This was THE worst golfing experience I have EVER had. And Im no golf snob either. Im a bogie player and have even experience a 6hr round on another public course but this round at Brookside took the cake. I teed off at 3pm on a Thursday, a weekday. It played worse than a weekend. I had to wait 10-20 minutes, literally, on EVERY shot. I could never get into any sort of rhythm. There were 5-somes all over the course. I had to dodge flying balls several times and got hit almost twice. People arent joking that you need a hardhat when playing this course. And there was an overabundance of hacks (ie. people who hit 130 strokes plus) who just didnt know how to play the game. For example. the 5 some in front of us, had 4 players driving up to the 1 persons ball whos turn it was to hit. They all proceeded to watch him hack it 50 yards with his 3 wood over and over again instead of playing ready golf over their own ball. There was a two some who wanted to play through the 5some in front of us. The 5some wouldnt let them, but the 2some proceeded to tee into the group ahead. And they almost got in a fist fight to boot! It was comical, yet dangerous at the same time. I had gone in hoping to play a quick twilight round on a weekday. I ended up watching a comedy of errors, with all the hacks, balls, and improper golf etiquette all around. I will NEVER play brookside again.

My opinion of Brookside drops each time I go there. Joined the players club out of necessity, due to the lack of driving ranges around. Grass tees are never open. The driving range has become more and more crowded, you always have to wait for someone to finish hitting balls. Played one morning at 6:28 hoping for a better pace of play. The teebox was an absolute mess, teed off 30 minutes late, pace of play pretty bad. Few weeks later thought I would give the morning tee times another try. It was worse. Showed up at 6:45 for my 7:15 tee time. There were two lines moving at a snails pace due to the fact that they try to get the name and phone number of every single person in every group, give me a break. Didnt even get to check in until 7:10. 25 minutes to check in for a 7:15, what a joke. Then sat at the tee box until 8:00! How can you be 45 minutes behind at 7:15 in the morning? Still was a 5 hour round... All these problems are amplified by the fact that Brookside tries to host way to many tournaments. I feel like this course is getting to popular for its own good. Brookside needs to decide how they want to earn their money: tournaments, players club, regular fees. Because right now its can seem to pull any of them off well.

Brookside is one of the Los Angeles areas "hidden gems". If youve ever been to the Rose Bowl, you know its there but you dont really know about it until you go there. . .right next door. Brookside is the Golf & Country Club adjacent to the Rose Bowl and is one of the premiere places in Pasadena to either play golf or to host an event. The staff there is AMAZING and very accommodating regardless of whether you are there for golf or an event. Ive even witnessed the staff "handle" less than savory or wanted people with great grace and elegance leaving the person (or people) with their dignity. I highly recommend Brookside for any event that you are hosting as the food is wonderful and the staff is even moreso. Come to Pasadena to experience this beautiful jewel of a Golf & Country Club. I joined Players club on the condition that I can play at a discounted price after 2:30 pm or before 6:30am. They automatically charged my card every month, but when I went there the next time, they said the discount applies only after 5pm during weekend. Who starts playing golf at 5pm? I went there at 6:00am a few days later, but they said in the morning I had to pay a regular price. Next day I just wanted to practice ball because they promised free balls, but they were repairing the practice range and I couldnt practice. Besides there was no balls available for one hour. And there was no water at the water fountain. Staff there are not trained and are very rude. I cancelled the membership because they kept changing conditions and never kept promises.

Tee boxes missing and red tees with blue, white, gold in a colorful little bunch next to a fictitious tee box - so no advantage for hitting reds and if I wanted to hit championship I would not come here! Overcrowded - 5+ hours, urban noise level comparable to 605 fwy throughout the course as army of workers with armies of maintenance equipment kept all machines full throttle all day long. Highlight: Hitting chip shot when one of my partners yells, "Water, water, water!!" and sure enough, a sprinkler had been turned on and I soon was drenched mid-stream, mid-shot. Oh yes - gorgeous view of Arroyo - take a picnic basket and leave your clubs home.

I played Koiner #1 yesterday, tee time 9AM. We finished the front nine at 11:30. Due to a "fivesome" 4 groups ahead of us, the back nine took 3 1/2 hours to complete. The fivesome was on the Par 3 17th green, when we teed off on the 16th. The foursome ahead of us was in the fairway, another group on the green. There was a foursome on the tee box of 17, and another group waiting behind them. There were three holes open in front of the fivesome. Ridiculous!! No marshalls on the course, anywhere to be seen. Plus, it was close to 100 degress, and the beverage cart came by our group once, in 18 holes. Wont be playing here again soon.

1981年から1982年にかけて、ほぼ毎日ここでプレーしてました。 I played here during 1981 to 1982, almost everyday. 1983年の大晦日にも弟と18ホールを半袖で回って楽しかった。 My yngr brother and I had weared half sleeve shirt and played 18holes in Dec.31st of 1983, and enjoyed.

I can safely say that this is my home course, I played here at least a couple of hundred times. In the last years though I stopped coming as often, since the pace of play was becoming ridiculously slow. I decided to give it a try yesterday and I was gladly surprised that the pace was way much better that what I remembered. Finish the round in 4:30 hr, which for a Saturday (10:30 a.m.) is pretty good. Seems like they are doing a good job now, timing the pace by flagging carts in specific gaps. Hope the keep it up.

Played #2 Saturday with a tee time of 7:16. 4 1/2 round. The course is in poor condition due to rain and parking for the Rose Bowl. Some of the greens are OK but some are torn up. Played #1 last week and it is in the same condition. Groups were 5 strong and were being moved through each course one right after the other making for very crowded conditions and longer play times later in the morning and afternoon.

Use to be my favorite golf course, now I have nothing nice to say! my golf partners suck and the UPPITY ADMINISTRATION have decided to oust me after discovering that I had emotionally abused my stupid ex girlfriend and then kicked out of my house. Thats my business and i will be happy to find a REAL COURSE to golf at!!!!
