After the Upgrade a few Years back, its MUCH much nicer than before... You no longer have to duck your head when walking around a place that seemed like they turned a house into a Card Room, LoL.. Not do you have to watch your step as there are none of those either, as there were at the last location (conveniently located across the street 50-Yards over... Hah) Anyways, NOW -- As CURRENT as it gets -- Im a regular Card Room Frequenter, and The Grand is definitely one i come to the most..... No, its not the best. No, its not the biggest. And No, there are still your regular average Sharks lurking amongst the Tables waiting for the easy prey to come along dumping rack after rack.... So put it this way: Low-Limit (3/6, 4/8)is where you can probably have the most fun and not have to worry about the regular sharks looking to crush you with skills... Same goes for anything similar, like 6/12.. Omaha is hit or miss -- The same Ppl always play Omaha, so you get good players, but the game has so many options in order to win, specifically when playing "High-Low," that its a lot of fun, even as a beginner... Pretty much anything above that.... Meaning either of the No-Limits @ Blinds of 2-2-3, Min. $100, Max $300, is the only one you get a decent fair share of players of all levels in the higher stakes games... The only table where 2-2-3 has some Sharks and you may want to stay away if youre more of a Novice or just looking to have fun, is the "Main-Table." Which is funny because The Grand has rules like some places where its a "Must-Move" when your time is up to switch tables... Although you can prob get away with giving it away if you dont say anything for a bit if you REALLY wanted, haha. Anything higher and you better know what youre doing... 2-3-5 "No-Limit" is a minimum of $200 Buy-in, and a Max of$500... But if you buy for less than approx. $360-380 - You will be bullied and pushed off plenty of hands where you were prob ahead or would have won. So dont be fooled...!!?!?!! Same goes for the Limit-Hold Em 15/30 game... Stay away unless you know what youre doing. Playing it safe and guarded, the regulars will catch on pretty quick and anytime youre in a hand it raise them just fold. Anyways -- Overall I do really enjoy this card room... • Food is good • Open 24-Hours • Never to long of a wait for all games (Max of about 40-45 mins, regardless of what time you go...) • Have a Jackpot opportunity, even though its during odd hours only, at least they have one.. • Also have high hand Bonus, Royal Flush Bonus, and a nice variety of games to compliment the Bonuses • Bar has a good selection of drinks to choose from • Service isnt bad - A little Funky having a Cocktail Waitress who can ONLY get Drinks, while same goes for the Food Waitress ONLY ABLE to get you Food; But at least they bring it as quickly as possible • Staff is all nice, try to get to know you and remember names, which is always a plus anywhere... The only BAD or NEGATIVE thing I have to say is their Rules Pertaining to 2-Items: 1= No Hoodies being worn... Thats just dumb, sorry, I dont get it, like it, or see the point WHATSOEVER.. 2= NO PHONES at three tables: OK, a bit more understandable, but seriously...?!?? Youre allowed to stand up at your seat and use it, as long as youre not sitting down or in a hand. When in a hand, face down on the tables rim --- Stupid! NO ONE CAN TEXT FAST ENOUGH TO CHEAT IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM WHATSOEVER...!!!?!? OK, THATS ALL.. HOPE THAT HELPS -- The Positives DEFINITELY outweigh the Negatives FOR-SURE, so go ahead and stop by next time youre around... Just keep any eye out for those sharks! Theyre easy to spot since they already talk amongst themselves and ask the dealers greet them... LoL. -- D.L.

First I want to start off by saying I have never left a review for anywhere ever. Im know as a holdem and black jack player that plays around Im from Sacramento. New to the area thought Id check this place out. Im in a hand where guy raises I have A7 of spades first position call I call button is the raiser Flop is Q 6 6 two spades I push small stack likely 75 behind me button original raise identified as a strong player. pots about 60 bucks thinks and thinks cant make up his mind and first position that hasnt acted yet calls me out says Im on a flush draw and he will be folding to call me after the guy thinks for a while finally calls killed my position against the raiser flush doesnt come and he had JJ likely folds with the player behind him . Thats how my experience started they didnt do anything never talked to the guy dealer didnt even seem to care. Im not the angry type was just dissapointed and I asked why did he talk him into it he laughed I let it go and moved on. Also bare in mind Im not the type to start anything I have a family at Home and I work hard last thing Im going to do is start anything because there more important things in life. Second I decide to cool off and watch some Paigow and baccarat thinking about possibly playing 15 minutes into watching they call me to the side and tell me usually they have a policy that if you arent playing after you Lost we let you hang out for 15 minutes but then basically if your not gonna play more you have to leave and I was thinking about playing more but I simply told the gentleman calmly as Im the type to never get upset that Ive played card rooms everywhere use to be all the time before I had my family and now I get treated like this I would have to say that its my worst experience ever of the 20 different card rooms I played at and honestly Im shocked Im even leaving a review because its something Ive never done but for my money with the way my hand was handle and the gentleman on the floor was Ill just drive the extra 30 minutes to cache creek they always treat me great there.

I like to play the $3/$6 tables with a minimum buy-in of $60. Its a good fun way to come out with $120 or nothing... Thats how I roll. Either way, win or lose, its good fun and a great way to hone the old poker skills. Texas Holdem is the game. Generally people play pretty loose so if your patient you can come out ahead. I once ate a microwaved breakfast buritto there... Cant really say I recommend that. Have a beer instead. Dealers are pros. Their skills never cease to amaze me. Its not an easy job, thats for sure so throw them a tip after a good hand and show some appreciation. They really are talented. A rating from me or 4.5 stars out of 5. Its a clean establishment and theres not much to complain about besides the burritos!

Its newly renovated on the inside. Its got new plasmas every on the walls. I dont like the way the blinds work here though. I decided to play some no limit holdem and the blinds were 2, 2, 3. I guess its supposed to encourage more action. Waited an hour to play after they said they were going to open a new table. There was 10 people waiting to play needless to say when they decided to open the new table only 6 people were still their waiting to play. The action is pretty slow probably because of the blinds. Seems like there are some regulars on the the tables because of all the talking back and forth. Its a kind of a place where you want to have a nice house game, but its not like a casino its just a card room.
