Comfy padded chairs in the concert hall. Had to get that right out there because if you are like me, the first question on your mind when they announced the opening of Blue Note was: did they replace those horrible chairs? Yes. Yes they did. [Pause for a brief moment of gratitude] My husband and I went to see Timothy Schmit last week. It was my first time at Blue Note, not my first time in the building. Ive been to performances in the renovated opera house before City Winery moved in and I went to several concerts (and movies as part of NVFF) while it was run by City Winery. I have to say last weeks concert was the sweetest of all of those in terms of sound quality. I could hear each voice and each instrument working together so seamlessly, without overpowering each other or the audience. If this concert was any indication, Id say the venue takes great pride in the quality of the sound experience they provide. For this I was relieved and delighted. Even the band playing downstairs in the restaurant/bar did not distract from the exquisite sound experience unfolding before us. I mean it isnt the Sydney Opera House for crying out loud, but it might feel like it in comparison to your prior experiences in the building. I didnt try the food downstairs. There is not food upstairs. I like that you can just go to a concert without being pressured to buy food. There is a bar in both areas, but the selection upstairs was very limited. You could go to the bar downstairs and get a drink and bring it up, you just had to tell them it was for the concert hall because they dont allow glass up there. (The bar downstairs will give you a plastic cup.) Im looking forward to trying out the downstairs portion of the venue. It looked like a lot of fun for hanging out with some good music. If you arent sure if you want to try this place out or not, just do it. Youll have a good time.

Go for the music.... Not the food. My girlfriend and I attended Blue Note Napa a few weeks ago. I tried emailing the venue, but seems they dont care after not hearing a response from two emails. The concert was great and I thought that the venue was pretty cool with a good setup. Not being able to reserve seating is a huge downside. If you dont get there early you dont get a good seat. If you do want a good seat you have to get there when it opens and basically you have no choice but to eat there. It really should be reserved seating. I was not very happy with the food either. Upon sitting down the woman next to us commented about the food being terrible and I thought she just didnt know what she was talking about. My girlfriend got the salad, which was so salty it was almost inedible. The black bean soup was good, but it did not wow me at all. I had the ribs for my entree. The ribs where lukewarm when I got them and were pretty dry, though the rub on it was good. I asked for extra sauce but didnt receive any, the waiter, who was very nice, must have forgotten, it was busy. The grits were decent. My girlfriend got the salmon dish. It was good, but was not cooked entirely through. The vegetables on the side where good though. The deserts were good. When paying $50 for a meal on top of a $65 ticket, I would expect superb quality food rather than the sub par meal we received. I would not recommend the food to anyone at this time, though I would recommend the venue. The staff was all awesome though! Everyone was so nice and made it a good place to be. I dont think Id eat there again though unless something changes.

If you are looking for live music in an intimate setting, this IS the place. Tables and booths are shared, depending on the number of people in your party. I was a party of one at the 6:30 pm show on a Saturday and shared a table nearest the stage with three delightful women. What a treat! The food was ok, a little under- seasoned for my taste. I had the lamb shank and spicy lentils (no spice in the lentils.) The food service was slow, the beverage service was attentive. The sound quality was perfect. Not too loud, yet crystal clear to hear the soft voice of Mr. Freddy Cole. A nice balance of the musicians and the mastery of Mr Cole on the piano. A must see! I frequented the Blue Note in Las Vegas before it closed and experienced the same intimate setting. Unlike the sardine can feel of Yoshis, this place gives you breathing room. A score for live jazz!

I set Feb 14th to celebrate Valentines with my wife. I had many options, but selected the Blue Note due to our fondness for Jazz. I spent my hard earn money with the hopes of making it a special night for my wife and I. The staff and food was great. However, the night was ruined for me by an unprovoked and continued harassment from that nights entertainer. I hesitated from responding in kind solely to not make a scene, and to lessen our uncomfortabless after enjoying such a good dinner. Although I had plans to patronize more the Blue Note, I will now make it a point not to return and go elsewhere. I know this place wont care about my feedback, nonetheless I dont relish paying to NOT be made welcomed. Wasted night!

I saw Brian Culbertson with my beau on 12/30/16. The show was FABULOUS! Brian is just about incomparable! The venue is really nice with lots of ambiance. However, I would recommend a menu change, which Im sure is an easy fix. I hesitate to make that comment, but I would be remiss if I didnt. Tighten up the menu and the Blue Note would be PERFECT. The staff, Gary at the door, the hostess, and the waiters are first rate! I did not approach the bar, so I cannot review the bar staff. I look forward to experiencing my next show at the Blue Note. :-)

Amazing music, horrible food. Went there with my family of 5 and every single dish was bad: the burger was super salty while the cheesy pasta had no taste. The corn chowder tasted like mustard and ketchup dissolved in water, the salmon was completely raw and the ceviche tasted really weird (and trust me, we love ceviche). I dont know if the cook wasnt there or what happened, but it was horrible. The music was amazing though and the show was worth it. Eat somewhere else and then go there to watch the show.

This place was outstanding. The customer service was far above par even for Napa. The blue lightning takes a little time for your eyes to adjust but once they do it its spectacular. The decor and interior design of this small well laid out space is genius. The entertainment was a band called Royal Jelly Jive and this was one of the best shows I have ever witnessed and it only cost me ten bucks
