This place is a little museum for children but not worth the price, They close at 4:00 pm on weekdays so it is impossible to get there after school and have time to explore. If you walk in at 3:45 they charge full price. On line I saw reviews that said it was free or cost $5. Their posted price was much higher. I cant remember how much but I was shocked. The exhibits do not explain educate well and the staff is uninterested in answering questions. I strongly advise you try the Cabrillo Martine Aquarium in San Pedro. You pay for parking, but the museum is free and has far more children friendly hours. It is (conservative guess) ten times the size, is highly instructive, has different age appropriate displays and an informed staff. They also have childrens classes, adult lectures, summer camp, grunion runs, and much more. Yes, Free! There is no comparision

You cannot go here without learning something! You can pet some of the fish (there is a particularly friendly bat ray that adores people and comes up to them to get stroked - I swear he was a dog in a previous life!) What most people probably dont realize is the amount of Conservation work the SeaLab does - from rescuing sea life that gets caught up in the cooling system of the nearby power plant to raising local native plants which are then placed in their rightful spots in the sand dunes, to taking part in beach clean up and being involved in the whale migration along the South Bay coast, this wonderful place is a great educational day out for the whole family - and the bat ray will be delighted to see you!

Great little place to take your little ones. Right on the beach and if you do the tour there are 6 tanks of different critters the kids get to touch. Its cheap too.

Awesome Place, Great For Kids, Wonderful Staff! Look, you are not going to get Sea World, but you will get some quality time with the family, and that is valuable.

Small place, but free. We donated. Took are 2 year old and killed about 30 minutes. It was worth it. Note: probibly better if you take a guided tour.

A horn shark rolled over so I could pet its belly, the sting ray gave me a high five, and I got anemone goo all up on my finger. Maximum stars!

Great place to take your kids to learn about sea life. All they ask is a small voluntary donation that is well worth the cause.

The Sea Lab is a great place for kids to learn about the ocean and its environment and a safe place to pet the sharks!
