If I want to play poker in the Bay Area, my favorite place to play is Bay 101. I just turned 21 a few months prior to writing this review, so Ive only played at a few places - Bay 101, M8trix, Oaks Card Club in Emeryville, and Jackson Casino up 100 miles north. Out of everywhere Ive played, I liked Bay 101 the most because they have the widest selection of games as well as the best tournament structures. I really enjoyed playing the Bay 101 Open - the blind levels for the smaller buy-ins ($345) were really good, and it took about 13-14 hours to play down to the winner (out of a field of ~260). They also hold a number of high-profile tournament that draw fields of >500 such as the WPT shooting star event. Overall, Bay 101 is the best place for tournament poker in the bay area, hands down. For cash game play, I would say the field is tougher at Bay 101 than at M8trix, and definitely tougher than that of Oaks Card Club (hence why Im giving the place 4 stars instead of 5). Also, the food here is definitely a plus. Service can take up to an hour when the card room is fuller, but the food here is definitely better than any casino or card room Ive played in.

Customer service is the worse. I am not a gambler but appreciate drinks wherever. I cant believe that my husband and friend AND I got kicked out, not to mention we bought the beers and we were not allowed to finish it. We had to leave anything unfinished. Crappiest customer service ever. I just think people that are gamblers and drunkards dont care because they are drunk all the time and this place takes advantage of it. Great job! Matrix is better! I WAS NICE ABOUT IT AND THEY DONt care about people! I guess if you are a a degenerate gambler, than u don t care about service in general. I feel bad for you! Keep going back to these places because obviously they only suck your money and nothing else. Wow! I think anyone has to tolerate it just to get service late at night,but the bartenders are really bad, not worth tipping! They tell you that you cant drink anymore and also made drinks that we didnt order! Thank you bay 101 you are the worse with service! Not normal people would ever go to this place only degenerate gamblers! Its ok that you lose all your money here but its not ok to give good customer service! If I could give zero stars I would!

I guess they deserve 3 stars for being open late, and Ive used their wifi a number of times before getting it at my work. But, it started out OK and then got weird. I used to go there for the food, which is a cut above Dennys, and would drink quite a bit of beer too. Yeah, Id use their wifi but I gave them plenty of business. But, I dont gamble. It was interesting to see the gamblers, and when I first discovered the place I was thinking Id try it out, but Ive held back - if I want to try it I think Ill buy one of those gambling games for my computer first before I do it in real life. Well, I guess after a while they figured out I wasnt gambling, and I also started to watch my budget on food and drinking, and the atmosphere got ... colder. If youre a hardcore gambler though this is the place, just because they apparently hold a ton of tournaments, and there are always plenty of people there to gamble with. The parking lot is huge so youll never have a parking problem, and the place is kept up pretty well given the large number of people there every day (and all night).

I just moved to Nor Cal and was told this is a great place to play, lots of action, a nice place. I will admit it looks nice, relatively clean and it is big, but I tried it twice and was very disappointed. Ive played all over So Cal, Vegas, throughout the South, AC, etc. and the environment is not comfortable, people are constantly speaking other languages at the table, during hands, its ridiculous. You cant tell if theres collusion or not and dont count on the dealers to help any. Half of them barely speak english themselves. The action is average, nothing special and definately nothing compared to So Cal and Vegas. Good luck if you decide to go!

The staffs speaks their own ethic language before, during, and after on an open table! I mean I get it because Im Asian myself but Im sure not the only one paranoid as hell that the cards might be fixed. For wats its worth the dealer may stop at any time to talk to the pit bosses! At time a game may hijack for 10s of minutes unending with my live bet over 3k on the table! Luckily that particular I win maybe because there was a bigger bet opposite of my bet!

I kind of expected more of a Lad Vegas atmosphere but was really disappointed because it felt nothing like Las Vegas apostrophe and all the people seem to be really on edge and unhappy intervention the majority of the people in the place were of Asian descent which I dont know seems odd to me but not that important Ill hang out with any race Im not racist at all.

Straight bingo players here, worse experience ever... feels like everyone would call you with just about everything. The blinds are ridiculous. No bonuses, bad beats, nothing. Paying for big blinds twice and any opening calls are doubled the amount of the blinds! No skills involved whatsoever, just bingo players trying to win by luck.

This place is horrible. Chinese is primary language spoken, confusing rules, you have to pay an ante each hand, and payouts are not as good as normal. (6 to 5) on blackjack. Dealers are unprofessional and generally pretty sloppy. No slots, not a whole lot of tables. Crappy casino. Worst one Ive ever been to.

Great place to play limit and no-limit Holdem, Omaha, and various Asian card games. The bar has excellent food and friendly service. They are moving to their new building on the other side of Hwy 101 in November so it is hoped the charm and great service survive.

The call-in list is a complete joke! ESPECIALLY if you are not one of the Asian or White players that are regulars. Tourists and non- frequent players are not treated fairly. If their is a question in a hand sent to the floor for a ruling the same applies

There should be -★ option for this place ! Void this restaurant "Sutters" inside the Bay 101 sloppy service even get a menu and poisoning food, got sick there ! should called the health department !, never going there again !

Matrix has a better appearance, looks and Is more of an eye catcher, the atmosphere is that of a casino, Bay 101s is more like a bingo hall. Lets hope the new Bay will attract more people,be more of an eye catcher

I love Bay 101. Their staff is excellent. Their food is good too. Ive been coming here since 01 and not much has changed..other than it being packed constantly now, which is great. (This review is for poker side)

Terrible the 6 and 7 dollars casino drops for hold em are excessive they dont have a bonus that most other casinos have why does bay 101 need a larger per hand drop compared to all casino in northern California
