texting while she was taking our money. The only "Vegas style" thing about Fluxx is the drink prices and the watered down alcohol. The dance floor is way too small and they crowd it up even more by putting "VIP" tables and giant props on the dance floor. The staff is letting their #1 rating go to their heads, they are rude and condescending, and I'm not talking about the pretty waitresses that work there, the ugly fat bouncer acts like he's too good to point to the bathroom. The lighting and the music are very good, I just wish the customer service was at the same level.

Fluxx is still trying to be like a Vegas club. Its got the crowded bar, crowded floor and crowded bathrooms. It even has the $17 Red Bull Vodka which has to be the biggest joke ever. They do pull in bigger DJs sometimes, but expect to pay $40+ at the door for them if you dont get presale. Other than that, its local DJs. The venue itself is pretty nice, however. They do have themes like mermaids for Abyss which is cool for about the 10 seconds you notice them and theres also a 5 minute show. Though none of that justifies paying $17 for a red bull vodka. Did I mention its $17 for a red bull vodka? In San Diego? And 3/4 of the cup is just ice? Oh and theres no re-entry. Cmon. Even Vegas gives re-entry.
