If youve been a visitor since opening then you know this place needs help. Seems like every time I come here they are moving that damn gift shop (is it 5 times now?) or changing their mind on the food layout. In 10 years, Hawks Tavern (open 6 months only) was the only place you could get a fast hot dog or nachos even though it was open weekends only! Now you have to go all the way downstairs and get a table for a dang burger at 2am??! I ordered a $7 Bloody Mary from the bar and watched the bartender pour bottled Zing Zang mix! For $7 I expect the bartender to use ingredients, not pour a mix. Awful. And $5.50 for a beer? Just bring a flask and use their free soda ok! RH is the only casino youll find male cocktail servers, too. A lot of good female servers quit when this policy took place. The lighting here is too bright and the music is depressing. It feels like you are gambling inside a department store. No trendy/comfortable bars to unwind (thank you Thunder for Mingle!). Restrooms are small and always crowded and smell like urine. The rewards here are pathetic. As a top level player, I receive a 1000 point per month offer. Yep, two dollars in slot play for the whole month. Are you kidding me! Why even waste the stamp to mail that? Thunder gives me $120 and a room each week! And standing in line to get a $20 food comp voucher is reminiscent of the check writing days. Whats the point in having a rewards card if you cant swipe it at the diner? Casino safety is my #1 concern, and RH is an absolute s*** hole. All the area thugs hang out here. So if you dont win a jackpot at least you wont have a problem scoring meth any night. Ive witnessed men swipe vouchers from women as they cashed out, then run for the elevator. Watch out if you win a jackpot. One guard monitors the whole parking structure. People have been followed and robbed on the freeway here before, even murdered in the parking garage (google both!). Security guards here do not even have guard cards as required in CA. They are told to only observe & report! The handpay procedure is not discreet here! They announce your handpay on the PA so everyone can run to high limit to see it. Some players prefer to be discreet and that should be respected. I know I want as few people as possible knowing I have a large amount of cash in my pocket. Also, a hand count is REQUIRED! Not optional! This is not policy at other casinos. Thunder Valley discreetly places your cash in the W2G and is on their way. RH knows people will play more if they make your handpay a big scene. Since RH doesnt care about our security Im going to describe theirs. They utilize a Genetec surveillance system which includes LICENSE PLATE SCANNING CAMERAS. They are located just before the stoplight after exiting the freeway, on poles on both sides (see pics). If you dont like the idea of your vehicle info permanently stored in a NATIONWIDE database, then do not go here! 100% privacy in any casino is not expected but plate tracking my vehicle goes too far. They can sell this information to police, repo/insurance companies, collections, you name it! Arden Mall uses this system to find stolen vehicles with local PD. How does RH use it? Think about it. RH surely makes some good coin selling YOUR INFO to third party companies. High limit slots get shifted around but have been the same boring variety for years. The slot manager needs to be fired. Wheres Top Dollar? Green Machine? And come on, seriously, no Wheel of Fortune anywhere in the casino?! The dealers are all rookies and start here because Thunder wont hire fish. So players love to cheat here and get away with it. Game protection here is a joke! Its comedy when a player knows bacc rules better than a dealer. Floor supervisors are rude and hate their jobs and pretend like theyre not talking trash about the players. But hey, a casino that still cant afford a hotel after a decade surely isnt taking care of its employees, so lets not be too hard on them. See ya at Thunder.

I dont typically take the time to write reviews usually Im skimming through them before visiting a business to learn of past experiences and opinions before making my own. I did just that recently when my mom and I took a trip to California and saw a billboard for Red Hawk casino claiming to be "voted best casino", being the gamblers we are we decided to go see the "best casino" but not before googling and checking the reviews where we found hardly any comments solely based on the casinos slots or the odds of hitting anything. After visiting this casino last night Ive decided to write a review just based on the slot machines for all of my fellow gamblers. We arrived there at about 7:00 pm on Saturday evening and left at 4:00 am Sunday morning. During this time frame neither my mom or myself hit anything worth writing about and at no point in the night were we up from our original bank roll. We have visited other casinos that were not as loose as wed like but this place takes the cake. I have never seen slots this tight I literally am confused as to why people continue to play here. Honestly I would like to know who would come here to gamble nobody was winning I didnt see one hand pay during my entire visit. After loosing my money faster than we got there I took some time to just walk around the casino and see how other players were doing and I noticed that ALMOST every player was minimum betting and of course when a bonus was initiated the payout was just enough to spin a few more times. The most I seen anyone hit was 150 on a 5 dollar bet during bonus rounds. This casino in my opinion is a joke its insanely difficult to loosen these games up trust me I did the leg work. I understand that the house always wins but this house wont even let you in the door! We are gamblers and have seen our share of tight machines but Red Hawk is on another level. This is the WORST casino both my mom and I have EVER been to. We have gambled in Oklahoma, Colorado, Louisiana, Nevada and now California I will say Reno in Nevada is not too far from Red Hawk and most definitely a better place to gamble no competition. Silver Legacy in Reno was good to both of us this weekend and we seen a ton of players hitting. The only thing we seen hitting in Red Hawk were a few out of control women who were punching and slapping the machines when they were losing, no im not kidding I cant make this stuff up, it was ridiculous. Im not sure how Red Hawk advertises as " voted best casino " not sure who voted for them , probably whoever is collecting from the massive losses their players are taking. In our book this is officially voted the WORST casino in our.

Fair when it opened, but now overall unpleasant gaming environment. Excessively smelly and smokey. Very bright environment - almost like you have spotlights pointing on you. Bring sunglasses. HORRIBLE rewards program!! Rewards programs in Tahoe and Reno FAR better in terms of actual rewards for game play. Equal play would have had me a Diamond member at Harrahs/Harveys with suite upgrades, free show tickets and comped meals. At Red Hawk, spending thousands barely gets you any recognition & dont expect to be upgraded to Platinum unless you turn your wallet upside down. Even with Platinum, the rewards are poor. Buffet line can sometimes take over an hour, and the food is average at best. Salad bar often times looks like it went through a tornado with some dressings and toppings empty, or sprinkled with dropped toppings from adjacent containers with no one keeping the containers properly filled. There is only one reward counter, so you just may find yourself waiting another hour in line there, only to find out the thousands of dollars you spent wont even get you a decent comped meal. Also, dont expect to win much while playing the machines - they have them adjusted about as tight as possible. Its not just me - everyone I know that I have shared my experience with has played there walks out a loser. They try to trick you to come in and get free cheap gifts, such as a toaster or can opener. However, unlike other places, to receive any gift earned by your play, you have to register on one day then come back another day to get your $10 toaster. Absurd.... When they opened, you could get the gift the same day. So, they reel you in twice taking whatever cash they can so you can walk out with a toaster on the second visit. The only good thing about the whole place is the bathrooms are clean and each one has a bathroom person. Shame they dont show such care for the entire place as they do the bathroom. Shameful..... I drive the extra 2 hours and play in Tahoe where I feel I am respected and my play matters. Also, the food is superior and every once and a while you can ACTUALLY hit a jackpot! Dont get me wrong - I gave this place a chance... However, after everything I described above, I happily pass them on my way up Highway 50 to play in Tahoe. Sure it takes longer, but ITS WORTH IT!
