The park itself is beautiful and I love seeing all the ducks and bunnies everywhere! However, I am giving this park only one star for a couple of reasons. First off, there are homeless people everywhere. When I started taking my dog to this park four years ago, there were hardly any homeless people around. As a young women I do not feel safe walking around where a homeless person is sleeping or doing god knows what every two feet. There are plenty of other places for these people to go and sleep. It has really brought down the experience of this park. Just this morning I took my dog there and this homeless lady was walking around screaming at her dog and throwing it around! I was disgusted. Secondly, everyone and their mother has their dog off leash! My dog is aggressive towards other dogs, so I keep him in a harness and on a runners leash so he stays close to me. However since almost everyone there lets their dog off leash now, they think its okay to let their dog run up to mine. Arizona has a leash law for a reason people! I dont care if your dog is friendly, mine isnt. It is common curtesy to others to keep your dog on a leash. There is a dog park at this park for a reason! We used to love going to this park, it was so nice and quiet with very respectable people. Now it has gone incredibly downhill and we will not be going to this park again. I wanted to leave this review to warn others before going here. If you want to see homeless people and loose dogs everywhere then this is the place for you.

Great place to hunt Pokémon. There are a whole lot of pokestops here. Real good place to walk the kilometres and collect the pokeballs. You will find grass and water type mostly. I have caught a Raichu here and a Magmar too. The whole SW corner of the park is community garden space. Also I see other reviews complain about the homeless presence in the park. Some have a tone that sound like the problem isnt that people are homeless, but that they have to see the homeless. Instead of complaining that "there are homeless in the park", lets complain that people are homeless. And if we want to solve that problem we should address the policy decisions that got us here, we do that by voting out every incumbent in local and national elections. There is way to much wealth in this world for people to be homeless.

I love taking my dog to the dog park there. Plenty of space and things for the kids. Must reserve a ramada in advance and get a permit to do a party and play music. Fishing is a great way to relax and stocked well year round. My only 2 gripes are that theres a large transient population in the park and that at night the City of Phoenix needs to do a better job on lighting both repairing existing fixtures and adding more than whats there. Has some dark spots that could be hazardous or scary to joggers and walkers especially women.

We watched Ballet under the Stars presented by Ballet of Arizona.Lovely first performance, called square dance.Tge second performance our six graders and I deemed it inappropriate, male dancers grabbing butts, not for a family night out!and the gyration was part of the choreography little too much!.....so we left shortly after...that was enough Ballet of Arizona. I rather had paid for a performance and knowing that it was more age appropriate . The park was populated for Saturday night.

The park is clean, open and has a lot of walking paths. The vegetation is more mature, which is nice, and the water features are well maintained. For a park bathroom, the bathrooms are well maintained as well. Removing one star because of all the lamp posts which were out- especially around the childrens area. We had to leave earlier than we wanted because most of the lights by the playground were burnt out. It isnt exactly safe to play on a jungle gym in rapidly fading light!

This park could be better. The park attendants are rude and kind of aggressive when it gets within 30 mins of close time, riding around in a cart yelling and closing the gates promptly at close. The volleyball courts are almost always taken. The lake/walkways are nice to walk around, but there are people who camp the park at all hours of the day asking for change. I guess its somewhat nice for a picnic/barbeque, but honestly there are others with fewer people to bother you.

Very clean! I am holding back stars due to a park ranger. She had an unnessary tone when asking us to move( apparently the remadas need to be reserved for $25 dollars 48 hours in advance and you can only reserve and pay 48 hours in advance) from the vacant remadas to elsewhere. Ok fine, well follow park rules. A while later we saw the same ranger packing 4-5 little kids onto her golfcart and driving around the park.

I enjoy the park, I walk there in the mornings. I enjoy seeing the animals there. Usually I spot a rabbit, along with the ducks, blackbirds and the occasional group of lovebirds (a small parrot). I only hold back a star because there is always construction going on in the park and I dont see projects being completed quickly. That, and there are always homeless people around, which detracts from a safe atmosphere.

A really nice park. Theres even a pond with ducks. Theres also a small dog and large dog park, so the Chihuahuas dont have to play with the Great Danes. Theres a bunch of other stuff I dont use. Large fields. Walking paths. So much to see.

Park itself is nice, could be cleaner but other than that I dont have complaints. Lots of ducks, fountains, roses, lakes, quiet anglers, a few rolling hills to stroll around as well. The park also features a playground and dog park.

The level of detail in this park is amazing. They have a fascinating circle of life area, they have a history section, a beautiful fountain, a bridge, lake with ducks, playground, dog parks, as well as various buildings etc.

Hidden paradise downtown. Beautiful lake, great layout for walking, and plenty of room for gatherings and special events. Immediately adjacent to the Central Ave light rail, with plenty of parking. Easy to get to and hard to leave.

This is a nice park and it is pretty easy to get to. Ive been a few times for several events, my favorite being the Strong Beer Festival. If I lived closer to downtown, I would probably come here more often.

Great space for events. Centrally located. Historic area. The workers werent very nice to our group practicing capoeira, made us feel unwanted but tolerated the drunken people urinating next to us.
